Has anybody been following what is going on with the TPP? There are some revisions in there that look like sites like xda will be banned and even completely deleted from the internet.
And now for the remaining 6.9 billion of us who don't live in the USA and have no idea what TPP is?
There is another thread with more detail linked below. Feel free to pick the discussion up there.

It's VERY nice; make sure you search it first for ANYTHING Kaiser-related.
Here's the XDA-DEVELOPERS GENERIC Wiki.
It contains generic info - not only Kaiser-related questions. You will want to read it first if you for example look for a software. Of particular interest are Menneisyys' articles, Bibles and tutorials in the half of the page - you'll definitely want to check them out if you have a generic software / gaming / application / hacking-related question.

The site has running costs and donations are needed to pay the costs. Donations to XDA-Dev can be made by clicking on the Donate button on the brown bar near the top of the page. (Same bar that has the User CP, Search and Log out buttons.) But here's a link anyway: http://forum.xda-developers.com/donations.php
Any donations to individual members are entirely up to you. The principle we have is that members do not act for financial reward. If however a member makes an outstanding contribution or if you think they could do more but perhaps due to lack of equipment they can't - then you might make a donation to an individual

Is it possible for the [search forum]/[search this thread]/[search wiki] buttons on this site to be linked to google directly instead of the current situation?
I would hazard a guess that most folks are searching for older threads to check for answers to their (duplicate) questions and such, users should be able to see newer posts without searching at all.
Thanks
I know the site Admin has been working on the search functions in the hunt for improvements to be made. This I think is on-going but perhaps we'll get an update in a couple of days.

The problem is that is an absolutely mammoth task. There are thousans of threads and tens of thousands of posts. It is also complicated as the posts are often inter-related and deleting one leaves others hanging and not making much sense.
The idea is that the WIKI is the place for confirmed answers and tested solutions. Every member has a duty I believe, to spot things in the forums that have reached a sensible answer to problems and then go and create a section in the WIKI that cuts out all the chit chat and offers the edited solution in a neat condensed form. So yes, some forums do end up messy, but they are the talking shop, the WIKI is intended to be the tidy area for concise answers/solutions.
Not enough members take on this responsibility - the Mods are volunteers and there is only one day to day Admin. The Mods are generally kept busy with reported posts and squabbles of one sort or another and spotting the odd thing as they browse.
So if folk have a particular interest in a certain area, or have followed a problem from start to final answer, then get to grips with the WIKI and add a section that gives the refined solution.

Ahhh the happy ventings of an angry scotsman
I saw two n00bs helping each other earlier on today. It made me all warm and fuzzy inside lol
Technically not my forum I'm just a mod, but this first one is tech related. To get to the forum click "Forum" by home.

This one I pretty much solely moderator as the admin moderators Techgeeks a little we are currently trying to get this one onto a new server . It has to do with GPT's (Get paid To's) It's basically ways to get free money legally, and quickly.
If you want to get started in GPT's and don't know any good sites read my review thread
Thanks guys!!!!
I mentioned you guys in the handhels part on tech geeks, and I got the idea of that part from XDA .

Annoy the hell outta me. I like to wander the forums, but lately its a ***** trying to find development threads since they are all moved around. Now we have Nexus 3G and 4G ROMs that are similar other than model numbers all being moved to the General forum. Cyanogenmod Kangs, Miui ports, Bugless Beast. This is confusing as hell.
So maybe these aren't meeting the developement criteria to stay within sub-forum. But maybe its time to reconsider rules of the forums. For someone new jumping into these threads, this General Forum looks like ass. I can't even count how many ICS ROMs there are, and then have to I have to put my Sherlock Holmes hat on and investigate which one is for my device.
I know I can bookmark threads, and save favorites. But I like seeing buzz in the development forums by seeing what stays bumped. Can't really do that in the general.
Just my 2 pennies on all this moderator power tripping BS going on here.

I agree. I've sent messages to other mods and the only response i get is that they will look into it. It is definitely an unnecessary move on the mods part, but what can we do. Look for this thread to be locked also before too long, because it probably will be, your not allowed to express your opinion in the general section now either. I wish we could get more developers over on Rootzwiki. I don't see this happening on all of the other forums either.

Agree...
I couldn't agree more. I made a thread in the General Section, the main General section, not for any particular device. The thread was "Show your ICS home screens". I said in the thread, "Here's my current setup on NS4G". So they moved the thread to Nexus s general. then another modderator moved it again. I gave up.
Devs come on to post thir work, they can't post in certain forums or post links until they have posted X amount of times. I get the idea, but it's stupid! I can open a new user acct, go to the iphone section post 10 posts totally unreleated to android, then come back to the Android section, & like magic, I'm qualified to post in the dev threads.
Another thing is the mods pissing off the devs. A development forum without developers posting to it won't stand long.
I can't believe this thread isn't already closed...
I also agree with everything that was said. Another issue that chaps my ass is the retards running rampant in development threads. Shame that the knowledgeable, skilled developers are treated like dogs while idiots who can't even make a phone call are allowed to clog up threads and curse at people who try to help them.
This forum has very quickly become unbearable to frequent. I know it's a free world and I'm free to post elsewhere, but what drew me to xda was its reputation as a true developer's site. Very sad to see what it's become.

Ya, I also agree. It's a mess around here. This site was always my first stop in the morning. Now I hit Rootz Wiki and a few others.
And the General forum. Sheesh!
Agreed. With everything said here. This place is a cluster***.

The best way to search threads is to go to google....
Then type what you want and at the end of your search criteria;
Type "xda"
This will pull the thread you need right up.
Hope this helps.
I have to agree as well. I don't know how the other phone sections are looking, but the Nexus S section is way too messy, not to mention the fact that 2 of the best Roms (GPA19 and Oxygen) are not even on this site. You gotta ask why the good developers are not on this site anymore. Yet Drew Garen's crap is everywhere. I have been using this site for over 4 years and this is the worst it has ever been. Something needs to change, and quickly.
*UPDATE* Jesus, as I was typing this the thread was moved. This is exactly what we are talking about here. Quit doing this stupid ****.
I guess I'm the only one here that thinks you basically need to learn how to use the forums, rather than expect them to suit your ideal. There's a few million other members to consider.

Listen you guys...if you seem to have an issue with anything on this site and have already contacted "The Mods" and have not been replied properly..contact the Administrators with your concerns instead of opening yet another "Boo-hoo..I hate this site and everything it stands for but I'ma continue to download anyway" thread.
Thread closed because I felt the need to do so and to flex my Mod muscles....Ta-ta

My thread here was locked, and there was no reason posted. I understand if the lock is justified, but I'm just wondering whether it was a matter of not being Nexus related or whether it goes under the clause for some kind of advertisement, or what exactly it was. I don't know who exactly locked it or I'd just PM them directly, so yeah...

Looks like you're spamming the board with this stuff and your signature and it probably benefits you in some way.
You apologize IF you broke any rules, did you even bother reading them?
13. Advertising and Income Generation
Commercial advertising, advertising referral links, pay per click links and other income generating methods are forbidden. Do not use xda-developers as a means to make money.
7. Do not spam, sell or trade on the forums.
If you wish to advertise a product, contact us we provide ads. But do not post it in the forums, it will be removed and you're likely to receive a ban.
Also, you could have PM'd the mods.
I'll just keep adding codes to the OP, I guess, and remove them as they expire. Yay free money.

i'm thinking that has something to do with it...
Oh, I missed the referral link part >.>. There was a thread in one of my past forums where people were exchanging Dropbox referral links which was left open, and I guess I assumed it was okay. Am I allowed to keep it in my signature, or is that not allowed either?
As for PM'ing the mods, I don't know if there are specific ones moderating this forum or whether they are universal to all the forums, and I'm pretty sure there a lot of mods overall.

I don't really get it what part of that quote was a bad thing. The other codes provide no benefit to me, other than the first one, if that's what you're wondering.
In the end, it's a discount for people starting new T-Mobile contracts which is a lot of people in this forum, and I'm not making any more than they are. Plus, I can only add 10 people under me, and I can't add any more people or ways to make money beyond that, so I was not looking for monetary gains as opposed to just offering a way to save money. That being said, the rules of this forum are up to the XDA people and I'll respect them.

Wow, you really do learn something new every day. But yes, thank you for pointing this out, and I'll be sure to do that from now on. This thread can now be locked or deleted or whatever else necessary.
I've been away and I'm disappointed and disturbed by all the splinter groups starting up for different countries.
This is supposed to be ONE COMUNITY WITH ONE LANGUAGE. It states this. Splitting off is nothing short of breaking up XDA though self imposed racism.
It stinks on a thread where the phone is identical everywhere. Use Google translate.
Don't undue the ideals of the site.
If you want an Arab thread I'm sure one exists in your own country. This is not a site of race groups. We are all the same with the same love of technology.
Lord knows why the moderators let this happen.
I've even seen an English thread. This is harmful racist and dumb. I'd bet money it's newer members. If you don't like it as it is move. Don't fragment the site into the dust
Sent by mobile telephone.
Don't like those threads? Then don't open them
Why not? There might be some country specific questions which might be better answered in a country specific thread.
There are lots of questions related to carriers and accessories which might be country specific. It's easier to ask those questions in a country specific thread.
Just having country specific thread is not racism.

Exactly, let's not be fooled by political correctness. Creating a country specific thread and spreading hate or taking initiative against other race/nation/country etc...yup it's the same
and what does this have to do with the n4?
actually in the galaxy S4 forum the regional threads are not allowed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2381647

Speak for yourself. I find your post more of those things than any other language oriented thread I've read on this site, congrats.
This has already been discussed and country specific threads are allowed on XDA as long they are not made exclusive, they stay on topic (i.e. where to find the best deals in a given locale, carrier reviews, etc.), and the discussions being carried on in these threads stay within the rules.
With that being said, this particular discussion only stands to stir up trouble and cause arguments, so I have no choice but to close it.
Thank you, and have a great day.
