Reboot the phone back into your old rom(the one you were using before you went to install Dragon) after you get back on go in the play store and just install something small and stupid that you don't need and then uninstall it completely and then reboot back into twrp and tap install and make sure that your internal space doesn't say 0 and check this before you install and delete anything from your phone! I ran into this and that was the way to fix it but you might also be able to just remove the battery if you already deleted the old system but I hope you didn't.
You're kinda in a bind for wiping everything cause you have nothing to boot into now so you're gonna have to keep trying to install it and keep toggling the mount button off and on and rebooting by removing the battery!
thanks mr.mike i just found a solution by taking out my sdcard, going to wipe in TeamWRP then formatting data.
but just a quick question is there a good rom for the desire 510? i have the boost mobile version but i use this phone for wifi/internet/games, i dont intend on using service.
i've tried flashing some roms like dragon,Nosense,Raptor. The only ones that seem to work are cyanogen 11 and raptorsense7?

Personally I like Cyanogenmod 11 but you can use anything you want that's for the HTC Desire 510 like Raptor Rom and the only reason it may not have worked Is because you have to flash the wifi.zip that's in the download section of Raptor Rom but it needs to be flashed after installing the rom and not before.
i didnt see a wifi patch,i got the raptorSense7 rom it seems to be great but do you know if theres anyway to remove the bloatware? (like car app,htc apps, htc backup, stocks, weather) im rooted by the way

Just look on the play store for an app remover but type it like this kinda app remover for root. It's called system app remover.

You can also use something better called Titanium Backup!

D/L'ed Titanium backup last night and started removing unnecessary stock apps. Tried today to D/L from the marketplace and each D/L gets stuck in "starting download." I was reading somewhere that removing Google Talk might have something to do with this. Any suggestions?

There are a lot of people who have issues with the market if they remove google talk. If you removed it, try replacing it and see what happens.

download link? should I just extract it from a custom rom?
Also, instead of starting a new topic..I have already rooted my phone but can't seem to find a step by step to installing a custom rom. I D/L'ed Darchdroid 2.7 but don't really know where to go from there. Link or see below?
Is this the correct way?
Download ROM ZIP of Choice: XDA Wiki - ROMs
1) Copy ROM ZIP to SDCard Root (/sdcard/)
2) Reboot into recovery mode>Flash zip from sdcard>select ROM ZIP

Okay so I have been experiencing the same problems. I am a bit new to this but have been reading like crazy on how go fix it.
So here's the deal: I have the Droid X 2.1 w/update (not 2.2), rooted, and yesterday I started uninstalling annoying stock apps, using Titanium Backup. Not thinking anything of it, I then go to the market and realize that I cannot download anything. My phones internet works great! (I'm using it to write this now) and I can even download apps from the phones stock browser, but the Market is stuck on download. I followed your instructions on uninstalling it, canceling it, rebooting it, but nothing is working. I think wiped my phone thinking it would reinstall the stock apps. To my dismay, nope. So now I have no apps on my phone except the few stock apps I have left. I heard the problem is Google Talk but if i'm not mistaken, DroidX can't flash ROMS. So any suggestions? I'm open to all!
Hi!
Yesterday my msging app wouldn't open so I rebooted the phone, something I do at least once every 2 days, and it booted into recovery without me touching anything.
This error would also show up:
E:Can't read MISC:
(No space left on device)
I can't do ANYTHING. It ALWAYS goes to recovery mode. reboot bootloader goes into recovery. power + camera button goes into recovery. letting it boot goes into recovery.
--all with the same error in recovery, the can't read misc thing.
Did anyone have this problem? I didn't even flash anything, i was just rebooting the phone like I always do and it just appeared. Any ideas? Is this bricked? I don't want to get a new phone until I know I've tried everything. I've already scoured the net for this error with no results.
Thanks!
What recovery do u have? Do u know your phone info? Running a custom Rom? What have u done to the phone before now?
Not bricked btw if u can get into recovery it's fixable

Hey, thanks for replying!
I'm using RA 1.7 recovery, not sure what phone info you want, its a G1, I'm using CM 6.0 RC1 and have been using for a month now, and before that I've just been using CM, keeping my phone up to date with the stable releases (I don't flash the nightlies)
I'm glad that its not bricked. The problem is that it ONLY boots into recovery, even if I don't press anything...
Thanks!

Ok. I'm looking for spl and radio. Do u have danger spl? Or firerat mtd patch? Sounds like u ran out of internal memory somehow and now won't boot into os is why I ask

Oh Gotcha - yeah I followed the guide on the CM wiki, so I have danger SPL i believe, and yes, I used firerat's MTD patch
If i remember correctly I used the "all" thing so it went through everything in that patch.
I did that maybe around the time I got CM 6 - so I've been using CM6 and firerat's patch for maybe a month before this happened.
thanks!

Interesting. U don't need danger and mtd patch they do the same thing. I'm confused but maybe u have conflicting internal memory partitioning and that's causing it. Do u have a nandroid backup u can go back to that will boot into the os?

I do but it gives me the same error:
"Can't read MISC: etc etc etc"
This happens when I try to do anything, data wiping, wiping the cache, anything!
I don't even know if it acutally restored the image or not or if the wipe actually happened, because the progress bar is always present for whatever I'm trying to do, its just at the end the error comes up.
In terms of wiping I've tried wiping everything and installing CM6, to no avail. I can't re-reroot the device or downgrade it because recovery always comes up instead of fastboot... I'm stuck!!
Thanks for your insight!
If u plug your phone into the computer and select USB toggle does your sdcard show up on your computer?
Sent from my HTC Magic SparksMod using XDA App
Yep! I can select that MOUNT SD thing and I can transfer files over. Thats what I did to try and flash the rom again, but like always it just gives me that error after its done.
Well i hope you have a spare phone for the time being. I will try to figure something out and keep you informed. Or someone smarter than me will come along and give you the answer. It seems several people have had this prob. but i have not found the solution. Has to be something you can do from a shell in recovery mode to create some space or something to get back into the os. Ill get back with you hopefully with some good news.

It would appear that you can run adb commands while in recovery using a shell. Maybe you can do that and use df to see what has low space. When you find that out you can cd to that directory and type ls and get a list of what is in that directory. Maybe delete a few things to clear some space? Can anyone confirm this?

Yeah I found that thread already... but like me they didn't find a solution either. Plus I do not have a backup misc image so me deleting it would be rather disasterous.
Any other ideas or things I could try?
I'm just about ready to wait for the desire Z or the galaxy S instead of trying to tinker with this old phone...
I have a g1 that I rooted using universal androot, I decided to uninstall myfaves and was unaware that it somehow affected contacts. Afterward I performed a restore to my phone, thinking it was going to help but now I'm stuck in the google welcome screen and the welcome app crashes every time it gets to sync and I cannot get past the welcome screen. I know it was a stupid thing to do, if anyone can help me I would appreciate it.
Can you go into Recovery mode?
Yeah, I can get into recovery mode. I also used the hard reset (alt + w), the sign in still crashes once it starts synching.
Try to restore nandroid

lol if you have a custom rom in and you remove an important app, doing a hard reset wont restore a custom rom... you have to either restore a nandroid/BART backup file (which means you needed to make the backup before you messed up the custom rom) or you need to re-flash the rom completely... which there are many guides and methods here on xda you can follow to properly flash roms, basic method is boot recovery, wipe data, cache, sd ext, etc..... than repair sd ext!!! than flash new rom.
Be sure you have the proper requirements needed for Rom! ex:
Radio=1.2.xxxxxx/2.22.xxxxx (many different ones)
hboot=0.95.xxx/1.3.xxxx (many different ones)
sdext=2,3 or 4 (some require none)
I will try it out, thank you.

another method to try (not garenteed) would be to unzip the rom on your pc, go to system/app folder and copy the fav5.apk file to root of sd card on your device. than go to market and download 'oi file manager' (or any type of file manager app) than flash the fav5.apk file that way.... make sure unknown sources is checked in settings/applications on device
Awesome thanks
Got it working!
I got it working. Just wanted to post the update, thank you guys for the help!!!
as the title says,I'm getting boot loops after installing many apps,my research shows that this is not app related,I didn't checked with another rom or kernel,I checked both intern sd and extern sd and results are the same.I'm using Rocket rom V 22 with AbyssNote kernel V 4.2 and ThunderBolt script v2.6.1 with addons.so the question is how to fix this restart loops, and to be more specific, these r soft boots, meaning the screen goes black and then just the boot sound with no animation and the lockscreen appears after that.any help is so appreciated.
how do you know it isnt app related? you are using the same apps on both internal and sd ad getting the same issue
hard reset and reflash the rom and see if it occurs then or try a different rom/kernel
becuase I tested -the hard way, installing 1 by 1,and different combinations-and hard reset dosen't solve the problem, may be I test with stock rom and kernel.

if this is happening on stock and custom rom.....then this should be one of the app problem. Some app is interfering with the system and making to to stop unexpectedly resulting in soft boots ! You will have to check every app and identify the one causing problem!

Try installing one app at a time. And see if that gives the problem. If not then move to the other one. Wait for sometime after installing each app so that you get to know whether that app is the culprit. Hope you get to catch it .... !!

This boot loop is my problem too. Too many apps. Android says can't manage that much appsa and suggests to get rid of some apps I definitely need, like k-9-mail, whatsapp... Every time different apps. Rooted or not. Newest stock rom.
Happens again and again after put off the phone.
When I deinstalled a couple of them there is a chance the boot loop passes.
Any idea beside deinstall most of the apps? Please help.

So I just successfully rooted my lovely HTC One from Sprint. I've got TWRP 2.6.0.1 on it and all.
I'd REALLY like to get rid of all this garbage on my phone that I'm never going to use, however I also would like to keep it as close to stock as possible. I really enjoy Sense for the most part (minus quirks that I'm willing to live with, and BlinkFeed). I know how/can find out how to load a custom rom - I had CM7 on my HTC EVO 4G (1st Gen) and loved it. But I really don't want to be without Sense.
Can anyone make any suggestions as to what I should do/which rom I should use?

Sorry, I'm overwhelmed at the wealth of knowledge here. Is there a link to the specific one you're talking about? Search didn't do me a ton of good. Though I suppose I could send the guy a message and inquire about his ROM.
Thank you for all your help guys!
Okay so I've decided that I want to try the OMJ ROM. Now here's where I am unsure of exactly how to do it. I see that certain ROMs require different methods. I can't just copy the ZIP to my internal storage and use TWRP to flash it, right? It has to be more complicated than that...
Also, I just went past the return window for the phone so I really cannot afford to brick it. I assume that there's next to no chance of the aforementioned tragedy befalling me providing I stick with the mainstream ROMs?
Most roms are in a flashable format i use the CM 10.2 nightly myself. from what i can tell as long as you can get into the bootloader your safe. I wiped my whole phone SD card and everything accidentally with TWRP one time. Ended up having to use sideload to get a CM rom installed again but i was never in danger of bricking. When flashing roms always remember to do a factory reset to wipe the cache and do an advanced wipe of the data and system. after the rom is installed it will ask you to wipe the cache again which is always nice to do.

No worries, I am new to the unlocking scene too with this device . Those flashable zips will normally have the boot.img files included and when installing twrp will take care of it via the script inside the zip. if you open the zip file with winzip or something you should see that file on the root. TWRP or ClockworkMod recoveries make it really easy to install and backup roms.
flashing the boot.img i guess is for recovery purposes say if the system is in a boot loop. Or maybe if you upgrade the system only and didnt change boot img between two different roms. I personally never had to do this. After unlocking the device i used fastboot to replace the recovery and just do everything else inside the recovery.

Alright, so I've got OMJ's rom running no problem. Love the new feel but what I'm wondering is...is there still a way to delete apps like Stocks and other crap I won't use? I can disable some but not all, and none am I able to uninstall completely.
Would it be something as simple as going into the OMJ ZIP file and removing the unwanted apk files and then re-flashing to that version?

I suppose that could be one way of doing it, but i dont think its necessary. if you are already rooted or can install root easy i would just install a Root file explorer. Browse to the /system/app folder i think it is and delete the APKs from there.

Yeah I tried that with ES explorer AND Root File Manager. ES would have an error, and Root File Manager would simply say it was deleted but it was never actually deleted. I think it has something to do with the security. I'm not really sure, haha! I'm used to being able to just openly delete apps from within Settings>Apps like the old days of my EVO 1st gen.
hmm interesting as long as the /system is mounted as r/w permissions you should be able to delete. well if you are planning on reflashing using the modify zip method im curious to know if that works.

use Root explorer, and set it at r/w
also Titanium Backup will delete it for you too.
If I remember correctly there are a few apps in the play store that are specifically for getting rid of "bloatware".....maybe search bloatware removal, our uninstall bloatware something like that. Hopefully this helps!

Thanks! I'm working on it now. I did not see an app called "ROM Cleaner" or "ROMCleaner" but I did find something called Rom Toolbox Lite that I'm going to attempt to use.
Will post back. I may look for the ROMCleaner on the net and just install it manually.
Edit: So I guess I showed my ignorance there. It appears ROM Cleaner is something offered through the forum. I'm unsure of how to use it so I'll take a look around.

It's very doubtful you will have success with Romtoolbox either once you reboot all the apps will return
