As the title suggests, I am trying to get from XDABBEB's 3.1.2 to the 5.1.1 Resurrection Remix 5.5.6. Both should be on 39A so I went ahead and dirty flashed. During the flash, I keep getting "error executing updater binary in zip." I have been reading all over the place to figure out what's wrong but cannot figure it out. Can anyone help?

I have looked through a plethora of forum posts and none of them seem to fix my problem so please forgive me if maybe I missed a post. I have a Sprint HTC One and I was running Viper One 3.5 (Android 4.3 w/ Sense 5.5) and I wanted to upgrade to 4.4 Kit Kat. I've found a couple ROMs that I liked and flashed no problem. They all had their issues that I couldn't live with so I looked for a more credible developer. I found a kit kat ROM from AOPK and ive been trying to flash it but I constantly keep getting errors. I am running TWRP 2.6.3.0. Here is what the errors look like:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
ROM Error:
"symlink: some symlinks failed"
"E: Error executing updater binary in zip /sdcard/...
"Error flashing zip"
GAPPS:
"file_getprop: failed to stat "/system/build.prop..."
"E: Error executing updater binary in zip"
"Error flashing zip"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
All of these errors are logged from one screen at one time. In other words, they aren't different errors i've been getting, they are from the same flash. This is just a brief description of the logged errors. I left out the sd card directories, etc. The reason I include the Gapps error is because on time when I flashed the ROM, it said successful but no log of anything happening so I went on to flashing Gapps and got the error above. If anyone can help that would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you so much for your help and time. :good: Sorry for the long post, just trying to describe the entire problem so we can get a better/more precise solution. THANKS!
I have the LG G2 on Verizon, running JackpotClavin's CM11 based on 4.4.2 OTA and TWRP 2.7.0.0. I need to encrypt my phone to access work email (Exchange security policy), but when I try it's stuck at 0%.
Any suggestions? I searched as well as I could but couldn't find much discussion on device encryption, much less a solution to this issue.
Some background:
Up until yesterday, I was on the "official" CM11 version (based on 4.2). Encryption worked fine with these builds and TWRP 2.7.
To get onto JackpotClavin's build, I used the KDZ method to go back to stock 12b, and these instructions to handle the bootstack, recovery, and ROM installation
I was unable to unencrypt my phone before flashing back to stock 12B, but I don't think that matters

I'd post your question in that rom thread.

That's the first place I tried, but I don't have enough posts yet to be able to ask in dev.
I'm on VS980 on 39a, rooted, and TWRP 2.8.5.1 installed with with the Freedom 39a tool. TWRP seems to be working fine, I can do backups, but I can't install any ROMS. I keep getting an assert failed loki.sh error message. Thanks for anyone's help!
Depending on the rom that you install, you need to install a specific "bootstack" to work (ie, xdadeb 2.3.0 requires 26a bootstack). Did you make sure you are in the right bootstack?
What ROM are you trying to install? CM requires 12B and a lot of the CM based roms are the same. Other roms use 26a and a few others.
I am on BOC5 Lollipop 5.0 and I can't install the the 5.11 OTA that was posted in another thread, it starts but after checking the contents fails with an error something like error 7 on package. I wondered if it was because you cant go from my 5.0 OC5 straight to the new 5.11 build? Do in need to flash the updates between OC5 and the new 5.11? If so can anyone send me a link? I've tried searching, only 4.4 on Samfirmware and can only find the 5.0 OC5 1.4GB download and the 600MB 5.11 download on XDA.
From searching it looks like I need BOF2 and BOF3 before I can install the latest 5.11. Can anyone post links to these please?
Forget it, I did it (admittedly more time consuming) by following this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...-to-update-to-g870aactive-modeloj3-5-t3247843 So downgraded to 4.4, rooted, installed flashfire and flashed the 5.1 .zip in that post.

you try this? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=63797486 by recovery?
Does anyone have the CM 12.1 Backup as I am not able to download it from the Download section of the cyanogen Mod site (It shows an Internal Server Error) ?
CM is dead as their site, now they reborn as Lineage OS.
If you really need lollipop CM you need to find the someone who downloaded before shut down, I remember I read someone on reddit do it at the time (end December)
