Alright guys, so I've made a post about this before, some time ago about the crappy WiFi on Marshmallow, it's slower and loads things much slower and sometimes I have to do something 2 or 3 times for it to work! I asked Google about this issue and their solution was to downgrade back to Android 5.1.1. A dumb way to fix the issue, so I'm making this thread to see if any more cases of this are popping up and to see if anyone has found a definite way to fix this. I was told in another thread that flashing the radio file from Android 5.1.1 was safe to do, can anyone confirm if they have done this or if it's safe to do? Thanks guys!

Radio is safe to flash. I would try to reflash the Marsh radio and factory data reset. I had similar issue with mobile data and factory data rest + flash Marsh radio fixed it.

Awesome! I'll give that a try when I can! 3am and battery is 9% lol I'll give that a try maybe tomorrow! Thanks! Much appreciated!

Finally got around to doing this, it didn't seem to fix my non responsive WiFi. I wonder what it could be, my best guess would be that it's just a Marshmallow bug and I may have to wait for a 6.0.1 release or something of the like.

I have the same issue. It's quite annoying. If anyone has any other ideas please share.
Hey guys! An update here, I just read through another post that was about this same issue, and someone in there said that downloading DNset from the play store fixes this issue! It changes your WiFi settings from ipv4/ipv6 to just ipv4. I did it and it's working so far, but I'm going to give it some more testing and see if it fixed! Try it out!

Hey guys, happy new year first off. Now, my problem started right after new years where I receive a text message from a friend. Keeping in mind that i have a i896, i flashed to cognition 2.3b8 or w/e the newer version is called. I try to reply to my friend when all of a sudden it fails. So I try calling him instead, that failed as well. I tried texting and calling other people but that failed as well, yet my browser still continued to work. After an hour, no data can be found on my phone so now I am confused. I probably rebooted my phone 10 times by now. Anyhow, I reboot it and launcher pro settings are messed up, saying im not a pro member when i clearly paid for it as well as my phone not being able to receive any data from Rogers. Now, I randomly get a text from a friend, in which i cannot reply to once again. Is there anyway to fix this issue as it is quite random?
Sounds like a modem issue to me man. I would reflash and make sure you follow the instructions to the letter.
Also please post in the correct forum, this is not a development issue, it is Q&A.
What do you mean by the "letter." I will certainly reflash and repost in right section.

He means follow the instructions step by step and do exactly as they say even if you think you can skip a step or don't think it's necessary.

I checked and Gomdolight is for Korean version (f340 I think), are you sure you can?
(in the thread of Gomdolight, 1 guy was successfully installed, but he said nothing different, hhope he did not mean about wifi)
Could you report your try here?
Thanks in advance
Yes, I did as well and came to the same conclusion as the Dev did regarding the post stating no real changes noticeable. I plan to pm that member later on to see if he has any more feedback/advice before I commit. From what I gather the more modded features involve Korean based apps and such so for a D950 user not to notice is not surprise. I should know more tomorrow evening weather or not it is effective or not. Would do it sooner but I need to stay connected today so..... I'll keep you posted.
For me, the wifi strength is important. The rom itself does not matter.
Anyway, waiting for your post
==== edit =====
I had some time to check Gomdolight. Actually it is not a ROM, but a Modifier (remove system apps)
I don't think they change something for wifi-driver, which I believe is the problem for the weak wifi.
but just let me know how it is improved with your Gflex
thanks

Hey,my apologies to all who were waiting on the results of my attempted flash of the Gomdolite firmware mod. I'm sorry to report that although it installed successfully( albiet in a limited capacity due to variant and build discrepancies), it did not resolve my wifi woes.I will continue running Gomdolite despite that fact. Off topic and my apologies in advance, but it has improved my devices overall speed and fluidity. Hope someone has a solution soon...Btw, since my D950 doesn't have to function as my primary phone as of yesterday, (returned to Samsung, Note4) I am willing to Guinea pig for the common good of finding a resolution to our issues.Let me know if you got anything to test.
All of a sudden my gps does not work anymore. Anyone have this issue? Is there a fix ?

I had problems on 4.3 but haven't had any problems since I upgraded to kitkat. If you're still on 4.3 try flashing the fix in this thread
GPS toolbox apps might also help like GPS Status & Toolbox or GPS Fix...but I think those just speed up the GPS connection they don't really "fix" anything
Im on stock kit kat

This thread might be able to help...it's a little old but I think it covers everything that everyone has tried to fix GPS issues
Another possibility is it's a hardware problem which you might be able to fix yourself following instructions here
Past sending it in for repair I'm out of ideas maybe someone else can be more helpful here
I have heard the newest maps messed stuff up. Try uninstalling the update or find one apk and see if that fixes

nuclear option is reflash your ROM (factory reset for stock if you don't want to mess with Odin) and see if that fixes it...

If you got it through AT&T a warranty exchange should be pretty quick but your call! I don't think I'd last more than a couple of days without GPS
No I bought it out right
Waiting for the new note 4 to do a contract so get a discount on it
Hi folks,
hope someone can help, I have a Nexus 6, which is rooted and has been updated by flashing the system img to Android 6.0.1 build number MMB29K, the phone appears to be working well and no real problems. However under status in the settings the battery status shows charging despite being unplugged and the battery level is showing at 3,465% The phone charges fine and I haven't run it flat yet, but has anyone come across this problem before and know how to solve it, the only issue I have is not knowning how much charge is left in the phone in case of emergency. All help appreciated. I've tried resetting etc but no joy

No hassle, still can't find it on google but obviously not wording it right, will wait for Jan update and flash that to see if it fixes it.
Cheers
Anyone else receive this OTA this morning? I didn't see, or look for, a detailed change log before proceeding with the OTA push. Phone rebooted and is optimizing apps right now. I'll provide further details once it finishes.
I know, for sure, that I checked for new software within the past week or so and there was nothing available. I've been up to date with OTA upgrades since getting this phone on day one of its release.
Anyone know anything about this upgrade?

Probably just updating security mostly since we were a few months behind. Could also be preparing our phones to take take 6.0 update since there's usually a small update before a big one. Wouldn't hold my breath on it though

Yup
At least there was only a month delay between when this came out for the international version and us

Well we skipped a few months too so I'm not sure that counts
Don't try to apply this update if you've applied one of the leaked insecure boot images (for getting a root prompt). There's a check of the boot image built into the updater and if you attempt installation it will wipe your phone back to stock.
D**k move Samsung, d***k move.
I was a fool to initially think that the update juuuuuust might be Marshmallow. And then I thought, "I have AT&T. They would've made the announcement before just releasing the OTA. Hell, they would've made a big deal out of it, even; as if they're doing us a favor. " And so, I took a Valium and went to sleep.
This update seems to break mms for many of the users myself included verified with AT&T that is indeed related to it Samsung is on process of updating. Anyway if you happen to get it just boot your phone to safe mode and then use mms there and restart back to normal, it works after . And hopefully marshmallow will be soon

I'm still getting MMS texts, what was broken?
So far I've noticed my battery life is better than it was before, on the OJ7 update i had a very odd drain as well as issues with my bluetooth and wifi that were only fixed with a reboot......so far knock on wood they seem to be resolved but it should take a few more days to fully confirm. I did also try Enhanced LTE again and just as before I had a nice drain on my battery so they still don't have that working great yet (my area has weak LTE and switches between LTE and 4G on a normal basis).

Pictures, wasn't able to send or receive. Some problem with the default app. Plus it deleted all my old pictures from the texts thread.
