My question is this, is it possible to dual boot two different versions of Android? Specifically, one rom that runs 5.1 and the other running 6.0? I am not new to android but my technical knowledge is limited. Thanks!
yes, with multirom, check the thread in Android original development section

Why do we have 2 forum sections? What is the difference between the two? I've always wondered and see it on most all devices in the XDA forum.
Everything in the Original Section is made from scratch, while in the Android Dev Section its taken from the Original Section and modified.
Original Android = Stock Roms
Android Development = Custom Roms

a great thread describing the difference between android development and original development http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2/general/original-development-vs-development-t1219612

Is there a possibility MIUI 6, which is available to public now, could that be ported over to HTC One M7 along with android 5.1.1?
As there is no 5.1.1 for the m7 out side of aosp based roms I really don't see this happening. Best you will get is one maybe ported for 5.0.1. Also not many people use that here so your better off on the miui site.
With the current firmware HTC provided for 5.0.2, can that work on CM12.1 with 5.1.1, how did they manage to make our firmware work?

It is possible to make a ROM ubuntu touch with this tutorial? or there is already a way to install this system in the Nexus 6?
New Device Roms, Dev Ubuntu Touch
I am curious about this as well. I would love to use Ubuntu Touch on my Nexus 6. I thought it would eventually be officially supported, but haven't seen anything yet. Any one got this working and if so what functionality because searching gives little results.
Thanks
doesn't look like its for lollipop. all I see on the git is for 4.4.2

there seems to be a leaked rom for another phone. i wonder if this helps?
I'm no expert by a long shot, but doesn't that device use the older version of Android as well? At least the android counter part.
I am super excited about Ubuntu Touch. Now that it has released for real I'm thinking this thread needs a look.
BUMP!
Ubuntu Touch is based on Android 4.4.2. The Nexus 6 never shipped with Android 4.x. So there is an additional complication that no one has figured out how to solve. You need to build a kernel and base from the 4.4.2 source code, which... doesn't exist for the nexus 6 or newer devices.
I'm just wondering if anyone is still doing ROMs for the M9? I thought about updating to a newer phone, but I am happy with the hardware, I'm just hoping that someone is still out there willing to build a ROM since I'd prefer to just update my phone to Android 7.0 rather than looking for a new phone.
I'm going to guess that the answer to my question is a big fat "no" unfortunately... boo

Viper LeeDroid and ICE are all still developing for the m9, but waiting for new base

Is this a tmobile m9 or an unlocked dev m9?
Hi guys , I have been looking through xda and could not find a single discussion on basics of installing custom rom on android devices my very first question is
1.) I have a smasung galaxy note 3 n9005 currently running 5.0 lollipop version, I tries to install a marshmallow custom rom on this device but it fails and I have to again restore my back up so I want to ask whether it is compulsory to install a marshmallow kernel for a marshmallow rom or can a marshmallow rom install on lollipop kernel .
