Hello, I'm having a problem where every 5-10 min my phone drops LTE and goes back to edge. And won't reconnect without me forcing LTE. When I switch it back to LTE/GSM, it goes back to 2g. At first I assumed this was an issue with my rom, so I flashed the stock 5.1 image but the problem is still occurring. Any input?

Have the same issue when I'm on cdma/lte mode, then I switch to cdma auto, the signal becomes fine.
I don't have the lte coverage in my area.

I've had lte for a while now. I'm not sure why it acts up. I use ltd cdma mode but the other day had gsm icon show up with the lte cdma mode only.

I have lte in most areas but where I'm at for this week there is no lte. Though as I'm sitting here it will lose all signal randomly for just a few seconds then come back. Happens at least once every few minutes

Happens to me too, we just got lte where I work, same thing still happens :/
happends to me also
Glad that I am not alone. Use to listen to Tune-In while on the road and now it cuts out for a few seconds every other minute or so. Sometimes I reach a stretch of road that I have no data. Also turn on Scout and it constantly says network connection has been lost, and network connection has been restored.
All the time the signal bars show that I have service.
Took my phone to the Sprint store today and all they did was a data reset, 786 I believe. This is the second one that I have had data signal issues with, the first one they said that it failed a radio test one and they replaced it. Also my girlfriend's phone seems to do the same thing. Never had issues like this with my HTC EVO LTE. Might actually reactivate and see if I can isolate to the phone verse the network.
Now the question is phone (which I would tend to be the case), or the network. If it is the phone, is it every phone issue or a bad batch?
Has anyone else experience complete signal lost in about every 15-20 min? Ive attempted a factory reset also a ##UPDATE# .
Goto settings->more...->mobile networks
Change it from Global to LTE/CDMA (if in Sprint variant) and reboot
I had the same issue as it will disconnect to search for a global GSM network to connect to every few mins and then reconnect to back to its home network when in global mode.

I live in LA and I get fast Spark speeds @ 30.00 Mbps on average. But what I notice is when I drive in my car or go to neighboring cities it constantly drops from LTE to 3G and the internet would be intermittent until I become stationary and would go back to LTE.
I will try lostsoul77 advice and report back to you tonight.
But yes, every 10-15 minutes it switches between 3G and LTE,
I attempted to change the settings to no avail. I've come to the conclusion that it may be a defective device and will be swapping out for a new one.

Did you reboot after you changed the settings. Try changing the setting, then update profile and prl and reboot

I actually tried that as well! By the way I did end up exchanging for another unit. And unfortunately im still having this issue! Ive attempted update profile, update prl, ##update# , factory resets, settings mobile networks to LTE/CDMA instead of Global, and even manual programming using the MSL code. Maybe its something with the Sprint variant G Flex? Ive contacted LG and they want me to send my unit in for diagnose and repair.
I've had the same issues, here's what I've discovered.. Alot of us don't have band 26 and 41 up yet. And it's sprint wide.. Looks like the next firmware update will have the problem solved.

My M8 has had pefect 4g and 3g connectivity since I got it. It was a replacement for my first one that was horrible at connecting to anything. Over the weekend I noticed 4g not connecting as frequently as it should, in areas supposedly blanketed by lte coverage in my area.
If I toggle airplane mode, 4g connects and usually stays connected, so it can't be a circuit fallback issue. But when I travel away from that tower, it reverts to 3g and almost never reconnects to 4g until I do another airplane mode toggle.
Is it possible I've mucked up something with a firmware flash? I've flashed the harman/kardon firmware early in the week last week, but since these issues I've tried going back to the stock firmware and also the OTA firmware, but the issue remains.

I'd go to a sprint store and compare behavior of your with one on display.
Some people believe after firmware updates their M8 started active up. But usually it's loss of 3G. But anything is possible.
But I'd get a reference first. 4G will be available on one spot on my drive to work one day and not the next. Not sure if it's bandwidth thing or tower work or what.
Parameters of when to go on to LTE may have changed in firmware. So it's less likely to bounce between 4G and 3G.
Every day when I am actively using my phone, once or twice I'll notice that the HSPA or LTE icon will disappear for a few seconds, I'll lose my data connection, and a few seconds later the HSPA or LTE icon will come back and I'll have data again. Signal bars do not change, only the data icon disappears.
Happens a few times pretty much every day, and I usually have good signal strength (full bars) when it happens, so signal strength is not the issue.
I'm on the .93 firmware on AT&T in the U.S.
Anybody else seeing this behavior?

Good to know I'm not alone. What firmware and network are you on?

Firmware .93 on Plus, Poland.
I have the same, I am on the Three network in the UK. Although I have been having the same on every phone with this sim in. It's a network issue..

I don't necessarily think it's a network issue for everybody. I've switched my SIM between my Z3C and my iPhone a couple of times and I've never had the problem on iPhone, or on any other Android phone I've used in the past for that matter...

I get this on talk mobile (virtual vodafone) - I've only noticed it at work and it's very repeatable every 10 minutes or so it drops 3g for a couple of seconds - I notice it because it then triggers my VPN to re-initiate. It's a carry over Sim (cut down) from the Galay s2 I was using previously.
This randomly just happened 2 days ago. I had LTE ever since, till then. My phone keeps jumping from 4G to 3G, hardly seeing LTE. I wasn't sure if it was a ROM/modem thing, so I tried updating my modem to DOJ7, and changing ROMs, yet the problem still persist. APNs look normal, and I tried reconnecting my phone with T-Mobile's network via their T Force service, but still not solving the problem.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
