N920I vs N920G - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I understand that the N920I is the International version, but what is the difference between it and the N920G? I'm looking to pick up one of these two unlocked to run on AT&T.

Get the N920i, many users in the states have it and its running great on AT&T.
Not sure the other model will have the same bands on AT&T.

Any thoughts on the N920C model? Has all the same bands and got marshmellow before the N920I model. I wanna pick one up for AT&T.

Have you heard anything about the N920C model? Does it work well on AT&T as well? Asking because I'm deciding between the two variants..

I think you should be fine - the bands match up with AT&T so I don't see an issue.
I personally tested the N920i model - so I can speak with confidence regarding that variant.

Thanks and the N920i seems to be the more popular variant and I read somewhere that the 'i' model doesn't come with bloat but the 'c' model does.. Since so many people swear by the 'i' model then it's prob wise to go with that one..

Yea, when I used the N920i on AT&T, I had no issues whatsoever.
I was able to install international ROMs and T-Mobile ROMs on there with ease.
I think you'll be perfectly happy with that choice. Enjoy!

Thanks. Def appreciate it..

Oops, im sorry, my bad.... But, your thread is all about pre-order, pricing and availability, which is for people who don't have the actually phone. And mine is quite a bit more for people who may have one already (Since I got mine as well). Juz letting you know and no offence for sure. Peace
P.S. I think I may change the topic a little bit, so make sure is different than yours then....

It won't be. As u know Australia is getting the SnapDragon version, so has to be later..... Unless u wanna buy the Exynos version, u can pop up to Kogan or Yatango like i did
I'm in Auckland and there is a big billboard outside my office window saying the note 4 launches on 17 October so I guess it's the same for Aussie. We get the exynos version and again I assume you guys will too. I've already bought a Hong Kong one which is apparently the same model we will get when it officially launches. It's the 910u.

Aussie will be the end of this month coz Australia is getting SD version. Only the Exynos version is earlier in the market.

Singapore version is a bit hard to find no matter on ebay or even Kogan is selling 910U which is the most common and supportive model.
From what I've read from Samsung official website, 910U does support 700mhz. But if u wanna get the Snapdragon version, wait for couple week more for Aussie version coz they gonna bring us the Snapdragon to Australia.

From what i read from Samsung Hong Kong official website, says 910U does support B28 (700mhz)
http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/promotions/galaxynote4/spec/
Even if it doesn't support, 150mb/s CAT4 LTE is fast enough for me anyway.

The 910U which is in hong Kong also supports 700mhz and lte-A CAT6. Find the thread in general note4. This is the exact same model you get in new Zealand. In Australia we get the 910G. There are two differences between the U and the G. One is the U runs exynos G runs SD805. And U does not have B40 2300mhz TDD(optus LTE which not many devices use yet. So you don't really need it.)
Again ONE THE OTHER THREAD USERS CONFIRMED 910U DOES HAVE LTE-A cat6 as well as B28 700mhz lte

@angelky hows your N910U going in Aus? I'm thinking of biting the bullet and importing one. The wait has been long enough. Can you confirm the 4g/LTE frequencies on your device. Should be on the box too.
Any heating issues with yours? Just wondering with exynos history with Note 3.
Thanks in advance

Mine goes ok at this stage juz not very well with my wifi at home... But, never has any heat issue and always stays cool unless i use it when it's charging (still not very hot at all). LTE frequencies u can check from other posts since there had quite a few related (lazy to quote coz im in bed already ). But, pretty sure it does support all LTE frequencies in Australia, especially 700mhz for next year as well. You can also check that from Samsung official site from Hong Kong.

Looking to get an Unlocked Note 5...Model?

I am looking to get an Unlocked Note 5 in Silver (does anyone have this or have you seen it - does it look as good in person)
My question is:
There are many unlocked versions, but I believe there are several versions that may work in the US
But I am thinking it is one of: N920C or N9200 or N920I (I am thinking it is the N920I, with the "I" standing for International?)
Can anyone tell me which works on GSM in US, T-Mobile
Thanks

I would stay away from the N920C if you are going to use it in the US. I have the N920C and on ATT network it is getting only 3G and the signal is considerably weaker than on other phones compatible with ATT.
What does the N920C stand for. I think I need the "I" don't you.

They are designed for different continents. The N920I is for - Australia, New Zealand, Singapore. The N920C is for middle east, russia, africa, israel ...etc. If you can get the Unlocked T-mobile variant, you're good. Otherwise checkout the willmyphonework.net or the "The Ulimate Note 5 Band Guide."
Are you sure the I isnf for international.
That's what I wanna know. What one is able to be used. There is no such thing as a T-Mobile unlocked version. Yes there is one that works on T-Mobile, ATT etc. If you hear of the specific model I'd be grateful.

Thank you really ALot. I tried that and they got 2 blue checks and a yellow. So the same #frustrating
I bought the N920i version and work perfectly with ATT and TMOBILE. It have an amazing internet speed, i'm talking about more than 45MBPS.
Is a grate phone.
Thank you. I was thinking that was for International. Then I saw some sites (Expansys) who was selling the N9200 and was told they were the same.
thanks so much
Yes, N9200 is pretty much the same as N920i but dual sim card model. It should work in US. Be careful, this model can come from China and Google apps may be a problem.
I have ordered this model from Expansys and it should come from South Korea.
Spoke to Samsung via chat, NewEgg and Best Buy most will work to some degree here . BUT they said the one made for gsm carriers in US is the N920G. It can be had on NewEgg or Expansys but def eBay Amazon and Best Buy for $100 more than other places
just adding my 2 cents worth: i'm using a 64GB Silver SM-N9208 (Taiwan - CSC is BRI) dual SIM Note 5 on ATT & T-Mobile and it's working great. no network issues at all. 5 of the 10 people on my current project use Note 5's (including me); the other 4 Note 5 users are in awe of my device, especially the Silver color and the fact that i can make/receive calls from both SIMs at the same time.

There are so many threads dealing with this issue.
You should either use the above website or use pdadb.net to see which LTE bands a particular model uses and then compare that to the LTE bands your carrier uses (which is what the above website actually does)

Both N920C and N920I should work fine in US except one 3G band for T-Mobile....but when it comes to Software updates...what do you think is first to get official updates? N920I being the Australia model, would it be after N920C? I heard sometimes its after even US models...Thoughts?

Help me choose the right note 5 :(

Hello I need to choose a note 5 for me. I have a note 4 right now from verizon with unlimited data but they started charging 20$ extra for unlimited and along with other features on my account it adds up to over 100$ per line. I want to switch to straight talk most likely and since it is cheaper and they have good coverage where I live, but only thing is I know only sprint and verizon use cdma and others use gsm. I need a gsm unlocked but not sure which to choose, there is i920i i920a and so on. I also travel a lot to europe so I need a phone that will support local sim cards as I am there, would someone please give me some insight on which model of note 5 I need to choose.

The LTE and 4G on my iPhone 6 shows very strong signal, while Note 5 has strong signal if you use HSDPA.

Will a N950F work on sprint?

My friend just bought a N950f on ebay and is unable to activate it on sprint. Looking at the specs I do not see any kind of CDMA listed. I dont think it will work on sprint but I just wanted an expert opinion.

Galaxy Note 9 Developer Ecition

Is there any news on Samsung doing a Developer Edition of their Note 9 Verizon models like they did for the Note 4 and the Note Edge? I really want to get my hands on that 512gb phone, but cant see myself committing to the locked bootloaders.

? just buy a exynos F or N or SD 9600
problem solved.
After a bit of googling and searching amazon I was only able to find AT&T compatible international versions, I remember someone saying the other CDMA phones worked on a different band then the US Verizon bands. When I google Exynos CDMA I get told Exynos isn't compatible with CDMA because the radios for it aren't installed on those phones.
Not gonna happen
There is no talk of a Developer Edition and is unlikely as none of the recent Notes have had one. The Exynos models don't have the proper LTE bands for Verizon. The N9600 is a Snapdragon, but I'm not sure if it runs the correct bands for Verizon either.

Where did you get your SM-N9600? The ones listed on Amazon claim to be the 9600 international version but they all say GSM only no CDMA.
EDIT: I found this: https://www.techwalls.com/samsung-galaxy-note-9-sm-n960-model-number-differences/
It lists the different model numbers. it seems the 9600/9608 have all the bands listed under the 960U*** versions that are important to Verizon.

Awesome, thanks for the heads up, I will make my way right on over there and get me one on Thursday when I get paid. One question, when you select language does it give the option for US English or only Brittish English? Not really a problem, just curious as I have never bought an international version.

I only see one on amazon, I checked ebay also and they look pretty much the same situation over there. none of them mention if it has the latin firmware with 1 exception. there is one being resold on ebay and the guy mentioned it was the hong kong version. Is yours the dual sim one? and if it is the right model with the snapdragon processor, couldn't I just flash the Latin Firmware via Odin?
