Flashing the kernel is easy, but there are two of them listed. Is one preferred over another one (Zeus vs ThunderZap)?

Flash kernel with adb sideload?
Can I do that without flashing custom recovery?
On Lollipop I used to do this:
#I didn't even need to unlock the bootloader!!
HTML:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot boot recovery.img
After it boots into Philz recovery , I can simply flash anything with
HTML:
adb sideload UPDATE-SuperSU-v2.02.zip
That way I don't lose my data, I don't lose stock recovery, I don't lose anything.
Can I do the same here? Has anyone tried it? I don't want any custom ROM, I just want to be rooted.

it is ramdisk issue i think...u can't use 4.2.2 recovery for general use if u want to use aokp ,cm,slim or pa or any other 4.1.2.
i have my version of cwm on ser 4.2.2 but it can be used only with official or leaked 4.2.2 roms and not with general 4.1.2 or aokp /cm.
that is a sole reason i avoided it .
Very nice recovery I'm very happy to have it

Please any one post link for aroma file manager.

Shadow Kernel
This is my first Kernel for the Xperia Z2.
It works on the Android Lollipop 5.1.1 stock ROM. Don't use this as a kernel for CM ROMs or CM-based ROMs!
This kernel doesn't provide a built in recovery ATM so please use it with a ROM with NUT's Dualrecovery (or instal it on your ROM), otherwise you won't have recovery!
Features:
- Fully -O3 optimized
- Coming much more soon!
Requirements:
- Sony Xperia Z2 D6503
- Stock Lollipop 5.1.1 ROM
- Unlocked Bootloader
Installation:
- Download newest .zip file from Server
- Flash .zip in recovery
OR:
- Extract boot.img from .zip
- Flash boot.img via fastboot by typing:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
Download:

Good work man. Always nice to have options
As you may have noticed, this is far from professional programming. I do this only in my free time (I'm in the 12th class now, in Germany this is the last class before you graduate) and I have to learn very much. So please feel free to use other kernels. This is only a free time project of mine and I can't guarantee for updates as for success. Thanks for understanding!

So am i to understand that i should be able to flash the Kernel with Flashify and then i can flash in TWRP? Am currently having an issue getting TWRP on my J700T and im hoping with this Kernel and using Flashify that this will solve all.
Will this kernel give the j7ooT SUB host capabilities?

USB capabilities?
I want to install LUKs Manager app on my J7. Stock roms of course will not work. Will this ROM do the trick? Also, I have rooted and installed TWRP. Will I still be able to flash this ROM? If so, what will I need to do again, if anything, after flashing said ROM?

Good question. Haven't tried but I might just do that right now...
I've tried a flash drive and a keyboard. Works. I assume a mouse too.
Also tried a external DVD drive and a vcr......both didn't work.

Just to be clear, this is a kernel that this thread is about. If your device is not a j700t (T-Mobile) or j700t1 (metro pcs) then no. It should not work for you.
And not trying to sound condescending at all here, but a kernel is the software that your Rom interacts with the hardware. Kernels are very device specific and flashing the wrong one can leave you with a paperweight.
So my question to you is what device do you have?

Do I still have to flash decrypt file? I'm running stock firmware, locked bootloader. In short I have not messed with my phone at all. Looking forward to install PE CAF ROM.

Can you please post the direct link without the bit.ly shortening service. My hostfile and router blocks such monetising re-routeing methods....

Notes From telegram group TWRP Update
Starting this build, recovery supports flashing stock firmware without modifying the updater-script. In order for it to be possible ,ro.product.device has to be set to ASUS_X00TD. This, however, breaks flashing of custom ROMs that check for either X00TD or X00T. I'll upload latest XenonHD build that can be flashed on this recovery.Simply supporting it doesn't mean that you can flash stock firmware directly; you need to be at least on stock when you flash the recovery, so required properties can be exported to /persist which then will be set on every recovery boot up.
Still not sure though, as some ROMs check for ro.product.device and then fallback to ro.build.product for matching devices.
Works, no problems. good job. Thank you

can i flash to stock 340, android 8.1 ?
Yes
so, is this recovery able to flash FW that downloaded from asus website?
without single edit?
and what about encryption?
i'am planning to flash stock pie 0.53 from ressurection remix pie.
So can I just flash the full rom without modifying it?

Yes.
Also, I recommend stick with RR ROM ,Stock update is still a waste.
