If your not on an at&t network you won't be able to receive an update. The link frome posted above me has a leaked kk version you can install. It's referred to as mlg. I recommend that method of obtaining kit Kat to non at&t users using an at&t device.
You can explain me how I star to upgrade.
I have the same case. My phone have root the la vega, I wanna upgrade to kk :s

I have a used Unlocked XT1064 US Version with build 21.85.23 and I want to upgrade to lollipop but it does not work OTA. I am assuming it's because this phone has a custom build? (it seems to also have TWRP). So I believe have that I have to do stock recovery, but my question is which stock recovery firmware do I need to install that will allow me to get the latest updates OTA? and Is this the best way to upgrade?
Thank you
Look in the "G 2014 Android Development" forum at a thread by Shawn5162 titled "Windows Tool Restore to Stock". Sorry, in this app I can't pull up the exact thread. Also it's going to matter who your carrier is since a few carriers won't push out an ota ever.

It's unlocked GSM... thanks I saw that tutorial, but are you sure that it provides the correct framework version for me?

It will. Also, look at the following post. The first 6 steps are a step by step for getting back to a stock kit kat phone. Everything after 6 will be for going up to Lollipop. You can get the image from Shawn's post for 21.85.17 and do it manually from the link below, or use the tool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/how-upgraded-consumer-cellular-moto-g-t2938151
Since it's a 1064 I'm guessing it's for use in the US. I'm also thinking that it won't OTA because either you need to drop back to 21.85.17 or you're on a carrier like Consumer Cellular that doesn't do OTA at all. If you still can't get OTA and want Lollipop, then you can do what the poster did in the above link and use all those steps to get to Lollipop. I would suggest what ever you do, read all the posts if possible because sometime you get helpful hints that make the process a lot smoother.
Also ignore the fact that the above is for a Consumer Cellular phone. They're standard 1064's, but will never get OTA's.

Help with Motorola razr i xt890 please
Hello everyone,
I am on this forum because my phone (I have a Motorola razr i xt890) stopped working and I am trying to find a way to fix it.
I unlocked the bootloader hoping to be able to reinstall the OS but so far I have failed to do it.
Could someone here please help me to reinstall the OS?
I have download the Blur_Version.91.2.26001.XT890.Retail.en.EU.zip ota files but I don't know how to out them on the phone..
I tried loading them via rsd lite 6.1.6 and got the following error message:
Please check the input file. Either XML format is wrong or image files associated with it are missing
Thank you all in advance
First of all, that file is not a firmware file. It is an upgrade file. That file is useless for what you want.
Before your problem were you on 4.4.2 kitkat? Or 4.1.2 jellybean?
You need to download the firmware that is the same or newer than what you were using.

Help with Motorola razr i xt890 please
Hi there,
Thank you for your reply. I had 4.4.2 kitkat which did make everything go really slow before eventually killed the phone.
The upgrade was done automatically..
So I can I restore my phone?
I don't mind having another version on Android as the phone is no longer under waranty
Currently there is no official 4.4.2 full image leaked currently. There are 3 options.
1) Wait till an official 4.4.2 image is leaked. It may never happen.
2) Hope some kind soul who has 4.4.2 will be able to backup the stock partitions into a flashable image. I don't have 4.4.2 installed, so I can't. Again may never happen if nobody steps up to do it.
3) Risk it and flash a 4.1.2 image and then upgrade to 4.4.2 again. But this one is risky, it could brick the phone if you downgrade... we don't know if anyone has tried it yet.

Is there a Retail.en.GB version anywhere?
I can not update mine with the OTA as it fails on Installing.
It get to 1/4 to a 3rd then Android Bot has a Red sign on it.
Motorola have been useless and want me to pay to have it sent to them to look at it?
Sometimes it's hard to get an image-ROM.
Here I've found the original OTA Update for XT890 EU (4.1.2 to 4.4.2):
Blur_Version.91.2.26001.XT890.Retail.en.EU.zip
download
Please, if you found an suitable 4.1.2 base ROM and told it to me, I would be very happy. Mostly the links you'll find won't work anymore. It's an old Phone...
I crashed my phone using the RazRi_JB_X-2014-Nov-BFQ-v7r6_F.zip from this threat

I just brought a NEW T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and upon powering up the phone for the first time I found out the phone was on Android 5.1.1 (N910TUVU2DOK2).
Should I return this phone?
The reason I am considering returning this phone is because it is my understanding that the SM-N910T on Android 5.1.1 CANNOT do the following:
1. Cannot be rooted (partially or completely).
2. Cannot be downgraded to Android 4.4.4.
3. Cannot have any apps installed that would unlock the mobile hotspot feature without having to go through your carrier to pay extra.
Can anyone confirm if the above restrictions are correct?
I did the same thing in january..I was so damn excited about getting a N910T that I thought I could do whatever I wanted with and I didn't read up (well enough) on developement and ended up with DOK2. It is true you can't downgrade....as of right now....but I have never had any issue at all with root or apps that require root. As far as the the hotsppt mod is concerned, I can't help too much with that info because b I use straight talk...but i think it's a hit or miss situation...I think the two most popular roms for our phones (Tekhds and Overdrives) have the mod built in but I'm not 100% sure.. but I think the only way you could get one without DOK2 would be used

You cannot downgrade, but as far as rooted there should be no problem doing that.

Just looking at the first couple of threads should have shown you that it can be rooted. RIF

Yea, you can be rooted on Android: 4.4.4 -- 5.0.1 (see this thread from the first couple of threads stickied: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=55989825 ). It would seem root on 5.1.1 is not possible.
On the offchance I am incorrect, please feel free to link the thread showing that 5.1.1. can be rooted on SM-N910T as I have already gone through all the sticky threads looking,....

YES! 5.1.1 CAN be rooted. Just download the newest version of CF-Auto-Root. Do NOT use the one in the thread above/ below. It's outdated. Search that thread however to find others who HAVE rooted their 5.1.1, like me.

I just got my phone and I am on the same version as the op. I just want to make sure that I do not brick my phone when flashinng. I am planning on using the latest version of twrp and cf autoroot.
So for twrp I'm going to flash
twrp-3.0.2-0-trltetmo.img.tar
And for cf autoroot I am going to flash
CF-Auto-Root-trltetmo-trltetmo-smn910t.zip
Which is the newest version. Just want to double check that I am not making a brick

Not sure if it's been fixed yet, but people have been having issues with TWRP 3, I'd stay with 2.8.
I've a feeling MM will be out VERY soon.

I don't even think I need 6GB, 4GB is plenty and I'm sure the 6GB issue will be fixed and knowing that Oxygen OS is opened and the device has unlocked Bootloader it beats waiting for Note 4 to get custom MM rom.
Trying to find a sure way to Root the Sprint variant of LG G4. I tried to do it with one thread I found but it didn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've only rooted Samsung devices through Odin. Can't figure out how to do this. Thanks in advance.

There is a very tiny chance that your LG G4 is somehow running an older version of the software, which is the only way to root (the later software versions, after you accept the software updates, cannot be rooted). Have you ever updated the operating system? Which version of the system are you running?

Thank you for some response. I have never updated the OS, but it's on ZVG. My friend gave it to me like that. It currently doesn't have any service connected to it. There's an update pending for it right now, but if I try to update it through WiFi it doesn't install the update, I'm thinking because there's no service to it anymore. I have noticed that you have to downgrade the OS. I have no clue how to do any of this.
The answer is: UsU.

The problem with UsU is it requires an earlier version of the firmware, I think ZVA or earlier? I think the guy here has already upgraded past that version (ZVB or later). I'm wondering if one day UsU will let you unlock devices that have been updated beyond ZVA?
