is there any way to get the X Pure to store in the gallery and then play video files in WMV format?

Is there a way to play HD video (720p) on the Nexus One? I have tried some apps off the Market to play these videos but it comes up laggy. The file I was trying to play was an .mp4 file. The default Video app can't play mp4 files and the Market apps lag when playing it. Anyone successfully have HD video playing without lag??? Also, is there a recommended format/codec for the Nexus One?
It's not the resolution of the video per se, but rather the bit-rate that would be causing playback to lag. Bear in mind that 720 is unnecessary anyway as the phone is effectively 480 in landscape.
Use the free software Handbrake to re-encode to a more appropriate bit-rate and resolution.
Thanks. I will use FormatFactory to lower the nitrate.
I'm also a fan of Half Life 2 too.

Yes, It is possible to play 720p videos on nexus on. Actually its chipset supports. you can use mxplayer, it's my favorite player; also, you should convert your video to .mp4 and use H/W decoder. H/W decoder is not supported for other formats like flv.
when I play HD video (720 + 1080), there's no sound. Im using Mx Video Player and stock video player. I noticde that in Mx Video Player when I play Hd, it uses software render mode. Plz help

Which format you are trying to Play.. ?
Share link .. i ll try in my Note..
is this a video you have encoded yourself or one you have downloaded?
It's a video i copy from my friend (Ice Age2), dont know if he rip it himeself, format mkv. It play perfectly fine on his mac and his Iphone4(lag). My flv file from "Digital Tutors - Creating Stylized Female Character Concepts in Photoshop CS5" dont have sound and cant render in hardware more either (mx video player). I think its the software render problem cuz I just down and watch VS show on my phone just fine ( no sound when switch to software mode)
The standard Videos app on the note doesn't do DTS-encoded audio. Could be your problem?
I followed NZTechFreak's advice from his reviews of the Note and got DICE player off the market - plays everything I've thrown at it and does hardware decode for almost everything as well. Also decodes DTS sound. For some reason seems to use software decode for wmv files though, where the stock app will use hardware for those as well.
Dice player work .
tried some 1080p n 720p mkv clips with h264. ac3 and dts. all failed on the included Video Player n MXPlayer... is it codec issue?
Thats really strange cause mine plays all those formats on mx player.not much help just saying

Just try the MX video player codec (ARMv7) from the Android Market.
MKV videos. Does the Xperia Z playback MKV videos in its native video player?
If not, if I install MX Player, would MX Player play back MKV videos?
If neither of the two above options work, and I convert a MKV video....what do I convert it to? And how will the converted quality compare to the orginal MKV file?
Thanx very much for any help/anecdotes.

1. Google (or a search on XDA) is your friend, and searching before asking is an XDA rule.
2. Another rule is "No Questions in the General section". Thread reported.
Pretty sure the Z can natively play MKV's, if not MKV's will definitely work with MX Player
It's funny how some people care more about reporting threads than actually answering the question...
Wrong section or not - yes, stock Movies app does support MKV files.
