I wonder i just bought a new Xperia T (james bond version).
But what i found out is that the phone is really fast empty.
I had a htc one v, and i didnt use my phone and was up to 60-70%,
With my xperia T i will not even make the complete work day (most of the time the phone is in my pocket)
I did do bravia engine off, screen in the middle/dark, auto on/off.
I do have sync on, facebook/twitter but dont the auto one that you can setup with sony
I run the same apps as i did on my htc.. but why is it empty so quick?
Is it a software issue because the phone is so new?
Please post in the correct forum. There's even a sticky about this in the General section.
Thanks
AvRS
Check out the battery life thread.

There have been mixed results on battery life. Personally my phone has been great on battery life but I'm careful what I install and keep an eye on what might be draining my charge.
If you don't have 5-6 hours screen time and your phone is still discharging within 12 hours or so then it's likely to be an app hammering your battery.

You could also try installing CPU Spy to make sure the phone is going into deep sleep mode.
You could also try turning off WiFi when not in use to see if that makes a difference.
To start off, I used to get pretty good battery life on this phone. I usually averaged somewhere around 3 to 4 hours of screen on time while still ending the day with over 20% left. This is from usage such as using the GPS for between 30 to 60 min, browsing reddit, watching youtube, and other stuff like that. I have slowly noticed that I have been getting worse and worse times until I finally decided to log them. I'm hoping that with the information I collected, you guys may be able to give me an idea of why my battery life sucks and what I can do about it. If it turns out my battery life is actually fine and I'm crazy, tell me that too haha. The link to the album with all of the screen shots is here: http://imgur.com/a/j7f3o
The first few images are of the battery logging app GSam Battery Monitor. Ignore the average screen on at the bottom of the first image because it's way too high as seen in the later images. The screenshots from the Android Battery Monitor are towards the end.

I really appreciate your helps and am hoping there is something I can do to help fix this while maintaining all of the functionality I enjoy with this phone. I've seen plenty of people on this forum getting amazing battery life and usage times and would love to join their ranks! Let me know if I can get you any other information and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.

You should post that in the battery life OP. I'm sure someone there could help you out.

Generally, you should allow one to two days for everything to settle. Are you doing that?
[i know this is the Nexus 6 forum, but somebody else suggested i post here as you all seem to discuss battery life issues more than other phone forums]
Moto X 2014 running pre-rooted 5.0 with tether enabled, flashed with MOFO
i have wifi, bluetooth, as well as location services OFF
in the past 2 or 3 days my battery life has gone to crap. someone suggested there was a GPS update that is causing problems, but can't find any other info
the biggest drain seems to be Google Play Services, with >40% of the power usage.
1) anyone else experiencing this? if so, is there a solution or fix?
2) can Google Play Services be uninstalled/disabled (or frozen using Titanium Backup) safely

shouldn't this be updating through the play store?
i am not an experienced dev or anything... MOFO was about as much as i felt comfortable doing unless there are detailed step by step instructions somewhere.

here is the latest. check what version you have installed, if its not this recent, install the latest. if it is the same, we will look in a different direction http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/google...ices-7-5-71-1955121-438-android-apk-download/

So hi all
I received my first Nexus 6 yesterday, got it charged, didn't even set it up properly (no sim card installed yet). Screen pops up to say ther's an update available to 5.1. So I did that update. Mid-update an android shows up, laying on his back and "Error". Rebooted phone... Bootloop on "optimizing apps".
Got new phone from store today, everything works. But I don't want to update again and have the same issue. Anyone knows something about bricking the Nexus 6 with factory updates? Wasn't planning on rooting or anything else. Is there any major reason to update to 5.1?
Secondly, I was reading that the Nexus 6 has a very good battery life. That's the main reason I switched from my iPhone 5 (before I had android phones) to the Nexus 6. I fully charged it today, spent 20 minutes on the phone and already 5% off, only WiFi enabled & bluetooth. Three apps installed: Facebook, Messenger & Instagram. Does the phone still have to break in or could it be that the 5.1 update fixes any battery drain issues?
Many thanks in advance!

Any tips to prevent it from bricking again? It's a brand new phone in a brand new package... Don't want to go to the shop again tomorrow saying it's broken again. And I could fix it by adb & fastboot stuff but I don't want to void my warranty yet.
the battery drain is mostly related to how you personally use the phone, how you set it up, what apps you install and use, and your phone/data signal quality. keep your phones brightness down for better battery.

well, it wasnt "bricked", you just didnt know how to fix it. but no, thetes nothing you can do from that randomly happening again. but it was a random event, as the far majority of nexus 6 updated ota fine.

Regarding battery life, Facebook app is a huge battery killer. I suggest using the mobile site. Battery life is dependent on many things, including signal quality, apps installed, location settings, screen brightness, etc. I regularly see 5-6 hours of SOT. I keep location set to battery saving. Ambient display is turned off, because I use a custom ROM that enables the LED notification by default. My brightness is kept between 30-35% with adaptive brightness enabled. Also, I'm either on WiFi or a strong LTE signal.
Regarding your misfortune with the OTA soft brick, it is not uncommon but I doubt it will occur again on your new device. If it should, return it again. It is of no fault of yours. You should always update, as important security and system features are updated.

Thanks! Facebook wasn't even between the battery usage yet. Because I wasn't logged in yet. Messenger and Facebook (& data signal) were the apps that drained my iPhone the most, sadly enough.
Currently I was on WiFi with data disabled. To how much days does 5-6 hours SOT time translate in days? 1 or 1.5 days .. 2 days? (for you). I was having high hopes with Android again but my newly aquired Moto 360 drained in 3 hours from 80% to 6%... with almost all features turned off. Hoping to get this stuff fixed.
So I should just try to update it again?

I'm in the "extreme" category as far as usage goes. So, my 5-6 hours of Screen On Time translates to about 15-18 hours of use/standby. For less frequent use, you should easily see 1-1.5 days on a charge, if not more.
Yes, update. There's nothing you can do to prevent it from happening. Well, maybe not nothing...
You could unlock your bootloader, and never worry about updates again.

a little story about facebook.. the last time i had facebook on any of my devices was in 2011. i had it on bith my nexus phones and tablet at the time. as far as i could remember, it always drained my battery. i had it on my nexus 7 for 2 months. one day i noticed it drained 25%. the funny thing was that i never ever logged into my account on the tablet, ever. i started niticing that it drained anywhere from 8-30% battery, without me ever using. after a week or so of this, i uninstalled the facebook app from all of my devices, and have been using the site since. btw, facebook is one of the top 5 apps that will drain your battery, even if you dont ever use.

Oh okay. Maybe I should remove the Facebook app. I only use it when I'm bored. Will leave messenger installed for now.
In meantime I successfully installed 5.1. Now on to 5.1.1 or does it have the same battery drain issue as the android wear one?

Hi,
I know there are many topics on the subject but I didn't find any solution to my problem.
So, since a couple weeks, about when I moved from Europe to the US, my phone drains significantly more battery than before. This has apparently nothing to do with screen brightness, wifi or cell data, since it occurs even in airplane mode during the night. I used to lose about 1-2% during a night, but now it's at least 15%.
You can find a couple screenshots from BetterBatteryStats there (sorry for broken link, it does not work otherwise): n.ethz.ch/~bauera/uploads/Screenshots/
So as I noticed, there are a couple wakelocks but nothing that could explain this large drain. Any idea what could be the reason and how to fix it?
FYI I am using the stock rom 23.4.A.1.232 with Android 5.1.1. Phone model is D5803. The OS was rooted directly when I got the phone in October 2015 and as I said, I did not have any battery problems until recently.
Thanks for your help!
Alex
that's the lollipop battery drain bug on mobile radio, marshmallow should have fix this
Thank you for your reply. However are you sure of that? The bug you are mentioning is apparently linked with mobile data, which I haven't even turned on since a couple reboots at least. Moreover, the battery stats for the night (from the built-in battery menu) show that the mobile network was fully off during that time (airplane mode).

BBS - Better Battery Stats is your freind. There's also lots of tips in the thread on how to limit most of the common wakelocks.
There are several services in the new Play Services that are keeping your phone awake. With the introduction of wearable bluetooth there are new fitness services that are looking for your wearable devices constantly, disable them and your battery gets better. Obviously if you use fitness bands/trackers then this fix is not for you.
If you have a rooted phone download Disableservice from the playstore, it's a lot easier to use than Xprivacy and you don't need to install Xposed.
Once it's installed, open the system tab, open Google Play Services, then untick (disable) the following:
ConfigFetchService
FitnessSyncAdapterService
GoogleLocationManagerService
GoogleLocationService
NetworkLocationService
ProximitySettingInjectorService
UserPresenceService
WearableControlService
WearableService
WearableSyncService
then reboot your phone.
Disabling these from running should have no impact on your phone, it doesn't for me, and will give you 10-15% more battery life.

Solved Battery drain for Me
I was also suffering from the same battery drain issue, but after doing a lot of research on this forum, few tricks mentioned here worked for me.
It had been 6 days I bought the phone, so was very disappointed by battery life, did upgrade from PC to Lollipop, but still the problem persisted and even worse. So I decided to go back to Kitkat and followed steps here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...d5833-t2906706
After downgrade the battery got somewhat better not satisfactory, so I followed the trick of complete drain upto 0% and charge to 100% (switchded off) after reading posts: http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...5#post59797105 by Sydr08 #182
and cache clearing trick after 0% to 100% charge http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-c...harge-t3207737
After doing 100% charge I turned ON with vol+ pressed but phone did not respond (I guessed that it didn't worked, so switched ON normally) but after booting I found few settings to be reset so I guess it worked
So finally this trick seems to work for me, now the drain has slowed down to a lot extent. I have used phone regularly (calls, games, whatsapp, Music etc), the battery has dropped to 76% in around 8 hrs ( without stamina mode ) just expecting it to last for two days, and more than that with satmina mode.
Firmware: .77 (India)
Model: D5833
Hi Aakm,
As you said, the tricks mentioned so far on this thread were not really effective, at least for me as well. I could live with that 25-30% left at the end of the day (it is still much better than my old Samsung GS2), but I would be glad to be back to the 2-3 days of moderate use as I had during my first months of ownership.
So I'll try this out over the next days and hopefully it will work, thanks for suggesting! It sounds a bit like magic to me but let's give it a try
Best regards,
Alex
Unfortunately the full drain+charge did not change anything for me. I did not try to downgrade to Kitkat but as I've had good battery on Lollipop for several months, I doubt it would help.
Anyway thanks for your help, but I guess I'll simply wait until Android M comes out and take the opportunity for a full factory reset, hoping it will solve the issue.
Please guys mark the star on the bug report, the more people agree, higher will be the chance that google decide that it's time to fix it
https://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=190396
sorry wrong theme
Hey there, this happens to me quite often. When my phone is supposed to be sleeping, even though it's on Doze, it's keeps activating and draining battery. Anybody knows if there is a way of fixing it?
I did a factlry reset after buying it.
I used to see the same problem, but after update VTR-L29C432B151 it does not happen anymore
I was fixed with the last update my phone is running great, get a least 5 hours of SOT. And by the way the whole day on mobile data.
Sent from my VTR-L09 using XDA-Developers Legacy app
I guess Huawei missed something in their otherwise very good battery management system on this phone.
To those having issues with draining, you should remove facebook and facebook messenger.
They have managed to give the background processes that slip through battery management systems.
Even when one check in battery monitors like gsam, one see only Android system as the culprit whereas facebook is the one causing the wakelocks.
This keeps happening to me and in my country there's no update available, i even contacted the support and they told me there's no update just yet, altought I don't understand how that can be.
I'll try uninstalling facebook and messenger but is such a pain in the ass since I actually use those a lot.
Thanks, I'll keep posting.

Try going to lock screen clean up I'm battery options there you can choose to close Facebook and messenger once you lock the screen on you phone that should avoid it from waking up, you can also try to update your phone manually, here are many guides to do so and change also model version i changed mine to c432 vtr l09 and I have been getting the updates after that .

Same for me. Very bad battery time. Build: VTR-L29C432B151
Is this a software bug or maybe battery fault?
Same here. Very bad battery life. Seem like Google Account Manager top on the list under software. Next is Huawei Mobile Services.
I am on B151 firmware. Also i did factory reset yesterday (reinstall all apps manually). No difference.

I'm happy
I am with B151 too and I dont have drains . I get 5-5:30 of SOT everytime . I dont have drains overnight . I leave it with 100 , 8 hours later still 100% ( wi-fi , mobile data off ) . Probably it's some app draininf your battery !

Yes I use both messenger and facebook along with some apps like youtube , some banking apps + some wallpaper apps . Nothing too special .
Mine max is 2hrs SOT. Can't even last a day. Facebook and WhatsApp is the main culprit, sometimes it's Google play service running because there are apps update in playstore, but funny thing is even if I turn on auto update in playstore it will still hanging there not updating which cause it to wake the device all the while eating battery in the background. I don't have those issue with my previous Samsung s7 edge, battery size both are quite similar... Can only blame it on the huawei firmware is not as optimize as other brands..
I love the phone but if it can't allow me to use my favourite apps and need me to constantly charge my phone, it will be a big turn off..

Maybe need to wait till a custom ROM to solve the battery problem

Try disabling apps after lock screen it's weird that you get such sot, mine even with heavy use and mobile data on the whole day with Bluetooth is always 4 hours or more, right now I was trying a interactive governor tweak that I found on XDA and it's working great but you would have to root your phone and download the elemental x app, evento with out those tweaks my battery was doing great with no drain while screen off what so ever, I'm on the b151 update c432 variant .

hi.unhack installed apps and system apps?or just installed apps?
Hi All,
i experience similar things. the wifi is always showing battery is used, but the thing is that is turned off! wifi, 3g and Bluetooth are completely turned off, but battery is drained by it.
Anybody knows why wifi cannot be turned off or what else could keep it active?
I'm on VTR-L29C432B151
I'm currently showing SOT of 5h 1m with 20% battery left. This is L09 running B171 firmware.
BT is off unless I need it, but wifi and 4g are on all the time.
