Guys can anyone help me to find out can I and how to jailbreak my 640...
Thank you
you cant (anymore)... not working on 8.1
now only via W10M Insider... turn on developer mode in settings, sideload vcREG_1_2_W10.xap with wp8 xap deployer.

How to turn it ON?
Sry Im new in Windows phones...I really need closer explanation on this...Maybe step by step
I download file that you gave me and now..? :silly:
On your phone go to "Settings/Update & Security/For developers" and enable "Developer mode" (this is only for W10M Insider, not for 8.1)
also dont forget install WP SDK on computer for XAP deploy
Im using 8.1 and I don't have that option...I have Update & Backup. So I need W10...I still dont have update from my career.
Can I update on some other way dxdz?
I must install this, right?
SDK 8.0 is too old not recommended... you must use newer SDK...
full VS comunity free version (but dont forget to enable phone tools installation -
)
or SDK 8.1 lite http://dhost.info/vink/avink/forums/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=4&sid=ccbd2d48ec5475ae2495402fe47fe82f
and Win 10 not officially relesed. only via insider testing
ok, what should I do after I finish this? like in this description https://msdn.microsoft.com/library/...UsingtheWindowsPhoneDeveloperRegistrationTool ?
Cant communicate with device...
you dont need to run developers tools, only installed...
to deploy XAP file to phone use deploy tool, but dont forget first upgrade to Windows 10 and enable developer mode

you dont need this because this is developer unlock for 8.1... not need for Win 10 because is already have option to developer unlock in phone settings (i told you before: developer mode in settings)

Yes, but this is confusing for me...
Windows 10 not released yet and you need to join test program called "Insider"
join with your microsoft account to https://insider.windows.com
install Insider app from store and with this app you activate upgrade to Windows 10...
dont forget, Windows 10 for phone is still in testing stage and have many bugs and problems...
Ok, this help a lot...But tell me, if I do it and after that I want back to stock. Can I manage to to that?

make a backup with my method and try it. If works, yeaheee. If not restore your backup and wait the progress of this unlock method
PS. LEAVE US A FEEDBACK AFTER THE ACTION .....
Doesn't work on my first generation Omnia 7. It says I have to dial *#9908# in the diagnostics tool, which opens up the GPS manager. There is no option "WindowBreak" there.

Did you uninstall the diagnostics tool, and reinstalled it again after the unlock?
Works perfectly on my Omnia 7 broke my 3G but it was a easy fix to restore it.
This method worked for me (Omnia 7, latest Mango version). I don't know what type of unlock it provided, but I'm able to deploy xap packages without problems now. Also, I don't know if this was happening before or the unlocking screwed it, but sometimes the 3G is not working till I reboot the phone.
Anyway, nice job!

yes, it causes from unlock process. here the fix Samsung Repair 3G by Heathcliff74.xap
Stock Omnia 7 without branding. Updated via Zune "Force Update" method. Mango Version: 7720.68. Firmware: 2424.11.9.2 // Radio: 2424.11.9.1
Set "windowbreak" active via Save in the GPRS Manager. Rebooted. Sync partnership in Zune is set to "Guest". Deployment of "WP7 Root Tools" was not possible with following error msg saying that my device does not support interop unlock apps.
Found the solution to my problem:
- Connect your Omnia
- Start Zune and wait for the Omnia to show up
- Establish a sync partnership if you haven't done already
- Run WPConnect
- Close Zune
- Unlock your Omnia (Screenlock)
- Deploy XAP

I didn't at first, but I retried after uninstalling the diagnostics tool, and still the same result. It opens up the GPS manager, and there's no option "windowbreak" in there.
Ok, I just did a complete reflash to JK1 and then went through all the updates, and now it's working! I did that because my compass wasn't working either - my firmware got stuck at JJ6 (probably because I updated the radio rom without updating the firmware once)
I used the "WindowsBreak" method (credit to jaxbot) and everything seems to work as expected; reboot the phone and try to deploy a XAP with the official app deployment tool from microsoft and no matter what I do, XAPs will not deploy. Is there another deployment solution out there I need to be using?

i was running Win 7 x64 and had to run the deployer in admin mode otherwise it would come up with that message.
give that a shot and see how you got on.
Just whilst your here, im curious, i will be getting a Focus S soon but ive been reading a lot of info saying that the 8107 update via zune should be avoided because it will stop the ability to dev and interop unlock samsung devices.
But ive not found a single post saying that anyone with a focus S has had issues, if you wouldnt mind, have you seen any issues or heard of anything?
I am running W7 x64 as well. Tried running deployment in admin; no bueno.
Try install this program for sideload xaps on to device. It works with x64 and x86.
Remember windows phone only allow to sideload 10 unsigned apps on device but if you have windowbreaked your device there are currently some ways to expand that to a higher number of apps.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=860964
Remember to apply xaps
- Make sure your device is connected with PC and Zune lauched in background
- Make sure your device not in sleep mode

Windows Phone 8 can install xap's, this does not mean it can run or start them if they require interop unlock. Currently interop unlock is not possible.

You can change any value by Registry Editor and save ? (or not - I think so not)
For check you can try to install an application that needs access to the root eg: Shutdown: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21751650&postcount=1
You can install app but not run (when tap, app is back to the apps list).

wp7mktplace cant sign these apps anymore
try other things or already signed homebrew apps
It possible to call all funcs from system dlls. But a lot of funcs returned Access_denied.
How about we all save some time and stop trying this silly idea, huh?
The interop unlock you're trying to install was for older HTC WP7 devices. It doesn't work on newer devices, and it certainly won't work on WP8 devices. The apps won't work for two reasons:
-Your device isn't interop unlocked
-The binaries are compiled for WP7, not WP8. Not even simple innocent apps like Orientation Lock run under WP8, because they aren't compiled correctly for WP8, nor do they use the correct APIs.
What should be encouraged, however, is an evaluation of the OEM apps on the device, to see if any have exploitable holes. I'm guessing that HTC has learned its lesson by now, but hey, worth trying.
Also, I'm curious to see if this XAP will do anything if sideloaded. I'm guessing no, as it won't have interop privileges, but I'm still curious to see what happens.

I'm with you, trust me I want the same thing... I have a edu Dev account and I am sick of the 3 app limit, never mind the lack of custom colors (Advanced Config), It seems a interop unlock for my 8X would be the only thing I need now to enjoy it more.
As long as these apps will work with a 8X of course

you cant SIM unlock
you first need developer or appstudio account
also need WP SDK to unlock and deploy (XAP) files
with interop unlock you can change registry settings, enable or disable many options in WP, deploy homebrew apps....

Thanks again!
For Redstone builds you need to fake an entry in the registry.
To be exactly in HKLM-->SYSTEM-->Platform-->DeviceTargetingInfo change the entry in PhoneManufacturer from NOKIA to MicrosoftMDG
But beware, major bugs can occur since your device is not supported officially.

I have a HTC One M8 Windows running 10586.164; that said if you're attempting to run the very latest builds which as of this typing is 14295. Microsoft releases a list of supported devices and the Lumia 925 and the M8W are not on the list and trust me, I'm not happy about their decision and I blame HTC too; a two year promise that has been deliberately broken and for HTC users this is twice and I don't care what some post about their decision being faired; I'm sick of the general device manufacturers thumbing their noses up at us and if the Tech Previews work on our device then why can't the gold release be made to work on ours too.

I can't install redstone on my Lumia 520,because i can't install vcREG and CustomPFD.
I've set my phone to developer mode in the developer options settintgs page, and after that i tried to deploy vcREG and CustomPFD to my phone with application deployment tool from windows phone sdk 8.1.When i try to deploy vcREG,the app deploy says the app manifest could not be loaded or not valid, and when i tryed to deploy CustomPFD it throws this error code: 0x81030120.what can i do?i have 10586.164 build of w10m,and i've tried any other methods (for example root tool's interop unlock),but nothing worked for me :/

Hi,
First of all before you will attempt to install Redstone on your device I want to say to you that Redstone on my Lumia 925 was not stable enough. Yes, it was faster than 10586.164 build but it had some bugs listed below:
1) When SIM card is inserted you can't get any notifications and when you try to download app from the store, store freezes. If you will remove SIM card from your phone you will get notifications and store will work properly.
2) If you will reset your phone you will stuck on Welcome Back screen. (If you want to avoid that you need to remove SIM card from your phone)
2) Phone has also charging bugs.
3) Phone restarts very often.
4) Sometimes phone can't find any Wi-Fi. (Restart helps)
So this are the bugs that I noticed when using latest Redstone build on my Lumia 925. If you want to install it anyways I have some suggestions.
1) Restore your phone to Windows Phone 8.1 and ensure that extras+info will not get any update.
2) Install only Windows Insider app and choose Release Preview.
3) When you will install build 10586.164 make reset and again don't update extras+info. (Turn off auto update in store)
4) Choose Developer mode and deploy vcREG. Before you deploy CustomPFD go to templates in vcREG app and click on first and fourth checkboxes and hit apply(or something like that) then deploy CustomPFD.
If you will update extras+info you will not be able to deploy this apps. If you will deploy CustomPFD without using vcREG you will get error: 0x81030120
If you have further questions I am here. ))))
Does anyone know if in the future 520 will be able to update to 14295 without registry hacks? 10586 is unusable for me since it has the bug that prevents installation of extra language packs/keyboards
I was JUST about to flash it and read this. Thanks for the info. Wondering if future builds will be more stable.
Also, say if I flash this, can I revert back to either 8.1 or 10 Preview?

Yes you can revert to WP8.1 and then install W10M preview.
Also not every user had this bugs... Maybe if you will update to W10M you will not get this bugs... But it's risky...

If you will update extras+info you will not be able to deploy this apps. If you will deploy CustomPFD without using vcREG you will get error: 0x81030120
If you have further questions I am here. ))))

Yes it's W10M build 10586.107. When it will be installed check for updates again and it should download build 10586.164. This build is very stable and useful for everyday usage. ...And also I don't understand why they removed Redstone builds from older Lumias with 1GB of RAM, it was very fast on my 925(Except of Bugs)... Lets see what we will get in future...

Then I am not willing to take the plunge. I was planning to flash a FULLY working ROM as I was going to give my 925 to my Mom.
But if that is the case, then I might just wait for a fully functional, stable ROM.
What say/?

I think that build 10586.164 is very stable. Or WP8.1 will be a good choice too... I don't know

Build 10586.164 doesn't has this bug I am using this build now and I have 4 different keyboards downloaded without any problem. This bug had Redstone build 14291.1001 as I remember...

Unfortunately, that's not true. With 10586 you can't download language packs/keyboards (at least not the ones that include the swype functionality). Anyways, you didn't answer my question - can I expect to be able to install 14295 without registry hacks on 520/521?
