Been following their product on kickstarter, anyone planing to buy one of these? Having reversible charger like type-c is good IMO but don't know if it effects fast charging ability of note 5
Got a link?

Also you can Google znaps for their kickstarter website. Right now they are getting pre orders
That looks really cool actually

That is something that should have been invented years ago... They need to have a bulk purchase, I'd need a dozen sets.
Definitely yes, now they have way more money to launch the program so its definitely coming out. I always been jealous of Apple's lightning cable, now we have one ?
That is so awesome, I ordered a couple microsd kits. Keeps crud out of your microsd port, and easily snaps and charges like macbooks. What a great idea!
I was a backer and now waiting! Order a type - c, lightning for iPad and of course micro USB.
Tapatalked with my Note 5
I am also backer and waiting for the release now. Ordered 3 different sets: Micro USB, USB type c and lightening. They specifically mentioned that it should not affect the speed of fast charging, so I really look forward to it. I also think it may be a good idea to make a stand out of cable so to place the phone on a stand to have it charged...
I saved the campaign site for later but forgot that I save. Now I have to pay more to get it that sucks :/
I am a backer of this as well. Looking forward to getting the product. I ordered several.

I believe you can find a lot of these on Amazon now too. I don't think I have seen one as thin as the znap ones though
I've seen it before but it's too big compared to znaps and I am using case on my note 5 so don't think it will fit on. Maybe in future I'll remove the case until I adapt the phone's size. I always used 4.3" or 5" and the naked note 5 is also too damn slippery I don't want to break it.

Ive seen posts about the usb cords/dongles that you can use to connect any usb device to ur tablet,
if any case manufactures are listening, maybe you can make a semi hard case that has this functionality built it. kinda like the battery cases you see for iphone, but without the crappy large battery
while retaining charging capabilities....
1. with usb connection built into the case, to plug in a thumb drive, or any other device.
2. with built in 32gb or 64 gb into the case, and with charging capability's.
3. with built in rear facing camera
many people would buy any of these, or possibly one with all of the above
i dont have the motivation or knowledge to get something like this rolling, but im sure it would be a hit with the nexus 7 crowds because we have limited storage.
just saying, i would like to know what other people think...
and if any manufactures to decide to use my idea, please send me a demo to review since used my idea
From a modding perspective I can already think of several ways for this to be achieved pretty easily (minus the camera, I don't really know those too well). If you're comfortable with a soldering iron and have a bunch of time on your hands, most of these things can be achieved pretty cheaply.
Would love to see/build/buy this.
(brainstorm activated)
No company will make these because people are already crying about a 40$ tag price for a quality case. All they want is to pay 5$... With these features the price is gonna be too high for alot of people.

I wonder if you could use the pogo connectors to get USB OTG to work for more storage?
I thought about this Saturday morning minus the camera. I might have to build a prototype and put it on kick starter. I wish that I had a partner, I have a few ideas how to build it. I guess I need moral support lol.

Why a rear camera? nothing looks lamer than someone taking a picture with a bulky tablet. thats what your phone is for.

A case with these capabilities is much different than a flap of material made in china.
add in extra battery haha. The Nexus Galaxy has the Hyperion case. If you made something similar for the nexus 7 and attach a micro USB to it. I would buy it. I dont need the extra battery power, but why waste extra space.
http://www.amazon.com/Hyperion-Rech...UTF8&colid=YT73S9A1ZS7X&coliid=I37XIVYNH3HLTI
Cont'd
I'd like a "case" with these features in the following order
1. OTG USB Hub
2. Stand of some sort
3. Full Size SD Card Slot
4. Extra battery
5. Decent Speakers (extra bass when in standing position)
6. 3G/4G module (like the IPOD to IPhone case, or perhaps a MiFi, or optional USB stick)
7. Built in battery charger
8. Keyboard
9. Camera
10. Solar Cell for charging
Cost = more expensive than the tablet but I'd still buy it
That is called a netbook! Hehehe! Peace!
I bought this tablet so that I didn't have all the bells and whistles and found I've used it so much more than the TF101 I have now sold. If I wanted all of those features in a case, I would have stuck with my original tablet .
Maybe I'm alone on this one... but I love that less is more and a case like that seems far too niche/defeats the purpose of the Nexus 7.

Which parts did you use to make this? I am unsure on what case would be suitable as well as the OTG cable. I would think you would want one as thin as possible as well as a USB type hub to allow charging

I agree with you, but a rear camera would be nice for adding pictures to notes during a seminar, lecture or presentation.
FWIW, my grandma prefers her iPad for pictures because she can see the people and frame the picture better than a 3" screen on a point and shoot.
Back to the topic, I'd be in for an Otterbox type with the camera, SD card (can always convert micro to normal), and extra battery to drive the accessories would be a great kickstarter project. Leather would be a great bonus. The challenge would keeping the entire package small.
Would be an interesting project on a 3D printer.
This is something I was thinking about this i ot my tab. Except for the rear cam, this is for myself. Cause I am so piss off of those micro USB that so fragile. Broke already 2 OTG cables and one charger cable (don't had the cables I broke for my phone). After have to be realistic, battery expansion and rear cam would be too big and also expensive. For a 7" tab that only cost $250.
Also have to think about the jack plug that is not so far from the USB. Problem is that with all of it no manufacturer would produce it, not enough margin even if people could buy it about $50/60 non-leather case. But still hope to can find something like that one day ^^. Only way I see it to become real would be to regroup a certain amount of people (a thousand at least), having someone able to design it, then issue a call for tender. sweet dream ^^
It claims to be case comparable by removing an insert
And at $32 bucks it's not a bad buy but it would be nice to find it cheeper. Anyway I was wondering if anyone had one and if it's any good?

it reminds me of those generic ipod docks, with the insert it fits snug but when you remove the insert depending on how thick your case is it wobbles
i'd recommend save your money and wait for the official dock that uses the pogo pins

I just ordered one. It should arrive in two days. In general I find Mobile Fun quite trustworthy. They seem to test all the stuff they resell so that they know its decent quality.
I'll let you know how the cradle works.
I have one on order from 4u-mobi that shipped Monday. I'll let you know when I get it. I already started a thread about this as well, called Kidigi dock for Nexus 7.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849616&highlight=kidigi
Ok it arrived and my N7 is in it.
As Testaccount says above, it fits very well with the insert in place and no case. Without the insert it's a little loose, probably because with my case is just a gel back cover. Putting a couple of sheets of paper in behind the Nexus shows that the dock would be a good tight fit if the case was about 1 mm thicker so if you are thinking of a slightly bigger case, one of the wrap around maybe, the dock should work well.
Even without the paper it isn't so loose that it will fall out or anything. I just spent a hour prodding the screen to turn pages in Kindle and it showed no sign of falling. All in all I'm pretty happy with it. I don't see how they could have made it substantially better without mandating what case you can use with it.

Any word on when it would be available?
I placed my order two days ago and received an email indicating backorder status. I ordered mine to be shipped next day air so hopefully I will have it soon. I can't handle not having a car dock.
I totally agree its very expensive. But I know it will work as advertised unlike other docks ive had nightmares with (1 broken screen, 2 phones had usb ports broken. 1 cracked windscreen when I tryed to remove a sucker when it was about minus 5).
Ive also selected next day. From experiace with the hox it was here within a few days when on back order. I will kepp you posted.

I loved my ProClip mount for my Garmin iQue, it's a quality piece. My only decision is where do I want to mount it? I've got a Toyota Camry, I'm leaning towards the angled mount, but that console with tilt looks good, too.

I too have had excellent service from Brodit, no problems there. I currently still using Brodit Note 1 holder. The micro USB is still in the same position if not a big awkward to locate straight away. Because the Note 2 is slightly narrower than its predecesor it does rattle round in the holder a little bit but is perfectly usable.

I'm not sure what the best way to enable it is, but I just use CarHome (I think that's what it's called). When I plug it into the car, I just launch the app which takes literally zero seconds. There may be better options though.
This is my first ProClips purchase and I've got to say, it's an out-freaking-standing mount. Very solid and the range of motion is great. Worth absolutely every penny as long as it doesn't become loose in tolerances or anything. As long as it endures like it should, I'm glad I purchased this. I ordered mine on the 5th and got the backorder notification as expected. Shipped on the 8th, arrived on the 9th, and was at home as I returned from picking up the phone. Great timing.

Nope and that sucks a bit, but usually the components that make a mount adjustable are ones that can detract from the stability of the setup, so I'll take it. If you've got a difficult case to remove like a Defender, it's going to be a bit more of a hassle.... I am just buying a Body Glove case for very basic protection, and should be easy enough to remove/replace when needed.
But yeah the fact that it won't accommodate a case will be a deal breaker for many I think.

It's small, feels like a decent quality piece. It's glossy black with rubber feet on the bottom so it doesn't slide around. It keeps the Note 2 supported nicely when it's dropped in. It's got a floppy rubbery insert that you can take out if you have a case.
One con is that a few times when I've yanked my phone out, the rubber piece has either partially or completely come out. My advice would be to decide on a case of not and, if you leave the rubber insert in, put a drop of hot glue or something to keep the insert in place.

Yes, it works with a slim case for me without even taking the rubber insert out. When you take the rubber insert out, there's a good 0.5-0.75cm around it, particularly the edges. A case with a big beefy back probably would not fit.

Sheesh guys. Think a little more outside your own world.
I have this dock connected to my computer at work. I walk in from a meeting, drop the phone in the charger (instead of setting it down, picking up the cable, jamming it in, etc) and it's immediately mounted as a drive on my computer and is charging anytime I'm at my desk. Need to run to a meeting? You just pick it up...no fussing with cables.
Nope, no spare battery. Surprise, most people don't need one. I spend half my day working at my desk, meaning my phone is charging half the day. In fact, I don't even feel like I ever "charge". It's just sitting in its stand. I never need to plug it in at home.
Nope, no USB or HDMI. Surprise, 99% of the people that use this phone care about that, so why pay for a $100 for a dock with it (that's the wrong color, BTW).
20 bucks? Wow, they saw you coming a mile off.

You can just plug the phone into the dock without having to pick up the charge cable and plug it into the phone. Same for removing it from the dock. Since we have to charge the phone everyday, I would say the dock has a value.
got this cheapo magnet cable from aliexpress (will find the link later) ordered it weeks ago.
seems to charge at 8.8V @ 1.6A so its not bad for us$4 shipped.
makes it difficult to use a standard cable now. although there are better designed ones for $12 which are thinner and don't stick out as much.

anyway $10 for the thinner better ones isnt too bad, here's the search link:

if this cheap one can carry the current then im sure the brand name ones can too.
i have sent msg to seller about why his not selling anymore, when i bought them i could select 10+ units, but it was actually more costly, so i bought one by one
the magnet is actually too strong as my tablet usb port is a little larger so the connector comes out with the cable, a little glue will fix it though.
where as the s7 edge port is tight, needs dental floss to pull out
overall very convenient for sure.
@h3ck $10 to much for ya?
heres another $4 one, looks thinner too... http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Magn...Charger-Charging-Cable-White/32624008438.html

This is the same one I'm using, small plug, cable is very soft, good for holding your phone while charging, so the cable won't snap off easily.
Btw i tried with QC2.0 charger can get 9v 1.5-1.6a

Are these connections such that direction doesn't matter? In other words, can you rotate the cable 180 degrees and it still connects and charges properly?
@meyerweb yes kinda like reversible usb-c but with needing to plug in, doesnt matter what angle, it will snap in the correctly - the whole point is the total ease of use.

@meyerweb yes kinda like reversible usb-c but with needing to plug in, doesnt matter what angle, it will snap in the correctly - the whole point is the total ease of use.

Cool. Thank you. At home I generally just plop the phone down on a wireless puck, but this would be great for the car.
I saw this on ebay and bought it.

Got it and it's complete crap. The portion that goes into your device will not stay in the device. So the magnet is strong enough to pull it right out. Spent $4 on it and I don't think it's even worth that. I contacted the seller, we'll see what happens. Buyer beware!
I just ordered this one for $3.98. I hope the quality doesn't suck.
The other ones looked like they are too wide at 17mm width to be used inside a case.
SWEETLF one on Amazon is about the best you'll find. I've been using it for months now.
