[LT30p][PATCH] For JB-Alpha (FW: 9.1.A.0.420) {No Longer Needed as Final FW is OUT!}

I am locking this thread... it might be useful for future reference... oh the kernel with recovery might still be useful on JB

Patches for JB-Alpha
so guys here are a few patches to get things working on this build... unfortunately i am not at my dev machine and have a pathetically slow internet connection... so cant upload the whole package...
few things that you should download before u begin...
any kernel with recovery... u can use the FXP202 CM10 kernel: http://d-h.st/9Pr
(thanks to FreeXperia Team for their work on the kernel)
Google Apps - http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
PATCH-v1 zip to get root, sound, BT, baseband,to work, correct fingerprint to work on Google Play : http://d-h.st/rNe
(this contains the stock JB-alpha kernel along with some fixes and will wipe /data and /cache partitions)
[you might need to install busybox from market]
PATCH-v2 zip lots of Sony Apps from the JB leak which work on this build : http://d-h.st/eBG
(this contains the stock JB-alpha kernel along with many Sony Apps)
Advanced Stock Kernel with Recovery! : http://d-h.st/HF8
(this contains a fresh kernel compiled from sources using a hack to get corrected display... huge thanks to Sony for providing kernel sources!!!!)
[recovery ramdisk is used as is from FXP202-CM10, huge thanks to FreeXperia team for their continuing support for Xperia devices!]
[ramdisk is insecure with usb debugging enabled]
{NOTE: those trying to get wifi working on this freshly compiled kernel may run into issues as wifi module is not provided. i will get to work on that as and when i get time. you can use the ACTUAL stock kernel to test out hacks to get wifi working}

Step-by-Step:
--------------------
download the zips and put them on sdcard
flash (via fastboot) any kernel (with recovery) and boot into recovery
flash GApps
flash the PATCH-v1 zip
flash the PATCH-v2 zip
reboot from recovery
enter flash mode and flash the Advanced Stock Kernel (LT30p-JB_Alpha-DooMLoRD-AdvStk-1.elf)
reboot from fastboot mode and the device will boot into OS
How to enter recovery:
---------------------------------
This is standard CWM 6.0.2.7 recovery.
When device is booting at SONY logo you will feel a short vibration and LED will glow "pink"/"amber" immediately keep tapping the VOLUME UP key
you should now enter recovery

i am working on integrating recovery into the stock JB-alpha kernel but as i am away from my dev machine its taking longer than expected

For me Wifi not working after Patch ZIP flash. This is very interesting: In ZIP has bootanimation.zip but on booting has a original ANDROID logo bootanimation. ?? When starting the rom comes a NFC firmware update text, what is this?

Wifi is flaky.. was working the first time.. but later has issues...
BT works...
and yes i am still not sure why some of the files in the update.zip are not flashing correctly...

this isn't a rom, and a stock sony rom can't be compiled from source, only the kernel

wow, lets get the rom working before we start trying to mod it like that. I am sure the devs/themers have bigger fish to fry than that.,

it contains most of the Sony apps... i have integrated the apps from the JB leak and they work fairly well with this alpha version...

i hope that now this JB-Alpha ROM is much more functional than before

For album and camera you will Need to backup your sd card, then format it.

Thanks for the great work. Everything seems to work except Bluetooth. The device switches on Bluetooth but does not discover any nearby devices. This problem also occurs in Safe Mode. Can you think of a reason why this might be?
Also, a minor issue: the device's model number is given as C6603....

- In normal mode, bluetooth connected with another devices. I think in safe mode not working for security
- If you dont like your device name is C6603, rename it to C5503:
open build.prop in system/ and edit all string "C66" by "C55" and "Xperia Z" by " Xperia ZR"

BT issues
I performed a factory reset and the very first thing I tried after that is bluetooth. No luck - still not working. It switches on, scans for devices but doesn't find any.
Before I decided on the factory reset, it detected my laptop for a few seconds when I rebooted the laptop, but then lost it again. It never detected my bluetooth headsets. Googling around, it seems that 5.1.1 is causing BT trouble on various devices. Also, by the way, Safe Mode does not disable BT. Trying in safe mode is a regular trouble shooting procedure for BT issues.
I don't care about the device name, just thought I should mention it.
A bigger problem is the absence of the Xperia diagnostic tool that usually is accessible from Settings/About Phone. It's not there. I downloaded the "light" version from the Playstore but this crashes every time I start it up.

Whoah, wait a moment! I just switched one of my headsets to pairing mode, then switched the BT on the phone off and on and off and on like crazy, then waited (with BT on) and suddenly it detected the headset and paired. Weird. ADDITIONAL COMMENT NEXT DAY: no further BT issues. I have been able to pair another headset and a bunch of Trackr Bravo trackers. So I can confirm that all major functions on this phone work and the ROM is very nice indeed.
I'll report further if I find out anything else.

uncomment and Rajeev, thanks very much for making this available for the ZR. This is so nice. I came from a 4.2.2 on a DoCoMo branded Xperia A. The improvements in 5.1.1 are enormous. This phone's life expectancy just increased by at least a year.

THIS IS NOT FOR DAILY USE!!! IM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGE TO YOUR DEVICE!!!

I flashed the kernel via flashtool and I can't get into recovery (I tried pressing all of the phone's buttons [in all combinations and each separetly]), I tried flashing the stock i.c.s. and I still can't get the phone to boot into recovery. Do we have to flash the rom from an already existing recovery?

well i used my existing neorecovery... or simply adb reboot recovery... well thats another bug ( i did not noticed yet) you cant enter recovery with keycombo.... flash neokernel and flash with this recovery
EDIT: this bug i have no focus on.... i will soon implement the new sony init and then this will be fixed... but that is at a later point of my list

Testing the 2nd alpha build
I put a good 6-7 (give or take) hours on my phone running the 2nd alpha build. It's very fast, butter-smooth and really stable for what it is. I've encountered (almost) no weird stuff whatsoever while using the phone. Here's a complete list of the things I tested (what's working and what's not). Note that I used the phone like I would normally do (absolutely realistic to everyday usage - lots of video streaming and some browsing):
Working: Wi-fi
Mobile data (I get hspa+ with no problem at my area)
Vibration [for your private times ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) ]
Notification led
Video playback (locally stored) (tested at 1024*600, 720p and 1080p - all videos were played smoothly)
Music playback
Sound (both the speaker and the hearing aid)
Phone calls
Messaging
Video streaming (youtube and kissanime were tested - all from the stock browser)
Internal storage (it shows as "damaged" at first boot - fix is provided by SdtBarbarossa)
Not working:
Camera (only accessible via the lockscreen - when launched you'll always get a "unable to connect to the camera" message)
Auto screen rotration (for the time being you can use an app called "set orientation" to force landscape orientation. Used it on my xperia t and it works just fine)
Access to recovery (no button combination is working - you need to have the phone connected to pc and use a.d.b. to reboot to recovery - other than that it works perfectly)
Bluetooth
N.f.c. (it does turn on but I can't test it without the bluetooth working - question mark on this one)
Proximity sensors
Other than that, the only times I found the rom to be a bit choppy is heavy scrolling (scrolling like a retard in a heavy page [e.g. facebook]) and video streaming when not in full screen. Also, some quick toggles are only visible when arranging the whole thing (e.g. torch, invert colors), but they cannot be used since they're hidden. Also, a section in the sound settings (it has to do something with vibration) causes the settings app to force close every time it's being opened. Despite this, I think the rom can be used as a daily driver if the camera is not a concern.
If there's anything you want me to test out, mention/quote me in this thread (or p.m. me, I'd prefer the first one though) and I'll test it out for you.

1. Camera seems to be harder to fix then i thougt... this may take some time
2. i will test that in todays build ... i did not noticed that yet (not using it)
3. with newest build acess to recovery is fixed and optimized

Xperia V camera bugs

Hi folks.
Since I rooted my Xperia V I have camera and media folder bugs. Something like all media sector is in trouble.
I flashed several roms such as Cyanogen (11.x and 12) and Pac Android, without fixing the problem:
- when camera is opens there are some reflections on display
- pictures and video can not be saved
- in whatsapp i can’t send or receive media files
- i can not access to any media archive folder
Any suggestions?

So. For the camera: disable NFC. It should work( atleast it worka on stock)
If you flashed CM12 you need to change partition permissions. Go to CM12.1 thread by WhiteNeo and find the code in FAQ.

Thanks krasimiretov. I've already tried disabling NFC without solving, but... is enough just turn off NFC or do you mean something "deeper", i.e. deleting NFC function at all (I don't know how...)?

I think there is no need for developing this patch on Nougat because of the XUN: https://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/development/rom-los-xperia-ui-z2-t3654887/page60

You can find stock ota center where carbon delta is located but at first, u must delete Carbon Delta in /system/priv-app to access the stock Sony one. Closed apps are normal for first release, you can block it by keeping all crashed apps disable.

The camera source of cyberian doesn't take pictures accurately at night so the values in the cyberian must be recalibrated, but you can use Cyberian Nougat module that attached in the main thread of Cyberian Camera
