How do I disable or remove the Networked Apps menu option in Settings of the stock rom? I want to remove it and use a better app called Android Firewall to control access to data and wifi.

Is there a shortcut or widget to simply turn off/on the data roaming option?
It would be so much easier than going through home/ settings/wireless & network/ mobile networks
thank you
I use widgetsoid 2x.There is a option to add shortcut for system activities.
Also you can download a handy little app called 'Anycut' from the market which lets you create a shortcut to more or less any function. I use it for turning ON/OFF background data.

i have try widgetsoid x2 but system activities is limit, i don't see data-roaming only , there are network ,2g/3g , however can you explain me how?
I have also Anycut, ilt should be but with 2 actions , when i run shortcuts and i must enable the ratio . what's the name system activies for this?
Thank you
use the 2g 3g toggle from CurveFish. its very simple and neat app.
when you open the widget, u will be taken to mobile network settings page, when you can turn on/off the data roaming.
In CyanogenMod 11, there was a "half-on" option for location in the quick settings menu (one could go from off to network only to full GPS without opening the settings app)
Is there a way to do this on rooted stock Lollipop by flashing something, or is the only way to get this 3-way pin to install CM12? I turn off my location when I'm not using something map or speed based, and it's annoying when the weather app can't find out what region I'm in.
Dear Tasker-Masters,
My goal:
I want to limit the use of certain apps on my son's phone (running CM12.1) using tasker. Some apps (basically games) are time-limited, others shall not be accessible at all.
What I did (apart from deactivating the guest account):
I've defined a profile "No access" that activates when certain apps start (including play store and settings). This profile starts a task calling for a lock screen asking for a code. Locking settings is especially needed to deactivate the option to developer options and root access, access to other appstores, or the device admin section.
What my son did:
He found out, that the locked app appears in the app history. Clicking the locked app in the history immediatly brings up the lockscreen. However, there's a tiny time frame of maybe 0.1 seconds, where the locked app reacts to strokes on the display. This way, it's possible to scroll down the "setting" app until you get to the "security" and "device admin" section, and then to disable tasker from there. Now, profiles cannot read or react to whatever appears in the foreground of the display.
My question:
1. Can you think about a secure way to lock access to android settings? How would that be?
2. is it possible to deactivate the appearence of (only!) the android settings in the app history?
1. Create a profile -> Application -> Settings. This will trigger when someone goes into the settings app (yes even settings its an app).
In the task itself you can just "Go Home".
The task will trigger even if he goes to the settings from the recent app screen.
2. If your phone is rooted then just kill the settings app from running.
If not use AutoInput to press that "kill all" button (unfortunately).
Make sure also that tasker is a device administrator. You don't want your son to "accidentally" uninstall it.
You can't uninstall device admin apps without turning off that setting and he cant go into settings.
I hope these guidelines will help you.
So here's the thing. I always use the *#*#4636#*#* code to change to LTEonly/WCDMAonly/GSMonly. To be honest, it seems quite a task to go into the dialer every time to enter the settings option. I've tried using the Network mode changer apps on play store, but they all seem to change it to LTE preferred rather than LTE only. I wanted to know if there was a way i could create a shortcut to enter these settings, or maybe a widget that would allow me to change the settings like this.
Settings >> Mobile networks >> Preferred network type.
Basic battery saving tips that we forget every time:
1. Don't use backup apps(migrate, titanium etc), if you don't have any choice then when flashing Wipe "Dalvik / ART Cache", "System", "Data", "Internal Storage" and "Cache". NOTE: If you don't want to wipe Internal Storage (probably because you can't store files on PC), delete folders created from apps, "Android" folder and (if have) cache or temp files.
2. Use Magisk Canary(like beta but stable than beta)
Make sure you have these magisk modules:
-Busybox for Android NDK.(helps with root apps)
-Debloater (Terminal Emulator). Only if ROM has bloatware you don't use.
-If device has 3 or more GB RAM, install Swap Torpedo module.
-Universal GMS Doze.
3. AdAway app(remove other ad blockers you use, because this blocker is the best). This app is available only on F-Droid!
4. Go to your Settings app and (if you have them) change these things:
NOTE: Names/locations will differ!
Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Scanning settings > Wi-Fi/Bluetooth scanning settings to OFF.
Display > Screen Saver to OFF. Display > Tap to sleep to OFF.
Security & Privacy > Find my device to OFF.
Security & Privacy > Location to OFF (when possible).
Security & Privacy > Device admin apps > disable bloatware or unused apps to OFF.
Accessibility > apps services to OFF (if possible).
Google > Ads > Opt-out of personalization.
5.These settings here may have many locations, so I only name them: Button gestures (like double tap for camera, volume wakes device...) to OFF (if possible). System profiles to OFF (if possible).
6. Make sure your apps' settings are configured to not drain battery (turn off Twitter useless notifications, disable sync for apps you don't need, etc.). to remove/replace them), or make sure you have ad-free apps, search playstore you can always find ad-free apps as alternative
great advance, I'm almost using every of it too. In almost all of my devices.
