Got my Teclast X98 air 3G two days ago with Win 10 + Android 5.0.
I left Win 10 untouched, but flashed Mirek's v5.0 (thank you very much for the ROM!!) to get rid of all the chinese bloatware.
Everything works very smooth except that I am experiencing really slow WiFi speeds on Android compared to e.g. my Xperia ZL.
Win 10 WiFi speeds are great!
I have bios 2.05 installed.
Could anyone help me with that issue?
Found the WiFi Tweak, but it only seems to be for Win.

For the fritzbox and speedsport owners (Atheros based AP): we are working on the issue with our Wi-Fi chipset provider, we have over the air captures of the issue. Please stay tuned.
Good Evening.

downloading....
Good news! I was having freeze problems with the first ICS update, I installed that... and all gone! Now I have a really nice tablet (only that 512Mb )
Thanks for the info!
Does update increase stability and reduce freezes, resets?
I installed the original version (4.0.4) and went over all the hurdles, reformat, install, slim down app library, turn off wifi, root and install memory management programs etc, with minimal success. The tablet was still not usably stable. Some would run for awhile ok but web browsing did not work at all. Even pdf reading caused soft reboots in different apps.
I downgraded to 3.2.80 and everything works fine again.
Does this version 4.0.5 fix those problems or is it still much less stable than honeycomb?
I am growing tired of all this upgrading and downgrading.
Thanks
Yes !
Doublepost because internet connection timeout
Please delete it
Thanks
Yes !
Yes -
But i think you must test it on your own network and router and such stuff.
For me:
on 4.0.4 wifi had massive problems with my o2 surfstation,
but now with 4.0.5 all problems gone.
For me its the best firmware.
Greeting
P.S you can test it unrooted and if its good then root it.
You can take Surdu_Petrus rooted firmware therefore, or his new custom rom which is based on original archos firmware 4.0.5 and which has lots of improvements.

Still unstable
The whole 4.0.5 is still unstable for me. My router is an airport express but even with others (no idea who makes them) it is problematic. A weak signal seems to cause connects and disconnects which leads to many programs force closing (Amazon Kindle, Files, Browser, ...)
Taking the microsd out makes it quite a bit better but the card had no problems in 3.2.80
So maybe it would be stable without wifi/sd/many apps, but that's kind of the reason I got a tablet in the first place
Hi,
Installed 4.2.2 yesterday and had to roll back to 4.1.2 (307) as Windows 7 crashed every time I tethered and tried connecting to the internet.
Anyone else had this problem, and has anyone got a solution to this as would prefer to install 4.2.2 again if a fix is available.
Searched this forum for a similar problem but not seen it mentioned anywhere.
Cheers guys

I'm having the same trouble and I can't seem to find much information about this. It's happening on Windows 7 64bit.
Hi etakarine, I'm on 64 bit also. Found this whilst looking into the problem, appears to be an Intel driver problem, though not tried it yet:

no issues here, just tethered and did a speed test without any issues at all
windows 7 64bit
Same problem for me at work on a Win 7 Enterprise
No problem at home with a Win 7 Ultimate
It's definitively a driver/software part, also at work i have Kaspersky that know for causin problem with that.
Thanks for your responses guys!!
I don't use Kaspersky, though use Symantec Corporate antivirus.
I'm guessing it's the intel driver problem, which I'll install and update again over the weekend when I've more time, to see if that's the problem!!

Just a quick update folks for anyone else with this problem. Installed the Intel wifi drivers from the link above earlier, updated back to 4.2.2 and fingers crossed, no crashes so far in the last 30 mins. Early days, but will test further over the weekend and report.
Looking good though as Win 7 crashed as soon as IE and Firefox were opened previously!!
I have two Teclast Air II tablets, models HG9M and HG9N. Both have Mirek's Android 5.0 ROM v5.0 installed. Both have the same problem:
When using Skype, the front camera freezes pretty frequently, usually after a minute or so. Sometimes restarting Skype helps, sometimes reboot is required to "unstuck" it. I wonder where the problem might be, is it Skype being buggy, or Android, or faulty hardware? Does anyone else have a similar problem? Anything I can do to resolve/troubleshoot this issue?

Actually yeah, I did (sort of). I downgraded the tablet to Mirek's 4.x ROM, and Skype appears to be working OK now.

Check the thread over at mirek190's rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/x98-air/development/mirek190romv5-0-android-lollipop-t3206772
On the last pages you find some issues regarding the camera on m5c5. Please try the modded boot.img from post #2 and report back.
I want to overclock the TP, sometimes I feel it lags a little.
To overclock the cpu I need to root it first right?
I'm on CM12 5.1.1 over J's last snapshot version.
Is it me or does everything loads slow?
Okay so I updated to the lastest JCsullin cm12. It runs fine and all but sometimes it seems to be slow/lagged.
Also when I was using the touchpad in the office it was fine but when I took it home and connected to the
wifi it was super super slow or didn't even work. I read somewhere that making some adjustment to the
to the wifi connect box that changed DCPH to static etc and it worked, I got internet working but it is still
rather slow loading pages/video compare to my stock Samsung Note2. Am I missing something or is there a
way I improve the speed/lag?
As pretty as Color OS 13 is, its causing some really annoying issues. Bluemail no longer works and crashes shortly after it is opened. WiFi is now really slow (I have a multi gigabit fibre connection and WiFi 6 Mesh thorughout my house, yet my phone takes an age to download/render websites)...
Is anyone else experiencing this and if so, have any fixes been found?
Hi,
No problem for me : i use bluemail all day long, and my wifi 6 works great.
