S6 Edge Plus Headphone Volume Boost & Speaker Volume Boost
I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY POSSIBLE DAMAGE DONE TO YOUR DEVICE AS A RESULT OF REPLACING SYSTEM FILES.
I WILL NOT TAKE ANY RESPONSABILITY FOR BRICKED PHONES OR LOST DATA.
So i looked everywhere to make the S6 Edge Plus sounds louder, but i could only find a louder mod for the S6 Edge, so I decided to do a small mod myself and share
If you want louder music for your headphones or a little louder for the speaker then simply unzip the attached mixer_gains.z7 and copy the mixer_gains.xml file to system/etc. and change the permissions to -rw -r -r. Restart your phone and enjoy better louder sound
REMEMBER, always back up the original mixer_gains.xml, and do a nandroid back up!
If you want the sounds lower or louder then edit the mixer_gains.xml input 1 Volume values in the media playback volume section from line 6.
Lines 26 and 27 is the headphone volume values.

I haven't tried it yet, but shouldn't it follow the "standard procedure"? Root phone, install Viper as system app, open app and adjust settings and that's it? Or is that too simple in the current stage of development, etc.?

was looking around mixer_paths.xml and i see it has changed from what i'm used to with the lg g2. i dont see a section that specifically has "headphones". i'm trying to increase the headphone volume. does anyone know which area of the mixer_paths needs to be changed to increase volume? i tried increasing "speaker and headphones" rx7 (because that's what was used to increase volume on the g2) but after a reboot i dont notice any increase. any help would be appreciated.
i figured it out. use a text editor that has root and navigate to system/etc. open up mixer_paths.xml. scroll down to the section "play scenario". in that section you'll see "path name="headset". in headset section you'll see rx1 and rx2 digital volume. change the values to what you want up to 100. i have mine at 88. at 88 i can keep the volume around 60% and it is loud with no distortion. so now i dont have to max out the DAC in the phone to get high volume.
if you want to do the speaker do the same steps above for the section "path name="speaker"" and change the rx7 digital volume value.
hope this helps others.

The system file in 4.4.4_167 firmware is different from older released firmwares so do not try those sound mods that are based on older firmwares

I enable X-loud in 4.4.4-167 firmware but when we turn On/Off it is not taking the effect
The Sound levels are same even with X-Loud on. And Song Quality is noisy. May be that's why Sony Disable X-Loud in this release
i flashed it.
no problem
thank you.

1- X-Loud
2- Clear Phase
3- Clear stereo
4- DSP Manager
5- Louder Speaker

To make xLoud stick every reboot you just need to go to system/vendor/etc and delete effect_init_params and reboot your phone. Xloud and clear phase will not be deactivated anymore
Rename or Deleting system/vendor/etc" this file "effect_init_params"

i Fixed it and updated v2.0 link available
Even with the new V2 installed, its still quite quiet. The sound is so much louder in the sound picker for Hangouts and WhatsApp.
So, does this thing actually work? Sound problems are gone finally?
I'd say no, but I haven't tried headphones or anything else. I just want notifications louder!

Let’s face it. Even at max volume, sometimes the speaker on your phone just isn’t loud enough (Yes, I’m looking at you Nexus 5). *However, you*could digitally raise the maximum volume that the speaker allows itself to go to. This will require a rooted android device and could run the risk of damaging your speakers if you go too high, so be warned.
What You will Need:
A rooted Android DeviceES File Explorer
Step 1: Mounting the System
Open up ES file explorer and enable the root explorer. *Then tap on the root explorer tab and a menu will pop up. *Select the Mount R/W tab and mount both*system and /*as*r/w.
Step 2: Locating the mixer_paths.xml
Now, navigate to*/System/etc*and open up the*mixer_paths.xml*with ES note editor. *Before you start making changes, go up into the settings and select*edit*on the file.
Step 3: Changing the Speaker Volume
To change the speaker volume, look for the line*RX7 Digital Volume*under the*Path name= Speaker*and change the value to whatever you desire. *(Going over 95 has the potential of blowing your speaker though).
Step 4: Changing the Headphone Volume
To change the headphone volume, *look for the lines:
<ctl name=”HPHL Volume” /
<ctl name=”HPHR Volume” />
Change the values to 20. *Don’t go beyond 20. *You can also change the RX1 and RX2 values to something like 85, once again, don’t go beyond 95.
Afterwards,*reboot*and you should notice an increase in volume. *Feel free to play around with the other volume settings found in the mixer_paths.xml, just make sure you have a backup and not to blow out your speaker! Android Boost speaker volume success!

Hi. I have 3T With Oxygen 5.0.1 and when volume is on lowest position, notifications and ringtones are still sounds too loud. Is there a chance to decrease minimum volume level? I have root, stock kernel
You can get an Xposed module to increase the volume steps, or edit the build.prop, so that you don't have as big a jump between a decent volume and too loud or too soft. Otherwise I hope someone can answer this.

I would get a custom kernel and decrease volume with the app like Kernel Adiutor

Hi,
-ROOT
if you have root
1. Install QUICKEDIT (free from play store)
2. Open file: /vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml
3. Search for HPHL/HPHR values (first screenshot) and change the value to 20
4. Search for RX1 digital volume (and RX2... Like on attached screenshots) and change values to 86-88. Dont change values any higher for safety reasons
5. SAVE file, exit Quickedit
6. REBOOT
7. enjoy!
SEE https://youtu.be/0sCYcAbUn4M
Tested on redmi note 7 miui 11, android 10/ aosp roms also
-NOROOT
1. Open settings on phone
2. Set "Japan" in region settings
3. DONE! open any music player and enjoy
No root or app or restart needed.
Tested on redmi note 7, eu version, miui 10
Didnt work for me. Any reason why?

No, this values only changes volume gain via 3,5 jack for headphones. So this will not work for Bluetooth /speaker (internal or external).
If you connect phone via line-in cable to car/speaker aux input, volume will be boosted
Thanks
thanks this solution
Why is Japan louder by default?
Maybe so that the shutter sound will still be heard through the headphones?
Thanks Japan.
I got root on my stock rom MIUI 12.02. I changed the values as recommended (even raised RX1 and 2 to 94) but there is no difference. Still too low volume.
How i can only boost earpiece in-call volume manual with edit vendor/etc/mixer_paths.xml, what i need to do ?
On lineage os 17.1 in-call volume is very low.
