Hi guys, I'm going to buy a carbon skin for my g4, tired of bulky cases. I already know dbrand, but never buyed anything. Slickwraps is new for me, the price is the same 19$ and it also has side and power button protection, but the price is for complete package (front, rear, side) and I only need rear and maybe side (11$ on dbrand but without side and power button). Someone already tried these skins for his g4?
You have a Dbrand review right in this forum page.

I have used both dbrand and Slickwraps before.
Honestly both are nice but dbrand seemed to always have better aligned cutouts.
Before the fake accounts come rushing in we suggest giving us a peek.
Not only do we have have the best warranty we stand 100% behind our products.

Is it really a question?! Slackwraps sux DBRAND RULZ
(And no, this is not a fake account. You guys just don't have dbrand's swag.)
I have bought two dbrand skins for my G4 (wood and carbon fiber) and love them. They both look and feel great. Unfortunately I can not say anything about slickwraps because I never tried them. But I can definitely recommend dbrand.

Both are nice.
I have used both brands quite a few times and can honestly say that either is worth the small price they ask.
I do think dbrand has slightly better aligned cutouts, but slickwraps cutouts are not bad at all.
@slickwraps if you want to change my mind send me one of your skins to test and I will put up a review for it.

I've decided to give a fitted skin a go, and obviously those two names came up. Both have pretty impressive websites and nearly similar options (as far as my taste is concerned) so obviously it's a hard choice.
I'd like to hear from people who've already bought and used them for a while, regarding wear-and-tear, discoloration, etc.
Also, how easy (if at all possible) is it to put a case over them?
Feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!!!

I'm still waiting for my slickwrap though, would love to give you a some input once I get it.
Edit: FYI, slickwrap cover more coverage (sides) than dbrand's skin. While slickwrap contain 3 pieces just got the back while dbrand is just one piece.
Sent from my HTC ONE M8 HK
Main differences:
Dbrand
-Back: 1 piece, so it covers the antenna strips (which I prefer) and wraps around the sides but stops at the volume/card slots.
-Bottom: Included, stops at antenna strip.
-Top: None
Slickwraps
-Back: 3 pieces, does not cover the antenna strips, wraps around the sides around the volume button and slots.
-Bottom: Included, stops at antenna strip.
-Top: Included, covers all black besides the power button.
Personally I prefer the dbrand because you can get it without the HTC cutout and leave plenty of real estate for custom decals on top. See attached. And I usually have a bumper on so I don't need the sides covered.
If I were to go no case, I would do dbrand bottom and back with slickwraps top ;p
EDIT: I'm using the dbrand matte black with no cut-out with a custom car decal I bought on ebay on the Spigen Ultra Clear Smoke bumper case.
I don't know about slickwraps, but it's pretty easy to put a case on the dbrand, only thing is the bottom decal might slide if you don't do it carefully.
Also, for applying with the decals that wrap around and bend, I used a hair dryer to heat it up so it bends easily.
I haven't used dbrand, but slickwraps are amazing. The texture on the carbon fiber wraps is so nice, doesn't slip out of my hands anymore.
I just put it back on my phone after removing it months ago and it sticks like new. I run it with a tempered glass protector and it feels very protected.
They have a new natural series made with real leather that I'll be ordering soon
Go with dbrands. Slickwraps customer service is god awful and the quality isnt as god as dbrands in my opinion. Took over a month for me to get my skin with no reply to emails the whole time. Look at the Slickwraps thread here and you can see a lot of people have trouble with their orders.

Slickwraps
I think I'll go for the slickwrap just because I like that it doesn't cover the antenna bands.
Also from what I've read on reddit, their cutouts are a bit more precise.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! It's been very helpful
I'd love to see some examples. I've always hated cases but have never used a skin.

I buy Nillkin for long time (& cases too), H+ Pro provides best experience by my opinion, it's 0.2mm and that's the key idea when you simply touch the screen same like without tgsp.
0.3mm (H) doesn't have rounded glass corners, but if you use H with their case (sparkle or frosted series, I didn't try others yet), you don't feel glass isn't rounded anymore due to case sides. Frosted case is very clean, matte & rough, the phone doesn't run out of my hands
Sadly, frosted isn't ready for oneplus 3 yet, I will certainly buy too.
That's my opinion about nillkin products, the quality is the same for several years.
Wow. Awesome. So glad about full coverage protector being available. Has anyone dealt with this company before? Wonderingly qualify and stuff.
Did anyone catch the eta for Nillke tempered glass to arrive at their residence. Looks like it ships parcel post from China..
Edit: Bought Bepak tempered glass off Oppomart. 3 pcs and shipping for $18

I've ordered one but it won't be here for 25-35 days.
The 3 comes with a screen protector on it. I doubt it would get much better coverage without getting one of the 2.5D without ones that curve at the edge.
Has anyone had any luck with a wraparound one? I'm probably going to get an Otterbox if they acknowledge the camera API bug and fix it. I'm concerned that a wrap around screen protector would get in the way of a case.

Hi Guys,
I ordered the sandstone back cover with the 5t as I read on the oneplus forums that the back cover that comes with the phone removes or messes up the paint. TBH the sandstone one sucks too. Is there a cover that does not mess up with the phone's body? Also is there any good tempered glass which can be applied even if there is a cover?
Thanks

Any case gonna do the same thing unless you clean you device regularly ( the dust goes inside the case through open cut outs and then the friction between phone and case mess it up even more) by taking it off the case. I personally do this once a day and it works for me. As for extra protection, get a dbrand skin for the back.

Thanks. Can you please share the link for that dbrand? All of my Samsung phones have GS protector but for the 5t they don't make it 360 degree protection. The pricing is same though

P.S. Should I keep on using the silicon cover that I got with the phone then?

You can purchase the dbrand skins from here.
https://dbrand.com/shop/oneplus-5t-skins
Go for the black-dragon if you're looking for some grip. Once you got it on the back, use any clear silicon case to provide some sort of drop protection as well. As for the provided silicon case, there's no harm in using it as long as keep your device dust free regularly.

Yeah i know that skinnova skins are quite cheaper but there so many reviews about them not having a great quality like dbrand. There's no mention of the use of 3M material on their site and personally I've seen its mahogany wood skin which looks like shiny plastic wrap. So basically it all comes to this end. If you want some premium quality and a great fit, go with dbrand else if you wanna save some bucks, go for skinnova skins. And don't go for the fedex shipping, you can get the untracked usps shipping to save some bucks on dbrand as well.

I've ordered dbrand skins with untracked shipping for two times and it usually got to me in less than 20 days in both the cases so i guess, not getting your parcel is highly unlikely. Plus I'd suggest you you to do the payment with paypal so your money is in safe hands.

Apparently both use the same material and adhesive
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/choose-dbrand-or-gadgetshieldz.730798/
The only difference between the installation of a protector and a skin is the application, the former needs a soap solution while the latter needs a hair dryer, right?

I get mixed reviews regarding the skinnova skins material quality and leaving a residue after removing the skins. You can check out the other skins comparison threads to get a even better idea. As for the application, yes a hairdryer is a must for the skin whereas a soap solution isn't always necessary. I'll be providing a more detailed review on the dbrand skin for the 5t once i get mine.
I missed out on the indiegogo Dbrand grip. I have checked ebay and could not find any. I know rhino shield has a similar option but alot of the reviews are saying that skins are peeling when case is applied.
So my question is does anyone know where i can get a Dbrand Grip or is anyone selling one ?
Unfortunately, you can't get the Dbrand Grip anymore. I even tweeted them and asked and they didn't reply. I fear if you didn't get one when the Indiegogo was on, then you're not going to get one. It was like a one-time thing.

I would stay away from the Grip. Mine ended up breaking down after normal use. The side buttons hardly worked after the few months I had it. It was great while it lasted but I expected a lot more out of an expensive case. If you can find one for sub $20 new I would say it's worth it. Otherwise stay away.
