I want to restart GPS signal thru Service Mode by doing following steps:
-> type *#0011#
service mode shows up
-> menu press Back
-> menu Key Input enter Q
-> menu Key Input enter 0000
wait
After performing fallowing steps I can see "quick flash screen" it's like want to show me Main Menu but it can't.
Is T-mobile blocking access to main menu? I read on S4 to overcome this new modem is needed.
I'm on COG2, Emotion kernel r21, Rapture 8.2 ROM

I'm on Doc's 6.2 JPY.
Just when I thought I had everything running perfectly, I go to use my GPS and find that I can only get a lock within 3100m (?!). When on stock JPY I had very quick GPS locks and very accurate. When I get this running, phone should be perfect... I hope I am wondering how this ROM could mess it up?
What kind of fixes are available for this?
Thanks in advance
Give this a try. I have had some sucess with it.

Hello Ian. After going into the dailer, I enter the sequence and the numbers disappear off the screen. What does it mean by send?
EDIT: I had to use *#*#3214789650#*#* to get into it. Thanks
Grab sgs tools from the market, go into the secret codes section and look for gps test and settings click that and follow his instructions above.

I search the forums and i read:

GalaxSim Unlock says "Device model not supported at this time"
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1715149
I'm rooted with Busybox and in EFS folder I don't have "nv_data.bin"
should I try on stock :
make sure no sim card inside the phone yet, if there is, just take it out
Dial *#197328640#
Main Menu > [1] UMTS > [1] Debug Screen > [8] Phone Control > [6] Network Lock > Options [3]Perso SHA256 OFF > (after choosing this option, wait about 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select Back, now you are in [6] Network Lock then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALLIZ ..... wait for a minute then reboot your phone...
there won't be any confirmation just reboot your phone, put your sim back in, wait for about 10-30 seconds for your phone to pick up the network and kabaaam it is unlocked, the timing is important btw
Baseband I8190XXALK6, 4.1.1
Please help!
unfortunately doesn;t work for me. Says NOT ACTIVE... and phone is still sim locked. Any workaround for this?

Because the OP didn't post too many details, most people couldn't perform all the operations through to the end...
Here goes:
Dial *#197328640#, it will take you to the service menu
Choose UMTS, or, if UMTS is missing, choose [1]Debug Screen directly
Choose [8] Phone Control
Choose [6] Network Lock
You will see "Not Active", you need to press the Settings/Options soft button (button on the left), and you will get a list of options
From the list choose the third [3] line, and enter the following text: SHA256 OFF
After 10-20 seconds you will see a returned value, I had 6
I saw most people stopped at step 5 above, before getting this far because they haven't pressed the left Options button to enable them to enter SHA256 OFF command.
Unfortunately, I couldn't figure where to enter the NW lock NV Data INITIALLIZ text... but maybe someone else can now pick it from here.
Click to collapse
and then:
I typed the "NW Local NV Data INITIALIZE" exactly the way I typed your "SHA256 OFF". After that, I waited a minute and rebooted phone.
So once again: do the SHA256 OFF and then instead of SHA256 OFF, type "NW Local NV Data INITIALIZE", wait a minute and reboot.
See linked post to thank people who worked this out.

Just curious if anyone knows if this (or similar) method to unlock carrier simlock will work?
Code:
Dial the following code on the phone keypad: *#197328640#
Main Menu > [1] UMTS >
[1] Debug Screen >
[8] Phone Control >
[6] Network Lock > Options
[3]Perso SHA256 OFF
After choosing this option, wait 30 seconds, then go back one step by pressing the Menu button then select back
Now you are in [6] Network Lock then choose [4] NW Lock NV Data INITIALIZE
You should see a message that says
SHA256_ENABLED_FLAG[0]
SHA256_OFF => Not Change
Also, is there any active development beyond ICS for this device? Since this is a sub group I'm assuming the roms in that other 8.9 thread won't work on the telus 8.9??
Thanks xda!
I should add that I don't currently have a charger to power on the device, so I'm trying to determine the level of effort I'll put in to bringing it back to life.
Cheers!
Yes you read it correctly, here is how to make your S5/S5 Duo's run on 4G LTE Only mode without root.
I'm not responsible for damage to your device! Do it at your own risk! Don't mess with the options.
Things to know, when on 4G Only mode you cannot send or receive calls. However you can send/receive text messages. Also NEVER replace your SIM or update your phones firmware without disabling this mode. If you forgot to disable it and changed your SIM you will get a "No Service" error, change your network to GSM Only. Restart your phone then everything should be fine, revert back to LTE/WCDMA/GSM and apply this mode again.
Text instructions :
1. Enter *#0011#
2. Menu (Top right button) -> Key Input -> Type "Q" and press "OK"
3. Again go to Key Input -> Type "0000" and press "OK" and WAIT 10 Seconds
4. If you get a "0" response. Restart from Step 1, then it will work.
5. If the system is OK you will see "Main Menu"
6. Select Option [2] UE SETTING & INFO
7. Then Option [1] SETTING
8. Then Option [1] PROTOCOL
9. Then Option [2] NAS
10. Then Option [1] NETWORK CONTROL
11. Then Option [4] BAND SELECTION - Note if you are Duo's then select SIM1 or SIM2
12. Then Option [4] LTE Band Preference - NOTE Set [8] Automatic to disable LTE Only mode.
13. Then Option [8] LTE ALL
Press Back and Exit! Viola! LTE Only mode is now active!
Will this work on 5.1.1
Not working in my Samsung Galaxy S5 6.0.1
Any suggestions??

Reboot Your Device Into Recovery Mode
There are multiple ways to reboot an Android device into recovery mode. But after the latest OneUI 3.0 update, Samsung does not allow booting into recovery without connecting your phone to a PC with a USB-C cable. Here's a solution to easily reboot to recovery.
The steps mentioned can be applied to boot into both the stock recovery as well as a custom recovery if you have one installed.
Reboot to recovery without root access and without connecting your phone to Laptop/Pc.
Download & Install LADB - Local ADB shell from playstore or download it directly from here.
Open Settings > About Phone and tap on the “Build number” field 7 times. This will enable “Developer Options.”
Go to Settings > System > Developer Options and enable “USB debugging” and “Wireless debugging.”
Open the LADB app. It will show a “Pairing information” dialog.
Open the recent apps screen. Press and hold on the app’s icon and tap “Split Screen” to open LADB in split-screen multitasking view.
On the bottom half, open Settings. Go to System > Developer Options > Wireless debugging. Tap on “Pair device with pairing code.” You’ll see a “Pair with device” dialog pop-up.
Copy the 6 digit “Wi-Fi pairing code” and paste it into the “pairing code” box in LADB. Copy the 5 digit port number from the IP address (the 5 numbers after the colon) and paste it into the “Port” box in LADB.
Hit “OKAY” in LADB and you should hopefully see text that says "Hello World”
Enter "reboot recovery"
And done now your phone will automatically reboot to recovery.
Note :
You can even try out different adb commands like deblooting system apps, allow permissions to apps like macdriod, system ui turner, etc and many more other adb commons without root and without a PC. (tested on Galaxy M30s)
Thanks to the developer of LADB

Power off, then hold volume up and bixby button till recovery comes up works for root, no-root, pc, or no-pc. It does not matter what version of OneUI.
