Benzo vs Chroma vs Other (Marshmallow ROM only) - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey folks,
Which ROM do you prefer of these? If you don't like either, which do you like and why?
I'm hinging on either Chroma or Benzo, both of which are very good but I want customization and stability too.

I've used both pretty extensively. They are both great ROMs but Pure Nexus is my new daily. I've never used a ROM that is so snappy as Pure Nexus. This is not to bash the others but my personal experience, Pure Nexus has been the best mix of customization, stability and performance.

What custom ROMs are available for Droid Turbo?

I tried Computer Freak and CM 12 Nightly. I like CM but when taking videos it buzzes.
What other options are there?
Resurrection Remix, and Mokee.
I've had no trouble with CM12.1, so I have stayed with it. Resurrection Remix has gotten lots of praise.
RR is basically a combination of a ton of ROMs, including CM. I've been using RR for two days now, and I can vouch for its stability. It's a lot smoother for me than stock ever was, and the battery life so far is impressive for a custom ROM.
The best is computerfreek's latest. Absolutely no lag ever. Awesome battery.

I've used a bunch and I keep coming back to this

TL;DR: The three CM-based ROMs are all very similar. They aren't as smooth as a stock-based ROM, though tweaking kernel settings can help. Computerfreek's ROM is the smoothest, but lacks much of the customization of a CM-based ROM, though Xposed and GravityBox can help.
Computerfreek's is by far the smoothest of the bunch. You can get the CyanogenMod-based ROMs to a similar level of smoothness if you tweak the kernel settings a little, but they're still more inconsistent than Computerfreek's. I also find that the CF ROM to have slightly better battery life since you need more aggressive kernel settings to get a smooth experience on CM-based ROMs. On the other hand, CM, RR, and Mokee are much more customizable due to their CM base. Much of the customization can be replicated on the CF ROM using GravityBox, but I find that the native tweaking works better and there is no replacement for the excellent CM theme engine. The ability to install baybutcher27's kernel and tweak those settings on CM-based ROMs might also be enticing. As for which CM-based ROM to pick, they're all obviously very similar. CM is great; stability and smoothness are pretty solid. I prefer RR myself since there are a few extra options and performance seems similar. Mokee is my least favorite - the other two seem to run a little better for me and some customization features are missing here, but you can't go wrong with Mokee either.
Personally, I've spent the past few weeks switching between ComputerFreek's ROM and RR. I love the buttery smoothness and consistency of a stock ROM, but the customizability and theme engine of RR just keep pulling me back. I'm on RR right now and hope to stay there until Marshmallow, but who knows.

What rom(Pie) do you guys use as a daily driver?

Hey guys, can you recommend me a custom pie rom for Oneplus 3T? I have been reading about Pixel Experience Rom & LineageOS. I'm unsure about which one to go. I mostly use my phone for messaging, calls and reddit/instagram/quora and stuff. I don't use my phone for gaming. So, what rom would you guys suggest for a daily driver.
Thanks!
For a long time Msm Extended. Stable and full of customization.
I'm on SkyDragon and quite happy with it. Very fast due to chip specific optimizations, has enough customization options, no apparent bugs at this point.
Tbh any ROM will do if you're not a demanding user so just try something

Well honestly I like simpler interface that's why I mentioned Pixel Experience and LineageOS. Who among them would be a better choice?

Well, apart from ROM specific customizations menues (which you can simply ignore if you don't wanna tinker with it) they all use stock AOSP interface, so they're all pretty much the same in that aspect.
I haven't personally tried (yet) those two that you mentioned, simply because SkyDragon was first Pie ROM that I tried after a bit of research and then I didn't feel the need to change it. I would assume however that LOS can't be a bad choice; I've used it before (older Android versions) on multiple devices and was always satisfied with it. It is still in beta though so some minor bugs are to be expected.
HAVOC, SKYDRAGON, MSM(next release)
I would highly encourage you to use NLOS 16. It's a stock LOS 16 build with developer's cherry picks to add more stability. There no extra gimmicks or customization than what you will find in a LOS build. Instead, it's more stable and bit better on optimizations that stock LOS build. I would highly recommend you to try it if you want to chose from LOS and Pixel Experience.

Is it stable? - Yes, during my 1 week usage with it, it was a stable ROM.
Battery Life - Your usage is different than mine. No one can answer this question for you. You need to flash and try and then see for yourself if the battery life is good for your usage. Someone who watches a lot of netflix or youtube can have 6 hours SOT and will call the battery life great. On the other hand, with 4G 100% time connected, and lot of location access, phone calls, high brightness usage, i am lucky if I have 4 hours SOT at the end of day. So, rather than asking battery life questions, just try the ROM and see for yourself. It has all basic functions working so you won't lose on anything. It's the beauty of custom ROMs. If you don't like one, switch to other one of use stock till you find the one ROM that works for you.
AOSiP
I have tried every pie rom , nothing can match AOSiP in smoothness and stability
Havoc Os, the best pie rom ever...
Using closed beta. Bugs are present
I use LineageOS 16, and it's the best of ROMs for me.
I like AOSP style OS, and I have ~5 hours of active screen.
DU -> Havoc -> Closed Beta ... I can not decide and jump between this 3 roms...
Currently NitrogenOS...no bugs, very smooth, great battery life

omnirom support

omnirom is the best smoothest rom ever seen and probably one of the most stable
it combine the best of all rom( the smoothness of aosp and nitrogen, the low latency of mokee/lineage os and it maintain performance over time)
hope it get some builds
i tried for years lots of rom . i can say omni is the best of all. on op5t omnirom is the smoothest rom, even codename proenix is smooth but discontinued
i tested a lot of devices. omni is very well made custom rom. pixel experience is ok but over time performance degraded like los

Best custom ROM

eae guys, I've been switching from ROM to ROM for a while to see which one is the best, but I can never decide for one, because something is always missing.
Today i'm at havoc 2.8 because for me it was one of the most stable that i used.
I would like to know which one is the best for all requirements, customization, stable, without bugs, and good in performance, because some with Android 10 that I used gave a lot of lage during games.
Evolution x or pixel experience
I too have used a lot of roms and used the pixel experience until i realized that it did not have the customizations. It was fast and stable but it lacked the customizations. I then switched to evolution x and haven't turned to any other rom since. Its stable, fast has a good battery life and has customizations. They also update it every month .
So evolution x
Official pixel experience
O Will try PE again, with customizations bcz I like to leave the phone with everything I like.
If not, I'll switch to evolution anyway

Xiaomi.EU vs Custom Roms

Hi everyone, I'm thinking about using the latest ParanoidAndroid or HavocOS but I'm curious for everyone who has used both xiaomi.eu or stock rom and those custom roms I mentioned above. What do you guys think is the difference? Pros and cons of each roms? What do you suggest? im currently on xiaomi.eu
The desire to try is great, but both paranoid and havoc have some flaws .... The best is: Xiaomi. eu 11.0.9. stable QFACNXM

That's what I feel man. Haha. I really want to try custom roms but from experience with my oneplus 3, custom roms like havoc is faster but the photo and video quality is bad compared to stock and also the battery life is also shorter. :/

Hi. I have always preferred android stock, miui I do not like too much. I have tried many roms (pixel experience, paranoid android, extended ui, lineage, havoc ...). The devs do a great job, and the roms are very stable, very few bugs. However, unfortunately, the truth is that none is as stable as miui. They are less smooth, the camera and the sound are worse, and I have always noticed something strange in the scrolling of apps such as the browser, Telegram, etc. I suppose it has to do with the proprietary drivers of Xiaomi, but in the end in miui everything ends up working better. It is my opinion

Thank you so much. Yeah, it's really the performance from the custom roms that makes you want to install them but the stability, it really is more stable with miui. I guess I'll just stick with the stock rom for now. Thanks again.

Honestly, the performance and battery life on the eu rom is also better than the AOSP roms, because it includes so much of the proprietary customization and the proprietary drivers.
xiaomi.eu should be default ROM for all xiaomi phones
