[App Idea]Google Voice users - would like input

Hey guys,
I'm just posing my idea for an app that I've been working on and just want input to see if any of you would consider this useful or not.
Google Voice for Windows Phone doesn't exist yet...there are 2 apps out there that give a "native" feel...one requires to save your GV login info () and the other sets up email forwarding through some service for notifications...that only works half the time.
I've been working on an app that is currently just a web-window to Google Voice...but in order for notifications to work, you would download a Java application to run on your home computer (or wherever) that has your GV info and is constantly checking for new messages. The kicker to this is that this client app would have to be running all the time for you to receive new messages...make sense?
Is this a dumb idea? Would any of you actually use this? The reason I'm going this route is because your GV login info would stay on YOUR computer...not someone else's.
Granted...I could make it completely native...but then I would have to store your login info on my server...which I'm trying to avoid.
Thank you all in advance for your opinions.
Isn't MetroTalk a Google Voice client?

As is GoVoice, Free Talk, and a number of others... all of which are pretty decent clients. I could see a need for a native client though, one that can intercept outgoing calls, use the native SMS built-in app, just cuz it would make it easier to use, but any of those clients work well.

Best Android Call Forwarding App?

Hi XDA Community,
Wondering if anyone knows of an app that Has Call Forwarding capabilities so I can setup a number for my Business?
For instance, I would like 1300 328 940 for example and when clients call that number it gets redirected to my mobile phone.
Is there an app which needs phone to be rooted that unlocks all the goodies or anything you could recommend to me?
Thank you,
Chad.
This is not something you would do from your phone ,you would do it with the number provider.
I suggest google voice or ooma

whatsapp call spy

Hi,
i am looking to build a spy app which can record whatsapp , viber and skype calls and send the recording to an email address or store in the phone in a hidden folder.
please guide if someone can build such application for me , i am willing to pay for this project.
Apps like that are illegal in many countries and as such banned here. You won't find any help on that.

Question What do you recommend as a new texting app?

Hello all,
I have been a devoted user of Handcent for more years than I can recall back - decades. However, they have not responded to my support requests, their Play Store page is gone, and their website links to the Play Store page that is gone.
Recently I was driven to seek advice on what the community is using after Google Play Protect flagged Handcent (Next SMS) as "fake," which I know not to be true, but support is a huge factor for me in what I use.
So, let's hear it, what are all of you using and what do you recommend / not recommend?
Thanks for consideration!
I'd recommend Signal. It combines SMS and WhatsApp functionality into one app. That is just my personal choice, but there are a lot of other apps out there
I remember ditching Handcent for Textra almost a decade ago. If you like the features, check out SMS Messenger (orange icon) and QKSMS. Otherwise, +1 for Signal.
google messages, especially if you also want to have a window on your computer open to send messages
I'm trying to move all my conversations to google messages just because of the RCS feature. As the other member mentioned, you can also continue conversations on the computer
Another vote for Signal here, love it. They also have a desktop app but of course the desktop app will not include SMS/non-Signal inbound/outbound text. If you would like to have full control of text threads on the computer, you can look into the Windows 10 "phone link" feature.
Eternally grateful we're on a platform where we can actually remove the native text app and use whatever we want.
