Thanks for the link. I was able to download and install but threw my device into a boot loop. Luckily I was able to reflash Emotion Kernel and boot right back up. Could the ROM Rapture 8.2 be the cause of this bootloop?

Thanks for the reply. I tested the stock kernel on a COG2 based rom and worked flawlessly. Thanks for the reminder.

personally i would stick with the 5.1.1 roms, better battery life and quicker over cog2, did you have any issues with them?

I am using TWRP version 2.7.0.0 and when i try to flash a cyanogenmod nightly from their website, it fails.
it'll say it flashed successfully but upon boot, it loops.. i dont know if twrp is supported or if i have something wrong.
I was just wondering if anyone had the same problem and has a fix for it.
I'm running the Resurrection rom (4.4.2) but was running the 24a version of the stock rom if that matters.
Help would be greatly Appreciated

:highfive: :good: We currently have no official maintainer at CM for the LG G2!! CM builds are still based on 4.2.2 kernel and it's looking for 12b radios, hence the bootloop as you are on a 4.4.2 kernel from 24a!! Your best bet is to flash JackpotClavins build of CM11 It's based on 4.4.2 kernel sources, the 24a you are currently on!! You only need to flash his build, as you are already on 24A :highfive::good:

It's okay to use Williams kernel even if you're on Kitkat. As long as the ROM requires stock kernel, the Williams kernel will work as well.

Only you know your situation better than anyone else. I suggest you try out a couple of ROMs and kernel combinations and see which one works best. Also, try installing a minimal Gapps package to reduce battery consumption, such as this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2779598 .
You could also install one of the few custom kernels for XSP and underclock/undervolt it. Be cautious though.
Hit thanks if it helped! Godbless!

If there is no kernel for Vanir with TWRP embedded, you can't use it. Custom recovery is embedded in same partition as kernel, so it can't be installed separately.

If yes, then can u guide me towards any kitkat kernels in which TWRP is embedded?
Thanks!

Exacly, TWRP will only embedded come with a kernel. I am not sure what kernel is compatible with Vanir AOSP, that has TWRP. You might look for ROM that has kernel with TWRP, and flash it with Universal Kernel Flasher. And be prepared to recover phone if you end up with a bootloop (flash same rom again if you can access recovery, or flash stock firmware).

You do not need to change it to find it, it is written in its post. I think that Omni has TWRP, and maybe Carbon. Ofcourse it needs to be 4.4 based. Look in Original Development and in Development section of our device part of this forum.

reflash your rom or push a 6.o kernel to your phone and flash it.
before you make anymore mods to your phone, you want to make a backup within twrp recovery, in case you end up like this. then you can always restore it.

you do realize that when flashing kernels, that you dont have to reflash supersu(if you already have root)? :silly:

I was (am) under the impression that after every kernel flash superSU had to be flashed too At least with 6.0.1.

well, im not on 6.0.1, im on 6.0, and i flashed a kernel yesterday without flashing supersu, and i still have root. in theory, on 6.0.1, it should still be the same, as your supersu doesnt get removed when you flash another kernel. but, im not perfect, so i guess i could be wrong when it comes to 6.0.1

I have to flash the "boot.img" image modified, Super SU and after custom kernel?
The kernel will fix the problem level of my battery ?
Could you break that down for me ?
kernel advise ?
Thanks.

I wished for just root my nexus.
can you confirm this procedure with the custom kernel ?

To be honest, if you dont have the time for that simple thing then you really shouldnt mess with your device as things can go wrong that will take far more time to fix that the few min it takes to restore.
