I've done a little searching because it is late, and even the Google answers were stupid. Does anyone know if there is an app or mod that will let me change the transparency of my home screen widgets? Or maybe there's a list of widgets already modified I could peruse?
Specifically I use the 3x1 keep widget and the color choices are horrible, any ideas?

Hello all,
As a new user I'm apparently not allowed to post links at all until I'm verified. So that means you'll have to a little leg work to find some things if you're interested.
This is my customized phone. I used the same background in my blog; The icons I made in a roundabout way—Bobbyperux over at Deviantart, made a pretty all inclusive tutorial on how to make them. It even had a video. You'll need to know something about Photoshop and have a tiny bit of patience. I changed the font to futura and the color to white. Except for the android market, ha. Little color never hurt anyone. The phone is rooted, non-market apps are enabled, and I can sync to my itunes with ease. Mac user.
Anywho give it a whirl--the icon pack is called up to date icons.
Id like to change my icon set too. Do you have to be using launcherpro or can u change them on the stock TW?
Thx.

Hey do you know what that (news?) widget is on the last screen?

The news widget is called buzz box-- its pretty nifty. You can choose from a ton of sources within the actual widget and it updates the news all day. I don't know how it effects battery life, but my captivate seems to be dealing with it just fine.

Yes, its LauncherPro. On the home screen I used Folder Organizer, as LauncherPro could can only change dock icons.
Do I need to resize the custom dock and icon images I find on the internet since the Aria's screen res is so much smaller than say the EVO?
If I want to make my own, what are the standard dimensions I should be using for the dock and for icons?
Thanks for everybody's patience and help with me so far. This board has been incredibly helpful. Hopefully, I'll be returning the favor to other new users shortly when I get up to speed myself.
I need to play around with it in PS as far as icons go. I was helping a friend theme his N1 this weekend, and the same icons we found for his I used on my phone... and the pixelate
I am determined to figure it out!

When no one answered here, I decided to just get the sizes from screenshots. I'll repost here if no one has done so when I get the figures.
LOL, I usually only go to the screenshot page. I know if you go to the LauncherPro forum, they have the dock sizes there. Its the icons that are gonna be tricky!

I just meant that I will use a generic screenshot of the HTC Sense UI and measure the height of the dock, and the height/width of the icons and widgets. I would think that should work just fine... right?
Yeah, for the dock... text icons are tricky, that's what I was meaning! I made a simple dock the other day, it was 50h x 320w

Of all the widgets and apps I have, this one BY FAR is the most indispensable to me. I am ready to start fresh on my EVO and any theme or customizing I do, I want HTC News & Weather to be on the home screen, possibly the lock screen as well.
Has anyone done this? If so, please point me in that direction!
Anyone? I can't find the answer anywhere else.
Yeah there's one, Google for transparent genie widget. There's a themer with a blog (ultralinx? I think) with it.

^^^ You're the best! All that time I was searching for News & Weather. You could imagine how many results I was getting lol.
I've been looking to find this launcher that I've watched on YouTube forever ago, in which I can not remember the name, to describe it, the launchers homescreen is some what minimalistic and doesn't show the status bar, when you swipe to the other homescreen it shows the weather with cloudy scene( on what I've seen). Im sorry that's all I could remember .
If anyone here knows what im talking please let me know.
Thanks in advance

Many launchers have the ability to hide the status bar and as for the weather, it could have possibly been a widget. So what I'm saying here is that this information doesn't help at all.
"the launchers homescreen is some what minimalistic"
You mean the wallpaper? Or a combination or widgets and shortcuts?
The user can customize the homescreen as he/she wants so...it's impossible to find that launcher.
Nvm. I found it
Here it is

Just download a great, completely customizable weather, clock, settings widget. It's only 99 cents on the market right now. Perfect for my ever changing homescreen. So many themes. Give it a look. I added a couple of pics to show some of the colors and sizes.

I assume you're the developer. I could be wrong. I like the appearance of the widgets, are there anything more than the weather/clock widgets?
Thanks
Bought it. It's awesome. The widgets looks very elegant on my xoom's screen. The variety of widget sizes and looks make this one a great buy!
I was lucky enough to beta test this widget and it was a pleasure watching the developers upgrade and fix it over several months. They are quick to resolve issues and I purchased it as soon as it became available on market.
Edit: @ Saintfyre, the main 8x2 widget allows the forcast on right to be switched with a control panel similar to a power control widget. Things like BT, screen rotation, wifi can all be turned on/off. Beyond that, theyre just weather and clock. Its a replacement for Beautiful widgets.
@OP. What is the Theme you are using? And what is the small up arrow in the center of your notification bar?
First app I bought without much research, saw one review and small review at that in a blog, very happy I bought it, very nice widgets.
I decided to pick it up and was beating my head against the wall because I couldn't get the widgets to appear in the Xoom widget menu after long-pressing. Simple reboot takes care of it, for those who scratch their head like I did after configuring one and trying to find out how to place it. I like what I see so far. Thanks devs!

I believe he's either using a Galaxy Tab 10.1 or has found a way to run TouchWiz UX on a Xoom. Probably the first one. The arrow would be the shortcut TW has for the mini apps.

Sorry not the developer, just letting people know about the widget that I liked.
Yes, not a theme, I use a galaxy tab 10.1 now, but old habits like this forum die hard.

In your 3rd pic on the top you are using something that has large buttons as folders. What program does that?
Ok, while you're at it, where did you get that wicked Star Trek wallpaper? /drool
The folders are two apps. Desktop visualizer is a free app that lets you take almost any small picture and use it for a launcher button of any app or bookmark. Then you can resize it to whatever dimensions you want. I have that widget working with the app called folder organizer lite. You can put all your apps into different folders. Apply your own icon and resize away. It saves alot of screen area so you don't have 100 apps taking up real estate. I can post some pics if you want to see what it looks like. Both apps are free in the market.
And here is the uss enterprise wallpaper. But you have to use the multipicture live wallpaper (free) in order to get it to display correctly. Honeycomb crops the sh!# out of it.

Under the HD Widgets settings you can add and remove different sizes.
Won't update units from F to C. :crying:
But other than not knowing what 50 degrees F is, the app is awesome.
Edit: rebooted and now it works a charm. A+++
