Amazon App Store

Hey guys! LOVING this phone!!! Just got one question. Has anyone had trouble getting the amazon App Store to work? I download it and it just goes to a black screen with amazon apps at the top? Anyone else have this?

go over here and try an older apk

also not working for me - it loads but just see the app store logo at the top and the dot dot dot at the bottom. Grrrr I'm loving this menu except the stupid ass dot dot dot - why did they get rid of the menu key - so stupid

This version I have confirmed works fine - thanks for the link, I need my swiftkey asap can't take the stock keyboard anymore
If someone could post when Amazon updates the app store so it doesn't nag you to update all the time that would be great. You can't disable it or your amazon installed apps quit working already tried.

I have the same problem. Downloaded mine from the Amazon website. I contacted them and the guy said he will put in a "ticket" for the problem since he was unable to figure it out or fix with all the usual tactics. Says he will get back to me on Tuesday. Until them, I plan to use that link and go download and instal an older version cause I really need my Swiftkey and a few other apps to be on my One ASAP!

I did the same thing. The amazon app keeps prompting for a critical update.. Will it work or have the same bug as the "current" that displayed a blank screen.

I finally found it in the Play Store and it works. Find and dl an app called Amazon Free App Notifier (something like that) sign up and you have to dl the App Store from there. Then you can uninstall the Notifier app.

I submitted a ticket yesterday, and Amazon replied it was a known issue and they were working on a fix. Also, apparently the new 1.29 patch released in Europe solves the problem as well.

I just updated and the new app store is like the one on my Kindle fire hd.

I can't get any of the various versions to work. I have a feeling that, in my case, it's related to the Viper 1.03 ROM I installed today. The Amazon appstore was working fine yesterday.... As of now, it almost seems like I'm only seeing the middle of the app - there's no way for me to get to the settings, e.g. to get to "my apps." Frankly, I wish I had the hard button back for menu. Anyway, I suppose it's worth the tradeoff to have the Viper ROM, but still....

Newest version of Amazon app store working fine for me on viper 1.03.
Did you try wolfpack kernel? It gives logo to menu button mod.

OMG, <facepalm> -- you made me realize that the problem is that I turned on the "press and hold for menu" back button behavior in viper, which then hides the menu icon. Duh! Well, the good news for me is that I hadn't noticed the whole logo2menu hack before, so I installed wolfpack anyway. Thanks!

Anyone else getting this? I can't even update instagram.

Phew. Glad I'm not the only one. Hope google fixes up their servers or something soon.

I am having this error with all my apps. First MX player, then Chrome beta, now instagram. I originally thought it was just my phone so I wiped cache and data, still wouldn't work. Then I look at reviews and it seems wide spread throughout the play store. It isn't just for the new store version BTW since it was happening to me on 4.1.10 (now I'm on 4.3.10)

I was able to download and update apps

The issue seems to be DNS related (I looked over at the Nexus 4 forum) what your ISP? Mine is Comcast. I switched to LTE and instagram updated just fine.

Just rebooted the phone and the app automatically started downloading itself. Weird.
But yeah, it's solved for me.

Snapchat Micro

So I've seen many "announced" apps for the Gear however on my Gear paired with my GS3 I've yet to see many of these programs. In specific the Snapchat Micro application which one of my colleagues has on her Gear paired with the Note 3. So my question is, are some apps locked to the Note 3 enabled Gears or is there something wrong with my device. Secondly, if someone else has the apk for Snapchat Micro could you please post the program. It may be helpful to have a repository of links for Gear applications on here for those in my situation with limited Samsung App access. Thanks.

I've connected the Gear with Galaxy Note 3, then I ported all gear application including the watch faces as the attached txt file.

I have the note 3 and the app on my phone has to be opened as well. Not every time. As long as it's running in the background the gear app will work. It's the way it was made for some stupid reason.

I have no issues using the Snapchat gear app . I am able to take pictures and send to friends without having to open the original snapchat app on my phone.
Never changed any settings to have this work for me. Good luck!

The apk for snapchat micro is not in the n700 folder under apps ( in the link of your sig), is it somewhere else? If it is no longer in the folder would you (or anybody else that has it ) mind reposting it or Pm-info me the link. Thanks

I know it works for the S4.

Please try the combination I shared, it's worked great with my HTC One X and now after a few days of trying out TouchWiz I am most surely switching to Google Launcher or my previous set up.

It wont be available on the play store because the Google Now Launcher only shows up on Nexus and GPE devices on the play store, you will have to DL the apk from another site and side load it.

Are u sure the one you have installed is the one Google makes? I went to the store and downloaded an app that I was certain it was Google Launcher Now. Then I realized it wasn't.

You have to install it outside play store. I have it working on my phone. I still prefer nova though
Just Google and you'll find the apk for the Google experience laucher

Anybody have a working Redbox app for the nexus 6? It is not compatible in the play store thanks
