Anyone know of a case that doesn't hold the keyboard? And, hence no magnets? Just want to carry the main device by itself in the smallest possible volume.
Thanks,
Krip
i search for something similar (didn't wanna start a new thread).
i'm looking for a case that can hold the device itself and the keyboard in two different pockets within the same case (can be a totalyl closed case, where you have to pull out the athena like the universal pda case from pielframa, but with two pockets). plus it has to have a very solid belt clip and should be as small as possible.
Skins or case just for the screen
Well im looking for a Skin similar to whats available for Ipods and various other phones out there.
Just want it for the Screen and not the keyboard. So at least the screens protected whilst in my pocket.
Any help would be appreciated as this is the only niggle i have at the moment!
Cheers

If I understand you right tomchap, I'm looking for the same thing...a silicon skin for the main unit (preferably with a hard clear plastic cover for the screen). That would make the Athena slim enough to fit in most of my pockets and stop and serious scratches or damage to the device.
Have been looking too....something like this but in better quality in various colours.

Thats the one, Skins type case
Yep thats def what im looking for, like these

A clear see through plastic cover / skin would be ideal.
Ive looked everywhere, even the usually most reliable eBay and theres hardly anything available for the Ameo.
Loads of screen protectors but thats about it.
You would think someone out there would make one?
Rucksack case for Athena without keyboard
Am also looking for a case, but a reasonably weatherproof one that I can attach to my rucksack shoulder strap to hold the Athena when I am outdoors using it for digital mapping. I have the perfect one for my Hermes but am going to test the Athena to try the larger screen.

The DIMENSIONS (Height x Width x Thickness): 178x115x20 mm are right for Ameo that is 133.5x98x16 mm

Both excellent suggestions, thanks very much. I ended up with the Pouch 20 because I like the fit better and it is thinner, therefore easier to carry on my rucksack. Took it out for a test ride yesterday. Both case and Athena digital mapping worked great.

Can you post some pictures ?
case 20 link
If its the case I've got then the 'pouch 20' is an all in one case designed for digital cameras and similar size units. I bought mine online from jessops here in the United Kingdom.
If I am wrong and this is NOT the case 20 talked about then forgive & sorry.

My pda is NOT a u1000 but similar. Just stumbled on this thread. This pouch 20 is smaller than u1000 so Ive just been told so sorry for the error.Must be a different one.

How did you managed to put the U1000 inside ?
U1000 size, 9.5 x 2.2 x 13.4 cm
Rezo 20 size, 7.5 x 3 x 10.5 cm
BTW, i saw something similar, but since it is 'zipper', it is quite hard to take out/in without scratching the unit.

Nice! Thanks for the post. I can't wait to see if it will be designed to allow you to continue to connect the keyboard to it. An option of sorts. The only negative I can think of is that it'll stick to your pocket when you try to put it in there and take it out. Same thing happens to my iAudio MP3 player with its silicone case. Maybe they'll have a belt clip for it!!!
Pouch Bag
Some of these look interesting

Anyone tried a Lowepro D-Res case for size?
If so, which one fits best?

Here is the one I meant, same as the one in the link above from Johnnykok:
http://www.jessops.com/Products/ProductDetail.aspx?SkuId=22844
I have now found the Lowepro MX 20 case to be the best solution for hooking to a rucksack while riding (see http://www.parkcameras.com/ProductD...roogle/productID/827/groupID/5/categoryID/20) and available in many shops on Tottenham Court Rd. I have added some waterproofing but not yet tested it in very wet weather since the weather has been pretty good these past weeks. I used the Pouch 20 in serious wet weather without waterproofing and found that it did not stay dry inside. I have decided that in very wet weather I will transfer the Athena to a small WXtex waterproof bag I found in an outdoor store.
So did anyone locate some sort of casing just for the device.Out of curiousity
Case For Just Your Unit
Although i am and have made a change for a new mobile(I still have 1 more X7501 that im keeping)I stumbled across this that i thought i would share with the community:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/dlcase/htc-x7500-designio-leather-case_2722.htm
Carry just your unit and not the keyboard whilst you are out doing business!
Hope this helps those whom are looking for a case to take with them when they are doing business.
Regards
As the title says I am looking for a case which one might attach to the arm an which lets you view the screen.
You can use an iPod classic case.
I have one, and the X1 fits in lengthways a bit tight, and with maybe 7mm width to spare. But it's held very tightly, good visibility, access to front buttons.
Since it is a neoprene sort of material, there is more than sufficient flexibility.
The one I have is by Xtrememac - just had a quick look on their page & can't see the ipod classic. As I recall, there is very little difference in the dimensions between the classic & the touch. Google the dimensions, you should be OK.
Will check later, thannx so far.
Will run p90x on it and hopefully get a good deal on an Bluetooth Heartrate Monitor for Run GPS SOftware ;-)
I don't know about the ipod classic, but that seems off to me. Use the case of a first generation iphone. It has the same girth as the X1 (2x width + 2x height) as well as the same height as the X1. A soft iphone sports housing with a clear front will be your best bet with the best fit. I got one off ebay, and it works perfectly.
Does anyone know of a good handlebar mount for bicycles or motorcycles? The ones i find on Amazon don't have any reviews, so i was just wondering if anyone has any first hand experience.
I haven't find any reviews on this topic. I used to bave a Samsung S65 bicycle handlebar, but the whole thing was wrong. This didn't meet my expectations. I suggest You a DIY concept, if You have the time and skills to do it.
Nite Ize
Nite Ize HandleBand. You can find it on Amazon (sorry it won't let me post a link)
Thanks for the input guys. I'll have to check out the Handleband. Thanks to the cold lately, I haven't been too rushed to find one, but I'd definitely like to get one set up before spring.
On my old original droid, I had a handlebar mount that was made specifically for it, and it was great. But since then, I haven't seen many phones with a mount made specifically for them.

I use this one with my HTC EVO 4G LTE and I have the [email protected] coming and will use it as well on my Buell Ulysses.
It is super sturdy, and tons of mount options...

Does that have an adjustable height? It doesn't look to be tall enough for the g2
I've been using one of these in my car for over a year now (with a Galaxy Nexus) and it's great. I'd imagine the handlebar mounted holder would work just as well. Currently have an Otterbox Commuter and it fits perfectly with the car mount I got from them.
Slip Grip - LG G2 (Non-Verizon)
Slip Grip - LG G2 (Verizon)
The slip grip looks pretty awesome. I have an incipio case rather than an otter box, but I may get the otter box so I can try that out. Thanks for the link
What I've been using is a universal "Spider Podium" off eBay/amazon for $7. Just a rubberized spider with legs you can bend however you'd like, great as a tablet stand also.
Is the spider podium pretty secure on a road bike? It looks like it would be a good option if it holds tight. Does it not easily slide or roll over on the handle bar?

I haven't received my G2 yet, I have my HTC EVO 4G LTE in it with a Seidio case. The lower arms are spring loaded to keep tension on the claws.
You can go to RAMS website and check all the mounts. I have 3 different mount for my bike. I can carry the Nexus 7 for GPS or my cell or both depending on my needs.
We used these in the military and I trust my equipment in them.
Anyone replace out your strap/band yet? How does it look?

Yep, hated the stock band. I purchased this one... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001EYVBJA/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Super quick review... Matches the watch like it was built for it. I've had this brand before and it held up well which isn't surprising, it feels like a piece of decent quality. Quicker to take on and off and less likely to drop your watch which is true all of straps of this type versus a buckle. Regrets = zero.
Sweet! I just ordered one too....

Its much easier to match up the stainless than various gold, rose, graphite, ti, etc. bands/straps/bracelets. I would consider taking it to a larger shop where they have a good inventory and try to match it up.

I am curious about how you charge the watch with a metal band. Could someone please post a picture of your watch on the stock charger to show how you do it?

The magnet is strong enough to hold the charger to the phone in most any position including the watch laying on its side. You can do it however you want.
Got the SUPER engineer Type II based on reviews
Amazon item B00CSE7IJ2
I know it seems like it's a bit pricey compared to others like the Hadley Roma but I'm super impressed with the quality. It's very heavy and the edges are not rounded over like it was mass produced. The links that can be removed for sizing have screws and they are super easy to adjust. I also like the buttons on the flip part of the band closure.
$72 bucks is still a hell of a lot cheaper than those rip off apple metal bands. Can't imagine them being any higher quality than this.
Important note: the 2.5mm fat boy pins that come with this larger band do not fit into the body of the LG Urbane because the lugs or tips are 0.8mm instead of the tiny ones that came on the existing leather strap band. For now, I'm using the pins that came with the watch, which are standard 22mm, but with smaller lugs. I could not find another vendor who made a 2.5mm pin with smaller tips since these larger bands are designed to go on Seiko's or diving watches.
Update: My plan is to put the fat boy pins that came with the watch in my dremel and use a micro diamond file ($13 on amazon) to reduce the lug down to a diameter that works in the Urbane. I will post an update if it works out and post links to the files I bought. Don't see why it wouldn't work and I don't think there is any other choice if you want to utilize the fat boy pins...which I do.
Stay tuned...pics coming.
Peter
ptchan5, could you explain in greater detail the Fatboy 2.5mm lug and LGs .8mm tips?
Keep us posted in the project

I like this also.
Metal bands are not my thing.
Fat boy 22mm Spring Pins MOD
This is a follow-up to my previous post.
I used a dremel to reduce the diameter of the lugs on the 2.5mm fat boy spring pins that come with the heavy diver watch metal bands. I searched high and low and I believe all the thick spring pins come with 0.8-1.0mm lugs at the tips which are too big for the body of the LG Urbane. Turns out the pins that come with the Urbane are actually smaller than the holes in the watch body, but the fat boy pins are just a wee bit too large.
This MOD took about 5-8 minutes to do and worked perfectly! Now you can use the spring pins that were supposed to go with the larger metal band.
All you need to do is insert the spring pin into the dremel about half way and turn the dremel on to low setting. I bought the cheapest set of micro files I could find on Amazon Prime for $14 bucks and I ended up only using a single file out of the set. The one I used was the 90 degree square one so I could easily just hold it up to the lug for a minute or two and moved it forward and backward while watching the lug leave metal residue on the file. The 316L stainless steel pins are not soft metal! So it's nearly impossible to mess this one up. Once I got the pins to be reduced down in size visually I tested them in the watch before proceeding to do the rest of the pin ends.
Again, don't waste your time searching ebay or Amazon for 2.5mm pins with smaller lug pins. They don't exist. Besides by the time you buy them and find out they don't work you could have owned a nice set of micro files and been done with the MOD on the original pins that shipped with the watch band.
Very happy with the results. Ping me if none of this makes sense. Enjoy!
** Apparently can't post the pics, so ping me and I'll email them to you; maybe someone else can post them for me **

That's not a factor for me. I'm getting that one because I liked the design best. I'm sure it would fit the urbane just fine.
I'm not much of a watch geek and have never paid too much attention to what strap I'm using. I used a NATO strap with my Pebble and the original straps with both my Pebble Steel and LG G Watch R.
However, I keep reading how uncomfortable the Urbane's strap is and it got me thinking: could I use the one in the Watch R with the Urbane? I find that one pretty comfortable.
Gorgeous!
Finally received my new metal bracelet and it beats anything I have ever seen, it really makes my watch look fair superior than even an apple watch
I have the regular Turbo. I was wondering if the Nylon backed model handled the heating better or worse or the same. Mine gets rather warm, even if it hasn't been a problem yet. If the Nylon handles it better, I was thinking of switching. Anyone have any experience with this?
I have my nylon one in a speck case and haven't noticed anything...
Sent from my Droid Turbo.
Cnet's video review specifically notes that the phone gets very hot ~despite the fabric cover~ so I would imagine it's handling it about the same.
