Hi all,
Wondering if anyone else is running into this. I installed the Exchange Services APK from apkmirror, and was able to get Gmail to support exchange accounts. However, after a period of time, the account vanishes from the device. I found some threads on the S6 forum where this also occured, but can't seem to locate a solution anywhere. Anyone have any ideas? I've tried all the usual suspects such as clearing data/cache, etc. No luck. Running stock 5.1.1 on a 920i.
Thanks.

Oh, good! I'm seriously glad that I'm not the only person this happens to. Perhaps if we compare notes, we can isolate the issue.
I'm running an OH6 firmware (stock for the n920i) and had package disabler pro disabling a bunch of things (but nothing that I wasn't disabling when the problem did NOT occur on either an 'a' or 'c' variant.) I've also tried with the gm.exchange apk installed as a user app and as a system app.
Most recently, I tried it with package disabler pro completely removed from the device to see if that matters. (I'm now rooted and can use titanium backup to disable bloat.) Same results.
I've also tried with samsung's exchange support disabled and enabled (it didn't matter.)
I'm almost considering to just use samsung's email program for the exchange server and gmail for .. well.. gmail. I'd rather that both accounts are accessible from the same program, but I'm not willing to use my gmail account from the samsung program (as it doesn't support advanced gmail functionality that I need.)
Had the same problem. Went back to using k9. Would love to find a solution.

That's based on Tmobile's N920TUVU1BOH6. Do you know if anyone else running that firmware is using exchange via gmail - and if it's working or not?
What apk Version you are using?
I have the same issue until i install the com.google.android.gm.exchange_5.0.101238867-502287_minAPI19(nodpi).apk
This is for the latest API!

I never had this problem on my "c" variant... only on the "i" variant. However, I'm willing to try anything at this point... Just installed and configured 5.0.101238867 (from apkmirror.) Wish me luck.

Well, if anyone actually did wish me luck, it seems it might be working. With 5.0.101238867 (likely taken a nexus marshmallow RELEASE image), I've now been 24 hours without losing the gmail exchange account.
However, I am noticing another problem: On my phone, I can't edit any of the contacts sync'd via google's exchange. I can view them, but there doesn't seem to be any mechanism to edit them with Samsung's contacts apk. (The option to edit is there, but when I select it, I can't actually change anything.)
Edit: If I sync the contacts with Samsung's activesync/exchange support, I can edit the contacts... so this might just be a case of gmail contact sync being incompatible with samsung contact sync. In order to edit the contacts sync'd with gmail's exchange support, I have to install the google contacts apk from a nexus device running 5.1.x (or from apk mirror.)

Did this end up working full-time for you? I have installed the 5.0.101238867 and it survived a reboot (what I believed was removing the accounts before...) but I woke up this morning to find my work account gone.

Strictly speaking, you don't need root to install the firmware - but you will trip KNOX when you install TWRP or Philz CWM (which is the only way I'm aware of to get the 't' system on a non-t variant.)

Disabling the knox software won't prevent the knox fuse (or flag) from being tripped if/when you flash a custom recovery.
However, the knox software will stop working once the fuse/flag is tripped.

I ended up giving up on Gmail and finding a better solution anyway. Aqua Mail can be made to look almost exactly like Gmail, so I went that route and it works perfectly. I also like the additional customization it allows for. Also, Boxer has a nice Gmail clone that Cyanogenmod is using that looks promising as well.

As far as I know they were pulled from the Lollipop build, but other than that, no. I have them installed on my device and they are running great. I think they have a conflicting sig to keep unrooted peeps from installing. you will have to uninstall the old app and install this one to get it up and running. I believe you had to do the same w/ the keyboard app too.

I'm on M3 rooted with Despair kernel.
Got Android pay update and tried to activate it by adding a credit card information. It bailed out saying that my phone can't be trusted, I figured out that's because of root.
I tried to unroot in SuperSu. First by disabling Enable Superuser root button, second by Full unroot. Both methods didn't work, Android pay still couldn't be activated.
I then tried to format and flash boot, system, recovery MPA44I images. I started to get a RED message your phone can't be trusted on boot. Android pay still couldn't be activated. NOTE: I didn't erase data partition.
I don't want to do a full factory reset.
What are my options now ?

Go to the Android Pay app info, and uninstall updates. This will roll it back into Google Wallet. You should also go and uninstall the new wallet app if you have it so as to avoid confusion.
After that, I had to find an APK site that could update my wallet app back up to Version 9.0. I've since disabled auto-updates to the Google Wallet app until I see some signs of support for root.

More controversial is the source. I use Open GAaps builds w/o issue. Others claim only builds tweaked for SlimLP will function properly. Both should work and auto update to the latest versions once installed. As you (and others) have discovered it doesn't always work that way. Don't have a decisive answer; simply recapping past discussions.
If you are indeed on 0.14, 0.15 is out. Try flashing the latest version. Hopefully you've already had it fixed but I still recommend you update your rom
I was running SlimLP and I kinda liked it, but the CM build is updated very regularly so I feel a little better on a more up-to-date build. Performance may have been a tad better on Slim though, hard to say.
Mee too. I found that Exchange services stop working if Gmail app is installed. Just freeze Exchange services with Titanium backup.
dear XDA Developers.
My name is Gordon and i work as a real estate agent and most of my ads are placed on air b&b.
Since the last update the of their application, beginning of December, they sort of see that i already placed before ads with them (multiple posting isn't allowed) and they are blocking my accounts instantly as soon as i click on "LIST YOUR PROPERTY" ( basically the last step to publish the ad).
I used a rooted bluestacks with xposed framework with success for more than 3 months till they've made the update.
I also tried with a non rooted emulator and some tools to change IMEI etc.
also i tried to place an ad directly from a browser installed in the emulator.... same thing, my account gets blocked when i try to put live my ad.
Also each time i try to place an ad i create new gmail for play store and basically make new account.
What should i do?
Sorry in advance for any misunderstandings but i am new with this, so hope you guys can understand.
I don't think this has anything to do with root, Xposed, IMEIs, or anything phone related. They're probably detecting something about the ads that you're trying to post.
I do believe that if an app is designed to look for an installed XPosed Framework within a device, then, i believe, the answer would be Yes.
In addition, flashing the XPosed Framework does require root in order for the XPosed Framework to be able to be flashed (weather by a custom recovery like TWRP or CWM or by the FlashFire app for those devices that do not have/unable to have a custom recovery).
I hope i answered your question okay...

I posted each time new ads, from new account - even new gmail account for play store....
Basically they are seeing that i am returning and creating new account - they somehow detects that i already create account with them.
Like i said, it worked perfectly (with Xposed - changing the emulator details) since the last update of their application.
Also the listing never gets live, at the last step - when i place the ad - as soon as i press "list your property" instantly i receive an email : "your account was disabled".
What should i change in my PC/Emulator to stop detecting me that i already created accounts with them?

Dear Ibuprophen,
Thanks for your reply ! :good:
I used rootcloak and other xposed applications to prevent root detection -with no success.
Also i tried to post from an un-rooted emulator but they are still blocking me.
i am thinking to buy a tablet and root it to add xposed but i still don't know if it will be a good invest considering that i tried from Bluestacks + MEmu + many other emulators, i thought that they are detecting a device information that remains the same all the time - no success.
Also i tried to create account and place ad from chrome - installed on emulator - no success. They keep tracking me, dunno how...
I even tried to install bluestacks in a virtual machine - hoping that something will change and they will permit me place my ad - again no success...
Are you listing all these ads from the same network (i.e. your network at your estate agents?) My first guess is that they are seeing multiple listings from a single ip address. Maybe try using a vpn like cyberghost?

I personally can still install the apks without problems. I didn't need to try adb sideload. otherwise I would not have loaded the list. Anyway I will in these days identify the package involved and make it visible. It was a feature that I personally don't use much based on my configuration. In any case, I repeat, you did well to report it. I will provide to insert it on the thread.

Thanks mate, and I give you a little advice about unlocking the bootloader: it gave me an unlock error even though I never unplugged the Mi account from the device and it was all hours past. With the latest version of the MiUnlock it gave me an unlock error despite everything being in order. I solved by installing version 2.2.624.14. I'll tell you just in case :fingers-crossed:

After doing this, the calendar is no longer working. I didn't noticed you included the calendar in those commands, why would you do that?

Because as i said, this is a Debloat, i use third party apps for my personal configuration. especially in packages like in this case "calendar"; it is not difficult to guess that doing a debloat eliminates a related service. That's why I always say to make a backup.
Except that removing the calendar provider doesn't allow the google calendar app to work (the play store version, not the one installed by default). It is completely unnecessary to remove it (again, the provider, not the app) and I wouldn't consider it bloatware at all.
I recommend you to use this https://forum.xda-developers.com/poco-f1/how-to/tool-xiaomi-adb-fastboot-tools-t3887359
Or visit the saki github https://saki-eu.github.io/XiaomiADBFastbootTools/
It's better and make you easily to debloat or do any adb/fastboot needed. :fingers-crossed:
