Hi guys,
I'm new to the Sony devices and today set up Cyanogenmod on my Z3 compact. One thing I am struggling with is how to update the baseband.
I found this to be the most recent firmware for Germany: 23.4.A.1.232 - Unbranded - Germany (1289-4696) and downloaded it with XperiFirm and Flashtool.
Unfortunately the youtube tutorials say "uncheck everything except for baseband". That doesn't work for me because "baseband" isn't even listed in the flashtool, when i go to flashmode and select this firmware.
How can I achieve to update baseband only and not flash the complete thing.

I found in my .ftf file
Check everything except the entries starting with amss_*
did that. the flash went through OK, the baseband is still the same. maybe it was already up to date. i'll check again with the same method on the next update and see.

Only in one of these files I see a something looking like baseband version:

Hello,
I flashed cm11 with recovery and i got a bootloop.Weird thing is it boot to sonly logo then restarts to flashmode and around.Cant get past sony logo.please help me fix.I try flash but i have error.I have LBL.
EDIT:I can flash everything but the system.sin .I have latest version of flashtool and drivers,using win 10.

Znao sam, znaci znao sam, cim sam vidio Windows 10, kontam, jebo mater ili je lik Bosanac ili neki debil iz Indije.
I gle, Bosanac.
Utuli sebi u glavu, Windows 10 je GOVNO.
Flashtool nece da ti radi jer nemas GG Drivere instalirane.
U folderu od flashtool-a imas folder drivers ili nesto, i unutra GGSetup

i had a problem with my phone after 5.1.1 update the screen was going blank and works normally and so on and one time it all goes completely blank when i powered of the phone and started it but the screen went blank nothing appeared and the device turned off after nearly 1 min so i tried to flash a custom rom using flash tool i followed the steps flashing complete but the phone still the same and the software isn't upgraded and this is the flash tool full log

i downloaded a .ftf file from a link that i found online
This sounds more like a display issue than a software one to me. And the FTF flashing seems to have gone smoothly, so it should be on 5.1 right now, unless you got an older FTF by accident. I suggest doing a factory reset if you can, and taking it to the service center to test is the screen is working correctly.

i have flashed a 5.1 ftf firmware and i'm pretty sure of that but the screen was working so good no hit nothing happened and when i connect the device to emma it says that i'm on android 4.3
Connect the device to emma? What's that? And how did you check the firmware version if the phone isn't turning on?
I have .157 and I need to downgrade to C690X_14.4.A.0.108_KernelOnly.ftf, to be able to root it with rootkitXperia_20140719.zip.
Tried with various versions of FlashTool, including newest one 0.9.19.10. Thing is, everything looks normal, it's like it succeeded downgrading it, but still when I go to About section I can still see .157?! I won't try to root it until I see .108 there..... Here's FlashTool log, tried with both enabled and disabled FSC file, USB debugging is on and Installation from unknown sources is on.

Found this tutorial: http://droidosx.blogspot.rs/2015/09/how-to-update-xperia-z1-c6902-c6903.html flashed with ~1 GB FTF file I found there and it's now .108. Still I don't know why previous method didn't work.

The firmware I'm using is LT30p_9.1.A.1.140_1268-3194 Central Europe Skyfall. I can't boot anymore because I keep getting the "yellow-exclamation-mark-in-a-triangle-besides-a-phone" icon.
I tried repairing via Sony PC Companion, but that throws up an error too, reading "There is no update available for your device" (I'm paraphrasing).
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, or how I can get the phone booting again?
Checked the Flashtool logs for the existing firmware number, then downloaded the corresponding FTF and flashed it successfully. Phone's booting again.
Still not sure why the Central Europe firmware wasn't taking, as it's supposed to work on carrier-unbranded phones.

try using older version of flashtool see if that helps quite a few people have troubles with newer versions,if u cant do it why not flash rom based on stock try this it is very good stock rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2658043

Thanks for the advice.
I will try with older version of flashtool.
I have flashed both cyanogen 11 and 12.1 but in both cases there is no sound.
I have done many search but could not find any solution.
Do you have any idea whats the problem?
Your log says something about incorrect bundle. Please retry by finding the correct FTF for your Xperia SP model C5302.
You can use the Xperifirm that is provided with the Flashtool. Kindly look at the XF icon at the main toolbar (where the lightning icon resides)
