Hello everybody,
I'm asking myself which of these two phones I should buy. The older and less powerful S3 mini I8190, which I can root and but on a custom rom, or the S3 mini I8200, which is more powerful but which cannot be rooted. Do you have an answer for me?
Greetings,
Redte

Neither, they're both very old by now. If you're on a budget buy a moto g from last year. It's great and it will get updates.
Both have root. The i8200 however does not have custom kernel neither custom ROM.
I have the i8200L and it's great with stock and xposed, but the battery is a joke and sometimes i miss some AOSP-based ROMS.
I don't regret my acquisition by the way.

Hi, I'm planning to purchase a Galaxy s3 mini.
Which version should I buy for the best compatibility with the published roms and kernels?
And do CM developed ROMs for this phone are bugless?
I ask because the roms for galaxy s2 are not fully compatible because of lack of source code.
I'm looking for a bugless rom with good battery life and faster ui than the stock.

Only one s3 mini is available not others. If you are talking about gti8190 or gti8190N or gti8190L I think i8190 but these are really very simiral and have same Roms. I8190n had NFC support but I don't know what it is! I8190L I think is for north America but I'm not sure...
Hello Friends !
I m Amit from Kolkata. I have one GALAXY GRAND DUOS (GT-I9082) & one GALAXY S4 MINI (GT-I9192). Both handset using from last 2 years. I used many type of custom Rom but I haven't pleased from those Rom due to several issue. Now I am using Original Firmware on both handset. My question " Anyone can tell which ROM is bugs or Issue free for these above mentioned handset" ? I m boring from these original firmware. (Because this like daily drink milk and eat bread type). I want new stable, battery consumed preventive, Both SIM card work and smooth Rom.
Anyone help??
Thanks a lot.
Use cm12.1 with any custom kernel of your choice
If your device is two years . its the time to change your battery. Samsung device all I think so.
Hi, I have an important question about compatibility. So, the question is if CyanogeMod 11 (4.4 KitKat) is compatible with my phone(S3 Mini i8200N)? Obiously I don't want to brick my phone. If it's compatible with my phone, will it be slower? or will it work the same? or better?
Thanks, regards from Venezuela
As far as I know, there is no KitKat-Rom for our device. There arn't even CM-Roms.
Hello All,
is there any technical reason(s), why there are so few Custom ROMs for the S5 Mini, in comparison to older Samsung Galaxy smartphone models?
I see for example there's (unofficial) LineageOS 16 (Android P) for S4 mini, but not for S5 mini.
Thanks in advance for any reply.
I think you're failing to look in the right places.

The only thing that I failed in my post was to have forgotten the 16 for the LineageOS version available for S4 mini, but not for S5 mini. Of course I know the "Android development" forum for S5 mini.
I think it all depends on the available time for developers. New devices imply new efforts and learning curves, besides having the phone for dev/testing the ROM.
hello folks,
I am considering using my S3 Mini (I8200N) again. I want to load a custom rom. Unfortunately I can't find any custom roms for the model number. does anyone know if there are custom roms and which ones are still recommended?
