I use a TV card in my PC. There are already Remote apps on the market for starting/stopping FF/RW and Volume Movies and Songs, but none that I can bind keys to use for my TV Card.
Realistically, only need Channel up/down, Volume up/down at a minimum, but being able to input channel, flashback to last channel would be nice.
I would like to see an app that makes the Hero into a remote control for Spotify. It would be great to control the music from anywhere in my apartment without the need to walk over to my computer.
There is a similar app called Gmote that controls VLC video/music playback, so doing the same with Spotify should be a possibility.. I hope..
You could just have Spotify on your Hero and use headphones.
Found this:

Will test it when I get home from work, and give you all a review.
Works perfect on my Hero with MoDaCo 2.3, thanks for the tip
I got the opportunity to test Remotify this weekend, and it does exactly what it's supposed to.
There is a simple interface with play/pause, previous/next and Volume. The remote also shows you what song you are playing.
Setting up the remote is easy, as the server is a single exe-file, and you only enter the pincode for the server.
The remote itself searches for the server, so it's easy to connect.
Remotify is simple, and does exactly what it says.
Remotify with Donut (Android 1.6)
Is it still working for you guys under Android 1.6.
I can install client and server OK but the client side is frozen and the control buttons are unresponsive.
Thanks
For you windows guys we have just released a video demo of remoteless, An iPhone remote for Spotify on Windows.

ReSpot
ReSpot is a Spotify Remote control for android - probably the most feature rich remote for Spotify available.
Visit http://h3x.se for more info.
It requires a premium spotify account.
Ive done plenty of searching for this and cant seem to find one that will do what I want.
I use my HTPC as the receiver for my surround sound and would love for there to be a way to control the volume of my pc from my phone. Right now ive been using gmote which is cool for playing music and such but outside of that its pretty worthless. I really need an app that connects like gmote but will let me control the master volume of the pc and not just the volume of media. Some of the otherones ive seen work only with specific HTPC program like XBMC or etc.
Is there a way to connect mono bluetooth headphone and play media files while the voice commands are in place?
I have seen hacks that disable the voice commands but is there any way to have both?
There have been many great apps to stream local media on PC/laptop to chromecast. But what if the PC is not in the same room with your TV?
I have got a laptop upfloor connected to the network with cable (can connect to wifi if necessary), so I don't want to carry it everytime I want to cast something, or going upstairs to pause and resume playback. Is either one of the following scenario achievable?
1. run some kind of server on my laptop so I can access the media using my phone, then I use my phone to cast media(local on laptop) to chromecast.
2. cast the media from laptop with chrome browser, but then use my android phone to do simple playback control, e.g. pause, resume, fast forward the video.
Any chance a combination of server + app can do that?
Check videostream extension for chrome and videostream app to ocntrol playback
Plex is great for this too
There are 999 thousand ways to do this
I prefer using BubbleUPnP. Just google it.
I am using XBMC media server on my pc and Yatse as a remote control for xbmc on my phone. This setup supports among others Chromecast.
