I had a very strange issue with my earphones today noon, all of a sudden it stopped working can't hear anything through it, but Loudspeaker is working fine for both incoming and out going calls.
I tried all the solutions posted on the Motorola thread and XDA still no luck, I am running Paranoid android 5.1.1 version. I have a stock ROM backup in my twrp as I am out of town and no WiFi around me I don't feel like restoring back to it.
Does anyone running custom ROM faced the same issue? What was the work around?
device hasn't fallen from me not a single time through out last 4 months of using it. I have seen posts on similar issue for stock 5.1 noting for custom ROMs.
Tried restart, clearing cache and cleaning the headphone Jack no luck so far.
Solution mentioned to turn off hearing aid is not present in the dialer app of PA.
Help needed here plz.

For some odd reason, my wife's phone will randomly lose sound output and input.
For instance, cannot make calls because no sound is heard through speaker and it seems the mic becomes non-functioning, therefore the person on the other line hears nothing.
I've noticed at the same time that no other sounds (system, media, key presses, etc.) can be heard as well.
If the phone is rebooted the problem is fixed. This problem occurs usually once or twice a day. Its running a nearly stock 2.1 w/ root (although no root apps used or installed), I have also tried a different custom rom and have the same issue.
Any ideas? (I have searched and read up on some things, but did not see a definitive answer)
** Working on a fix now **
DrewX2, I'm having the same exact problem. Thought I was crazy! So I have the Damageless 2.08.1 (Android 2.1) ROM installed, and I thought I was being punished for not using Sprint's official ROM image . But you say that your wife's phone exhibited this behavior in more than one setup? What do you mean by "nearly stock"? Maybe someone out there knows of a way to look or download the internal error logs on the Android platform so we can at least get some stack trace info? Thanks!
Here guys, try this thread.

This is the exact fix I installed. So far no problems, will report back in a day or two.
Also, for the earlier question, when I said nearly stock, I should have said I am using nfinitefx45's Stock Sprint Deoxed ROM.
Hello everybody,
I have been waiting a bit until posting this issue to see if future nightly builds of Cyanogenmod solved the problem but to no avail, I already posted on their forums but so far no one has been able to figure out the problem... not that they tried.
I'm using an international Galaxy note (n7000) and these issues have been popping up since last month.
The main problem comes up when using the android keyboard and listening to music at the same time, the phone just seem to struggle a lot, music begins to stutter and usually the phone just becomes unresponsive and I have to force reboot the whole thing. A pain in the neck. Lately the phone just hangs whenever it feels like it and I have to reboot it, it usually happens twice a day.
Sometimes you're able to come back to normal after a few minutes but rarely.
The problem was even worse while using SwiftKey, now I'm back to just using the normal android keyboard but still the issue pops up almost every day. I already did a wipe data/factory reset, no avail.
Any thoughts on this?
Thank you in advance.
Post a log. Which ROM where you on before flashing CM.
sounds like a memory leak, try newer versions or trace down the issue. Check which apps consume most and cpu when it occurs.
Check as previous poster said logfiles

CM 10.1.3-N7000 bluetooth issues
Hello,
I'm using CM 10.1.3-N7000 and I really love it, but I'm forced to use another ROM, just because of the carkit compatibility via bluetooth. The sound is extremely bad.
Does anyone know if it's fixed in later versions or earlier versions?
Are there other ROM's, ot based on CM without the bluetooth problem?
I'm really searching since two days now to find a bluetoothfix, but can't find it.
Pairing and so on is no problem at all, it's just the soundquality that is terrible. (it was not the case with my stockROM)
thank you for giving me some advice!
I switched to Omnirom and I think the problem has been solved now.
If I see that the same problem is back as it was with CM, I will come back to that.
I'm running TD 9.1, and prior was on 8.0. Tried both stock kernel, and a few other ones with no luck. At first when the sounds starts playing, the left speaker works fine, then with in a sec, it will fad to almost nothing. Is this something someone else has encountered? For all I know it has been like this since day one.. But I don't believe so.
Edit: I have also tried clean installs. i have not tried other roms yet.
Double edit: My xda search is not working, but google did for me. Found one other person having somewhat the same issue, but it was never answered. I hate to bump an old tread like that, after i have posted mine already.

I have the exact same issue. Tried million ROMs, sound patches and tricks but nothing change. The easiest way to see the difference between the two speakers is to run the Audio Test using HTC Function Test by dialing *#*#3424#*#*
Finally, I managed to get S-Off and now I'm going to get back to 100% stock flashing RUU_M7_UL_JB_50_BrightstarUS_WWE_1.29.1540.3.exe, I'll do the test again and update the post.
EDIT: I'm full stock and it didn't fix it I guess I have to send it back...
BTW, what did you do? Did you fixed yours?
Running Sinless 5.1.5 now with elemental, everything works 100%. I guess for some reason my phone just didn't like TD, we all know they have a personality of there own..
Sorry for the long wait before response, I don't pay attention very well.
Hi everyone, since i changed to CM13 people are complaining that they can't hear me properly when using BT headset. They say, i sound like R2D2. With the official firmware i didn't had a problem. I can hear the people properly. Anyone experiencing the same problem? Any solutions?
EDIT:
I'm starting to realize, that the issue seems to be periodical (not continuous).
I'm talking, everything ok, and then suddenly people have a problem hearing me.
Then in a while, everything is going to back normal. And then again...

Hello, it seems that it was the headset. Bought a new one, and everything is good. The interesting thing though, that the previous one I was using for years, without any problems, also it didn't have problem with the stock firmware. anyway it was time to change

I don't know if this has been answered anywhere and I am sincerely sorry if it has been.
I am faced with a peculiar problem with my 18K Mi Mix. The phone came with 8.2.5.0. When no updates were forthcoming I decided to root and install a custom ROM. Everything went fine and the phone booted up and I installed my apps. I was using 7.8.31 version of the Beta ROM. However I was faced with a problem of a crackling or static like noise in the background while making calls. The speakerphone and headphone or Bluetooth headset has no problems. Only the call speaker. So I imagined it to be a hardware problem and went back to stock. To my surprise, the problem vanished in stock ROM and any ROM based on Android 6.0. It is only present in Android 7.0. So I guess it might have something to do with the Android 7 ROMs themselves.
Has anybody here faced such issues. If you have kindly help me. I am kinda addicted to the 7.0 ROMs and wish to stay on them if I can get rid of this issue. I was using the Global stable ROM earlier.
Thanks for any help.

Well you've already done the hard work so may as well stick RR rom on the phone. All problems have been ironed out and think you will be happy, I went back to miui awhile ago had crackling in calls although mainly on Bluetooth.

Thanks. Will give it a try.
Finally cracked the problem. As I had suspected, this is a software flaw. The whole issue was being caused by the proximity sensor. The moment I turned the proximity sensor off all problems have vanished. Have replicated the problem a number of times, so am pretty sure that is the cause. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.
you don't fix the problem we need the sensor

You do need the sensor.
But since the problem is not happening with any of the stable version ROMs (I have tried Global stable 8.2.5 and China Stable 8.5.4), I am very sure its not related to hardware. So for the time being I am more than happy keeping the proximity sensor off and using Nougat 7.0 on my Mix. I am pretty sure this has something to do with drivers or firmware and will be taken care of, once the stable versions of 7.0 are released.

Even my Redmi Note 4 has that cracking or scattering sound when bluetooth calls are made. I found temporary solution that is Turn off the WiFi. Looking for permanent solution.
