It is a bit on the short side in my opinion. Unfortunately I did not actually measure it yet. My estimate would be 1m.

Ugh... That is pretty annoying. Thanks.

Its about 2ft so its short

I measured it. It is 1 meter, which is at least a foot too short for me.
I've ordered a longer one from Amazon, and this one will end up on my desk at work.

1 meter

Yeah just at the point where it's too short. I figured 3 feet long but everyone is saying 1 meter which is pretty much the same. No idea why Google has to be so cheap. Now it's time to get micro usb adapters and a to c cables and car chargers and car mounts and powerful home/work chargers. Very frustrating.

Sonys DK25 charging dock for the Xperia V is available in January.

Just hada chat with support at Sony, they said the charging dock would be available early January. Looking forward to not fiddle with the port covers.

I ordered from Sony mobile site.
I just recieved it, 10 mins ago, and the disapointment is HUGE.
This is NOT a wireless charger. In fact the charging goes via the two metal surfaces on the side. I've been wondering what they are for, but I guess this is the answer. It's nice to be able to charge without opening the flap, but still, this isn't the solution I was picturing when I read "wireless charging".
To sum it up: I payed ~50 dollars (360 swedish kronor) for a plastic piece with two pins that charges my phone through the side instead of USB. I've could've made a charger that works just as good myself, damn it!

Well, ofcourse..... Did you expect anything else? Xperia v dosent support qi charging. How else would you transfer electricity to the phone if not for the two metal contact points?! Neither Sony or anyone else have stated qi standard om the v.

Xperia V DIY charging dock
does anybody has plans on making a DIY charging dock? since i bought a nillkin case for mine, my phone will not fit in the regular charging dock. i'm thinking of something that uses elastic bands to hold it while charging. needs to be pretty compact so you can still take it anywhere.
I bought a dock.
Have been using it for a couple of weeks now.
It seem to only charge if the dock is connected to the wall socket. I connected it to a PC for recharge when I first got it. It didn't start to charge. I thought I bought a lemon.
Where did you buy it?

Hi I wanna build my own cradle. Can you please measure the voltage of the pins. Are they 5V? Do you connect it with a simple USB Charger? Or is there a power supply?
I made my own one base on the Acro-S dock and Lego

EZO Power Dock (EZCR30)

Got this dock off of ebay (had a bit of money in paypal I want to use from selling my S2). Dock is decent, it doesn't have that great of a support for the device meaning it can still wobble a bit.
Another thing that has me worried is the 500mAh output stamped on the base. I know the Note 2 has higher output usb charger, haven't brought it home yet but will see if it affects.

Yeah, that's all. It will work. The OEM charger has several charging rates too, the lowest being 300mA. So this one will work the lower amperage just affects the speed of charging. There is a slight possibility of not charging the device while the device is in use with a lot of juice being pulled by the phone. But you'll probably be ok.

All in one mhl adapter

Since there are a lot of knockoffs on ebay I thought I would come in with a pleasant surprise. I bought http://item.mobileweb.ebay.ca/viewitem?itemId=130783773578this expecting the worst and was pleasantly surprised at how well it works on my Note2. The only thing is the usb cord is not very long and you have to have it plugged in so that the phone is charging for it to work, but for the price is awesome.
I ordered one just like that off of ebay as well and it works for me too. They all have to be plugged in to power to work.
Well I learned something today. This is my 2nd Samsung phone and first experience with mhl adapter and didnt know it HAD to be plugged in. Thanks.
Thanks for the link.. at $12 it's a cheap enough gamble.
Can you detail where the length is lacking? Easy enough to add an extension for length?

I would love to help you, but help yourself first: ask a better question

The HDMI part of the cable is 6 feet like advertised but the usb power part is less than half that length. I have a usb extension cable somewhere but can't find it to try it :banghead:

That's what's posted up a bit and mine wouldn't work without power source. Learning curve lol.
One thing I did notice is that even with it plugged in and "charging" after a couple hours on watching you tube the phone dropped from 80% to 72% battery so not really sure if it's charging or if it just takes that much power. I was using the wall charger that came with my phone so it should have been getting the 2 amps.
I think this mhl cord probably only allows 500ma. Something I use to counter that is this
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nkahoang.screenstandby
It allows you to turn off your screen, because even on the lowest brightness it still eats up the battery.
Good thread. There are a couple on amazon like this as well
For those of you who shop at monoprice, their 11 to 5 pin adaptor is back in stock and they even bundle it with an mhl adaptor.
I can't link to it as I just registered here, but it's under accessories>cell phones

Charger pins broken.

Basically I want some advice from people on here.
I've broken my charger, the one that comes in the box. The plastic strip out of the port on the side has snapped off. (I use a 3 metre USB cable in it due to weird plug placement in my room, so the weight may have played a part)
What I have got is a HTC B270 charger from my One S I still have and a TomTom charger that can replace it with.
What I want to know is simple... Is there any pros or cons to using them when I can buy a replacement for a fiver off Amazon?
I'm being serious before anyone shoots me down, I know certain chargers charge faster than others and such.

No problem, but slower charging time. 1.5 vs 1.0 Ah.

Usb charger cable length?

Silly question but didn't get the answer anywhere..
Could anybody tell me the "in-box" phone cable's length..?
I'd guess it is about 3-4 feet.

Well, think is enough so.
I'm coming from an Asus Zenfone 2 deluxe where cable was half a metre, what it actually did suck...
its rather short IMO.
Would be better if OP gave us like an extra 1 or 2 feet
Mine is 1 meter i think.
It's one meter (3 feet). They have one that's 150cm (5 feet) for sale in their store if you need a longer one. One thing to note about the 5 feet cable is that it's flat, and not round like the one included with the phone.
The way Dash charging works necessitates a short, thick cable. Dash uses a higher current (4A) while maintaining 5V. Because of the increased current you would have too much of a voltage drop with a thinner or longer cable.
You can get a standard charger and a 2m cable but you would have slower charging.
Its exactly 100cm or 1meter. They sell a 150cm on the website but I don't know if it performs just as fast. And that's still rather short. I prefer 6-10 ft cables. I bought some 6.6ft cables on amazon. They won't provide dash charge. But should still charge rather quickly. Maybe 90-120 mins. Which is still fast in most regards. Have the fast cable when you need it. And the long cable when just browsing and relaxing etc...

OP3T includes a 100cm USB cable. You can order extra cables in 100cm or 150cm length through the OP Store.
