Guys my cousin lives in Muscat and I'm planning to get me a Note 8 from there since its cheaper there. My question is whether all the features on the device if I use it in India. If it won't are there any working work outs.
what is the model no# if its sm-n950F only then you can use it in india or else you cant
if sm-n950f then you can flash indian firmware and start using samsung pay india make sure the device is unlocked phone rather than locked carrier
Thanks for the headsup. He's coming next week to India. I'll ask him if he can get me the same version.
Hi,
Im from Mexico and I just bought an unlocked Note 8 from amazon(sprint version) because it was really cheap ($650 USD) , i flashed the unlocked rom and now i want to use Samsung Pay which has just been launched in my country but because my phone is from the US i not able to make it work with my cards (as expected). My question is: I have a US Note 8 (Snapdragon) my country is Exynos only so i cant flash the local rom but could i flash only the home CSC from the unlocked Mexican rom to enable samsung pay?
As several threads mentioned Samsung pay is running based on the CSC, I have similar request with you, just want to add different cards from two country
Hello did you got it to work?
I've got a Hong Kong N9500 and have been happily using Samsung Pay in the UK for the last 2 weeks no problems.
The only drawback is that you won't get the local offers and vouchers etc but the card payments work perfectly fine
Hi All, I have purchased note 8 (sm-n950F dual sim) from the Netherlands. I will be visiting India for vacations. I have installed Samsung pay in my note 8 from apk mirror but it always gives connection issue and I am unable to use it. Is it possible to Flash Indian firmware on it and use Samsung pay in India?
My honest recommendation is to use Android Pay instead of Samsung Pay.
Hello, I've been flashing these Note's since back when Darthstalker was RULING the Note Series, ( One of the BEST to do it ), however, ever since T-Mobile decided to lock their bootloaders I've switched to the OnePlus. I am thinking about purchasing the International Note 8 (SM-N950F) because from the research I've done I've learned that this is the variant to get, I've also read that the Note 8 (SM-N950F/FD) can also be Rooted and Flashed via TWRP, However, when I search online to purchase that version (SM-N950F/FD) all I find is the Note 8 (SM-N950F/DS), are those 2 model numbers the same, or can it be flashed the same as the (SM-N950F and (SM-N950F/FD)? I ask cause i don't want to purchase the Note 8 SM-N950F/DS and not be able to flash it, or worse BRICK the Device.. If anyone can shed light to these questions i would gladly appreciate it, community and its yearssss of serving us enthusiast...!!! God Blessssss...!!!! In short, is the SM-N950F/FD the same as the SM-N950F/DS..????
They use the same firmware.
And T-Mobile didn't decide to start looking the bootloaders. ALL the US Galaxy phones have locked bootloaders. Even the factory unlocked, unbranded version you buy from Samsung.
T mobile and sprint were the last ones to lock up there boot loader, the ONLY 2 carriers that had locked boot loaders back then was AT&T + Verizon. So it was T mobile + Sprint that were that LAST Phone Carriers to Lock there Boot loader, this is a Fact, from the S7 and up is when they Started, ask anyone,,, thanks for your response Either way, Blessss....
N950F/DS is dual sim model where N950F is a single sim model. Aside from that everything else is identical
Hello, Actually I'm residing in South Korea and I bought my phone from Morocco and I can't use Samsung pay neither other contactless payment app here. I already contacted the customer service here they told me to contact the one from where you bought the phone which I did but the service in Morocco told me that they don't have any answer for this problem.
I've read somewhere that's because of the firmware and I should change it to the country I'm in. I have a Samsung galaxy s10 SM-G973F (international version) and my question is would I have any problems if I install SM-G973N(Korea version) firmware on my phone (same processor Exynos 9820) ? and is it going to solve the problem ?
Thank you!
Hey, no expert here or anything just my 2 cents. I found a Reddit article that asks a similar question. Their Exynos device was in the US but Samsung Pay wouldn't work for them either. The comments seem to point to a change in the CSC needing to match the local region. You can read the article here. For the OP of that question they were hopelessly stuck because there is no US firmware for the Exynos version. You may have better luck since there is a version for your location.
