XT1096 (4.4.4) Sunshine Unlock - X 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am about to unlock my xt1096 on 4.4.4 using sunshine, I am curious what type of other options for custom ROMS/ Software this allows me (not as a Dev but as an end user)? Can I flash Pure Edition Kernels? ROMs? Everything but radios/firmware? I am going to do unlock either way, but I just want to know what I can/can't flash so I can find compatible software.
Thanks!

Once you are unlocked you can flash anything you want to include radios and firmware.

Would like to restore to stock 5.0.2 from cm12

Hi,
I am currently running cm12 on my xt1068. However I personally feel its not stable enough and im quite sure the devs would get it ready for prime time. In the meantime i would like to restore to stock 5.0.2. By doing so will my unlocked BL get relocked?
Bump
Any responses?

An unlocked bootloader won't be locked by returning to a stock ROM.
you can flash stock rom on lock bootloader to.

[Q] How to return to stock

As long as your custom rom did not touch GPT.BIN or the components of motoboot.img, you can flash back to whatever stock Moto rom you had on there before running the custom.
There are two links in my signature... Use them.. one is on the risks of downgrading (to make sure what is safe for your phone). And the other is for preparing for OTA update (also has info on returning to stock)

I for example flashed a custom rom based on cm 12 from kitkat (nexus experience rom), does cm 12 upgrade the bootloader? is it safe to flash the stock 4.4.4 rom?

Add: It wasnt the first lollipop rom i flashed, because the others had so many FC and bugs, I have all these roms on my pc, does it affect?

As far as I know, CM11/CM12 and AOSP based roms do not touch anything by /SYSTEM... (so GPT.BIN, motoboot.com or its components, modems, etc do not get touched by CM).
IF you no longer have a stock rom on your phone, then the only way to tell what you might have had on your phone is by looking at the bootloader. Its discussed in the thread link in my signature for the Warning on downgrading.

How can you flash several cm based custom roms before learning how to return your device back to stock? Learning how to return to stock should be the first thing you learn before modifying your software.

These AOSP (CM, SlimLP, PAC, Paranoid, crDroid, Candy5, Omni) ROMs feature the installation of a different kernel and to flash a different kernel you have to have an unlocked bootloader. So these ROMs will never be available for locked bootloader devices. Sorry mate.

Well I unlocked my XT1096 Bootloader now what?

About to root, but I'd like to go up to Marshmallow. Does CM13 work on the 96? Have people started porting the Pure 2014 Marshmallow ROM over to the 96?
Thanks!
Mods, if you wouldn't mind deleting this thread, it's a bit redundant. Thanks!
Yes CM13 works. You have a few ROMs to choose from for the XT1096. Development is somewhat limited, but most I have seen support vzw network.

No love for the Verizon Gs5 g900v bpb1

It seems that rooting my phone is the only thing I can do. As there are no roms available to flash for this model, I've attempted Plasma, Ressurection, Aliance and a few others I can't remember. Yes I know I can only flash touchwiz compatible but what the heck I tried anyways. I was able to flash Plasma (i think) it said Plasma under Android Version. Now im back to rooted stock, any advice is appreciated. Anyone else running same rooted phone model/version with a custom rom?
You know you can unlock the bootloader, right?
If I was on the Samsung 15 chip but unfortunately I'm on the 11 toshiba.
