Hi peeps, i was hoping for a flawless cm rom for the mini, but dont see that happening really, or atleast happening soon.
So please give me your opinions on the other roms that are available. Which is best? Closest to flawless

i agree w/ him. Dmod's really fast and stable, everything is functional.
DMod V5 Rocks!
+1 for DMod V5 Rom for S3 Mini... So smooth, fast and stable...
In what way is it better than enox? Which I am currently using.. I like the stability, the battery consumption etc. I don't use software that demands high cpu or gpu.
i use dmod v5 .very smooth, low battery consumption and super stable. i'll go with it,even i didn't ever had enox's rom ,so my opinion isn't based on any kind of comparison...
I tried them all, including cm and went back to stock. Tweaked, rooted and moded like I want

What has CM for advantage above fw or other rom's?

A clear difference is speed. No more lags in opening anything which is the major drawback of official jb.
How about battery performance. I now use dxamd1 with cocore 6.8. And I charge once a day in the nightly hours. And use my phone freqently the whole day

Battery is quite good for me. A good start considering the rom is not optimized yet.

Battery life is amazing, considering cm10.1 is still quite raw. I've just plugged my phone in after 2 days.. 15% battery left. Some whatsapp, some messaging, some browsing, some music... the usual stuff. Wifi on 100% of the time.
So is speed, smooth as butter. The only drawback I was able to find so far is benchmark results... ran antutu and scored 5030 points, while the better stock JB roms are near or at 7000 points. Mind you, if I hadn't run that benchmark, I wouldn't have noticed there was a performance deficiency.. no lags, no hiccups, nothing.
If you don't use video recording, and don't mind turning the volume down then up during a call to solve the low volume problem... then yes, go with CM10.1 as it is right now, it doesn't dissapoint. It can only get better!
So wich cm Rom version comes out best out of the box here. And can i flash it over all fw versions?

I hope that the issue of video playback is resolved soon!!
That's the only reason I don't try cm10.1
I think it will be fixable, I remember the times when g5 cm9 didn't have hq acceleration

Well, there are a lot of CM10.1 nightlies... Have a look in the archive, I've personally had excellent results with the 20130621 one. Don't flash the latest 20130627 since it's corrupted (it weights 94 MB and a full rom is about 165-170MB)
From what I've read so far, CM10.1 works just fine if flashed over XXLQE firmware, but could have problems if using another one as base. I used polish XXLQE as base and it worked perfectly, apart from the two or three bugs CM10.1 still has.
I think cm 10.1 and pac 23.0 works well with any other base too. I'm using indian ddulp8 and got no issue at all. But better install from fresh stock firmware to avoid any problems.
Hi everyone!
My Girlferind has a s3 mini. I rooted her phone and installed DmodV3N custom Rom 3~4 months ago. Everything is going well except the extraordinary battery consumption problem. She used the great app 'greenify' and day to day operation is very smooth. But battery won't last 8 hr even under normal to light use. So, I finally decided to flash a new Rom to her phone. Can anyone recommend me a stable and performance oriented custom Rom with least battery consumption? Better not based on stock Rom, and no touchwiz UI.
thanks in advance!!

But, Dmod seems more like a stock Rom than AOKP and CM. and AOKP is only about 160mbs, CM ~400mbs. why Dmod is over 600mbs? and I can install no frills cpu after.

It is a really subjective question, it depends on how you use your device, but stock rom may have better battery life

So, stock Rom has best battery life? But, My GF doesn't like Touchwiz UI and I can't possibly afford to buy a new HTC one or Xperia Z Ultra for her right now She use Nova Prime, but I m abit suspicious that it drains battery.

I just flashed Maclaw AOKP and I have to say i m impressed. The display look crispier and it generally has no serious bugs, All connectivity works! The operation is smooth and quick. I will check the battery life later By the first look, it seems like a really nice ROM which is running on 4.2.2. Now my S3mini Looks like a Nexus4mini

My sister has just bought an S III Mini, but it is marked by Vodafone with all Vodafone's stuff pre-installed. Which ROM (light, fast and stable) do you advice me to replace the Vodafone one? On my S Advance I'm using HarshJelly 2.0 and it works great, is there something like that?

Yes, I checked some threads but I don't know which ROM may be good, I was looking for a light and fast one. I wanted a simple tip from who has already tried and installed.
So I have flashed from SOKP to CM11 and am finding that Android OS takes up more then 40% of my battery usage... Batterylife is not nearly as good as the stock ROM on the Z1 where Android OS doesn't take up that much.. + I can't get LTE on this ROM in places where I had it on stock, anything I can do about the batterylife and LTE ?? Am really annoyed about the performance
I have some picture proof for you..
Edit: two more similar screens.. One from the SOKP ROM and the other the same CM11 like the previous screen... Its better then SOKP, but still I'm a bit disappointed
Last edit - this is with mobile data off at all times and WiFi on only for the last two or so hours in both cases... :/ CM11 is significantly better, but still nowhere near stock
Do you have any stock CM like ROMs that have at least on-pair battery life performance like stock ?

If you're running utorrent all the time then what do you expect?
Screen on time matters a lot
Issues with custom roms should be reported in their respective threads. There are at least a few CM11 roms for the Z1 and each one will be different.
Try better battery stats app to see what's really chewing your battery.
That's just a coincidence in the screenshots and Utorrent would show up with more % if I left in on all the tims.

Hey guys,
since I only use my Mini as a music player I am looking for a Rom with decent battery life. I ofc have tried the various CM based roms from Novafusion but even if I never turn the screen on they drain 3% battery life per hour, even though I only have 5% wakelocks (since I also use amplify).
Is there any Rom within the region of 1%-2%? I mean, it should be possible considering that I basically only have installed Poweramp and nothing else but CM just doesn't deliver that.
Everything from KK and up is fine, don't really want to got back to JB.
Thanks guys!
Have u tried virginity rom? Or lostvirginity
