Difference between N9200 and N9208 - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any thoughts. Both N9200 and N9208 support the same LTE bands. I assume the difference is something to do with level of Chinese language support? I ask as I have N9208 and this set to English does not work consistently for keyboard predictions and S Pen handwriting input, not as good as the UK only Note 4.

I did some research. Looks like both models the same except N9208 is dual SIM. So both probably have special support for Chinese.

Perhaps I need to reset. So your S Pen input instead of keyboard with the 4 quadrants works okay?

I've installed SwiftKey so that may help with improved predictions.

Hey mate, how did you go with English language support issues on your Note 5, as I'm planning to get 9208, but want to make sure, everything works as normal. Any help is appreciated.

both N9200 and N9208 are dual-sim
but N9200 it have extra CDMA bands (2G CDMA - CDMA800 , 3G CDMA- BC0(800), 3G TD-SCDMA B34(2010), B39(1880))

I have a N9200 HK model which I got imported. Now I am using the phone in India, is it possible to flash N9208 firmware on N9200 from sammobile via odin as both are dual sim phones with same hardware.

so... when I put rom from N9208 to N9200 should be ok with bands on second sim ?

I am quite certain that N9208 ROM won't work on N9200 since none of the other N9208 ROMs work on N9208 (not even N9208 Indian ROM works on Taiwan variant) (pretty differently built hardware maybe). Since there is no cross-device compatibility of N9208 with any other, hence I am guessing that vice-versa also may not be possible. It could return an error in ODIN during flashing.
Although, I'd say you may be lucky if you try downloading from sammobile and flashing through ODIN. Let us know how it goes, it may be helpful for folks who have been trying to install cross-device stock ROM on Note5 (especially us N9208 Taiwan variant users). :fingers-crossed:

Note 5 SM-N9200 HK CN TW

Lets share some info about this..
HK Note 5 N9200 has gapps installed. Definitely has less developement on this device compare to N920* International version.
China Note 5 will not have gapps installed. 100% Firm unless someone modded it.
Anyone got their note 5 from hk/cn/tw already ?
I just ordered one on eBay from Taiwan.

Is in N9208 Google apps and other international languages?
I haven't received it yet sorry
I got an offer for SM-N9200 but I am hesitant whether it has google services installed and all that or not. It is from HK though so it makes sense for it to have those, but would still love confirmation either way. Once you get it, let us know
EDIT: nevermind, found a video that shows that N9200 actually comes with Play Store etc. youtube.com/watch?v=ucGQJA8KJR4
would this model work her in slovenia?

hk version = gapps will always comes with the device preinstalled...
china version = no gapps preinstalled...
note 5 is still not out in china, only s6 edge+, got mine from HK confirm with gapps
Yeah, all android phones come with gapps in HK.
Hi there can someone confirm wether the Note 5 N9200 dous comes with playstore on stock. I'm looking to purchase one here in the uk.
Just got my N9200 in HK yesterday, i can confirm that GAPPS are included.
Anyone able to find a root kernel for this variant?
Can anyone please tell me if the N9200 will get LTE on the Canadian Rogers network?
I just found this link supposedly with a root for the N9200
http://apk.tw/thread-706898-1-1.html
Do any of you guys speak Chinese and can translate? Is this trustworthy?
I'm wondering, is there any other difference between Galaxy Note 5 N920 and N9200 beside the fact that N9200 is dual sim and N920 is not?
I found them both in my country and the N9200 Chinese version (I think) looks nice if it's the same as N920 but is also dual SIM. It's just another point for it.
I have a N9200 one. It is the same especification as N920. I was thinking that I would be able to put a sd card in slot 2 as A3,A5 and A7 samsung's phones but It is not possible???
The difference between HK and China version, that China's doesn't come with Gapps, and doesn't have app drawer.
Its not a problem to install Gapps, but you'll have to use different launcher for the drawer.
Still waiting for root. I want to install some clean rom with out 300 samsung apps...

Yeah bro, all the reviews said you cannot..
@JN9 - Well, at least it's dual-sim, if you need that. Too bad it doesn't have a microSD card slot, because Android M allows users to use cards as internal storage for apps and more, but that's that. We have to deal with it.

May I ask why is that? I was confused by N920c and N920i. Anyway finally I bought 920c randomly.
Basically 920c covers almost entirely every network in the world
In the UK you can use all 4g networks with 920c
But 920i only covers some of the network not just UK other European countries networks to
european users: 920C or 920CD (dual sim)
Thanks for the responses all
Will sm n920c work in Indian airtel 4g
does n920c and 920t firmwares are compatible?
N920c or N920i for 4g network in India
I also have similar dilema will N920c work with airtel 4g band 40 in India

N9208 ROM Compatibility

What happens if I install a N920C/i/(or any single SIM) ROM on my N9208 (dual SIM) phone? Only SIM 1 will work or my phone will be bricked?
Compatible with all N920C roms.
Thanks for looking in

I just installed the ROM without any patches. Only SIM 1 will work so don't worry if SIM 2 doesn't work.

I don't know anything about morelocal2 and I did not know about the dual SIM firmware I also do not know what language you are looking for. I do know that for the 920I the Australian firmware has more language choices than the Singapore firmware I was on. If you can, I would look for an Australian version of your firmware (I am not even sure if there is one) and flash it using Odin. Be sure the bootloader is the same or newer and that your storage is the same (for the dual they may all be the same) or your flash may fail.
Good luck

Question Help to clarify doubts about CSC changing with Samkey

Greetings folks, i have been reading a bit about changing the csc of the phone, I own a s21 Ultra G998B version and its branded with a owo rom, i live in Chile, and the Claro company of course is not up to date with the otas, and also i want to flash a clean rom with no bloatware. I read that with samkey i can change the CSC to an OXO (mine is owo) rom so i can then flash the muti csc rom. I also read that in order for samkey to work i have to roll back to may update? i'm currently on august update. am I correct in the process? can anyone recommend to which csc i can change so i won't turn my phone into a mess
thanks to all who can provide some light jeje
Isn't CHO the Multi-CSC Firmware for Chile?

hi, yes it is, but i looked in samfirmware and the cho version is until august, so i think it would be the same? mine is chl which is for CLARO company and is also in august update, i would like september updates so i can try the andy 12 beta
When I bought it, it had May firmware. I changed CSC before any other update .
So , may update is working for SamKey.
Otherwise, you need to flash with latest Odin the may firmware of your CSC you want (downgraded)
Hello, could someone please tell me, is it possible to flash g998u1 with Thailand firmware, Chinese, etc?

No to both. Thailand FW is configured for the Exynos SoC. The China FW, even though it's configured for the Snapdragon SoC it's not compatible with the US Unlocked variant. Do you live in Thailand? If so I'm curious why you aquired a US device. We often see users buying non native devices, maybe they got a good price, maybe they moved out of their region, maybe it's a company issued phone but it's a pain when call features or 5G don't align with your service provider. Flashing non stock firmware often causes more problems than it solves. Samsung is moving closer and closer to proprietary software for individual models, mix and match is becoming a thing of the past.

I live in Kaliningrad, Russia. This device I've bought for 30usd, new, boxed,, here, in Russia, so I was looking for ways to make it work as a Russian device(full menu translation, bands, etc.). Actually no matter, which language is used, at first I had troubles using android 11-there was no esim. Than using abd I flashed it to oneui 4.0, esim works, all lte bands are supported.

$30 USD is an awesome deal! If all bands and esim are functional that's probably as good as it gets. Unfortunately Exynos compatible FW which is dominant in Russia can't be installed on your device. Gboard may be your best option for Russian Language.
