Ok this may be a dumb question but I have been searching for the answer and can not find it any where. I want to unlock and have the screen come on( comeout of standby) by sliding the keyboard out.
Like when you flip out the screen on the side kick.
I have the 2.17 custom rom by xelencin if that helps.
Thanks
I really want that feature too!
To add a same thing to your question, can i unlock the machine with one hand?
I have smartkey installed but everytime i try to unlock the screen, it said I have to press Unlock, and there is no way to press it with a softbutton, i have to either do it with a stylus or the keyboard....

and leave fingerprint smurk on the screen you mean?
The only problem I could see with sliding to turn on / unlock etc is that the magnetic catch on the standard case would then activate the switch on etc... I'm sure it would be possible to intercept this trigger in some way even when the OS is in standby but I can see issues with the device turning on when used with the standard case...
The screen doesn't rotate when you open the keyboard until aftr the device is turned on, which suggests to me that the position of he keyboard isn't monitored by the device when it's switched off. If this is the case ten it would be impossiblt to have the keyboard switch turn the device on.
Correct me if I'm wrong.
Yep, pretty sure sliding the keyboard out does not create a wakeup event. It is possible that something like MortSaver could be used to mimic this function - that's a program that turns off the screen and locks the buttons when you press a hotkey - i.e. it doesn't put the device into standby, it just kinda puts it into low power mode. I'm pretty sure that could be rewritten to turn the screen back on when the keyboard slides out. Perhaps if you plead with the author...
Ok the screen turns on in my pocket because the sliding keyboard is so sensative, if i just so SLIGHTLY slide it, the screen will turn on and make that sliding beeping sound in my pocket.. how can i fix this?? my old 6700 used to have to be all the way slid out in order for the screen to rotate..
or is there a way to keep the device off even if i slide keyboard out until i press the on button on the side??
Please help, this wastes my battery too.
kaiser tweak. disable sleep on sliding keyboard selection.

My htc diamond has a problem that, sometimes the device will be turned on accidently, causing accendential phone calls, which is very annoying.
By then, I realised the problem was caused by the stylus control (which turn the device on when stylus is pulled out), that the problem never occur without the stylus. So, is there any way to disable the stylus sensor control that turn on the device?
When you remove the battery cover and the stylus there is a little black switch on the side.
Edit: Ahh well it aint a switch but it is the sensor for the stylus. Break it and you'll be fine
use a Password so you can't do anything when it is turned on

is there any software to deal with, apart from breaking the physical component?
I had same problem before!
just use a plastic tape to cover the sensor is OK!
you will say bye to this problem
I was just looking for this and can't find it :/
I'm using the cdma diamond
I have the same problem - my Diamond sometimes wakes up in my pocket because of the stylus sensor . I've been looking for software solution, but nothing found... Is there a registry key that can turn the stylus sensor off? Or maybe a small program that does this...? Please, need your help...

Use TouchLockPro and dissable the Stylus sensor in the program. When it wakes up in your pocket, it will lock your phone and go to sleep again after 30 seconds.
Any other way? TLP is too much for me, I look for something only for stylus sensor (I don't need to set light sensor, g-sensor, etc.). Otherwise I would like to completely turn it off (Diamond wouldn't wake up when the stylus is out). And of course I don't want to break it...

A piece of paper or tape over the stylus sensor/notch will also do.....you do not have to break it, as described in post #5.

I have the same problem with stylus sensor. I used a small piece of cellotape over the black part of stylus. This helped to avoid self unlocking. Hope there is also possibility to disable stylus sensor in the registry…

Anyone have this issue ? My s-pen can open apps and type characters on the keyboard even when not touching the screen ( about 1 centimeter away from screen ) , Also there is no pointer on the screen when i hover s-pen over screen
I had more or less the same issue time ago, with another s pen, it kept drawing for about 3 mm while not touching the screen, got another s pen, and everything fine, go claim warranty ASAP

Maybe did you drop the spen and the needle got stacked, try to remove it and use a new one, before warranty claim. I had the same issue with note 4 spen.
I'd like to be able to take a quick note while the Note 5 is laying on my desk. But to take the stylus out, means I have to pick up my Note 5.
Perfect solution would be to leave the stylus out (Or use a larger stylus like that nice Staedtler pencil one) and wave my hand to wake the screen already in low power note taking mode.
Anything like this available, or suggest an alternative way of working?
Easy screen turn on
I use this lot's to wake up my phone without touching it
