Nexus 6 worth it now? - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I currently have a Nexus 7 2013 and Blackberry Z30. I probably can get a Blackberry Priv for half price, or find a cheap Nexus 6. I think if I got a Nexus 6 I would replace my tablet as well with it, but basically, should I replace both devices with a Nexus 6, replace the Z30 with a Nexus 6, or replace the Z30 with a Priv? I'm used to using my Nexus 7 as kind of a large phone, so the size of the 6 doesn't really put me off.

Nice video
I basicaly think the same as the top comment
Nexus 4 (16gb) 349$ - iPhone 5 (16gb) 649$ (x1.86)
Nexus 7 (32gb 3g) 299$ - iPad mini (32gb 3g) 559$ (x1.87)
Nexus 10 (16gb) 399$ - iPad (16gb) 499$ (x1.25)
Nexus 4 broken? I can buy a new one for just 49$ more than 1 iPhone
Nexus 7 broken? I can buy a new one for just 39$ more than 1 iPadMini
iPad broken? I can buy a new one for "just" 599$ more than 1 Nexus 10

trouble is with the argument "ahh well the iPhone is $xx more than the Nexus etc etc" isnt quite right.
As far as we know it costs a similar amount to PRODUCE a iPhone, S3, Nexus etc. Then there's just a mark-up.
True the nexus is cheaper but it wont be that much less to produce.
No matter what Apple have got things right designing there own hardware and software. Look at my Nexus - all that muscle but very little to show for it regarding performance tests coming out. Wheres all the power ? ? ?
+ LG and Googles "ooo lets make it all shiny" approach has basically resulted in probably the most damage-prone android phone to date.
I know luck in how they fall comes into it, you wont have the exact same each time, even using that machine.
That said the Nexus 4 is poorly designed and that is what it gets for having no impact zones.

Trade iPad 3 For New Nexus 7 ?

I'm looking to get rid of my iPad 3 16gb and get a new android tablet. I can get £210-£230 for my iPad 3, And I won't be able to add money to it for a few weeks to a month to get another tablet
So, Do you think I should go ahead and get a nexus 7 32gb? Or keep/wait/save?
Just need some help deciding...

What's wrong with the iPad?
Wait at least another week, until googles keynote is over, MAYBE they'll announce anything new, like a refreshed Nexus 7 or something.
Other than that, you know benefits of android (based on N4 that you have) over iOS, so it's your choice. If you like smaller screen, go for N7, if you like the big thing, stay with iPad, because bigger screen android tablets actually worth getting are around 400$/€/GBP.
N7 is still THE 7" tablet to get I think, you can take a look at 8" galaxy note, that thing looks quite nice, and you get a bit more screen size because of physical buttons.
At least wait until googles keynote is over, and decide then.
PS: In slovenia people are selling iPads 3 16GB (3G) for around 350 (450)€
I suggest you to wait. The next nexus 7 will soon be released and won't be more expensive than the actual. Also ipad 3 has a lot better processor, but it's understandable that you get rid of ios like me.

Why not downgrade from iPad 3 to iPad 2 and from the money get youself a N7?
That way you an keep a 10" tablet and acquire a portable 7" one
Yesterday I sold my iPad 3 with cellular and bought iPad 4. I also got nexus 7 32gb for £130 on eBay really good condition. Having tried both os I wouldn't recommend getting rid of iPad 3 for nexus 7.
I would first test android before a complete switch. Also it makes sense to wait for new version so that don't feel downgrade in resolution.

The nexus 4 is great value now, the nexus 5 probably isn't too far away, but for 200 quid for the 16GB version you're still getting arguably one of the top spec phones out there at the moment.

It's like Sophie's choice haha!
Been looking at Nexus 4 for a while as lots of the ROMs I use on my Nexus 7 are made for that too. But I know if I bought the Nexus 4 now I would be gutted when the New Nexus 4 (or 5) gets released!

Got an S4 last month on contract, but had contemplated the Nexus 4 as it was such good value. Had pretty much decided on the S4 and in the end the nexus 4 was out of stock with my provider so that was that. Have a Nexus 7 as well so it keeps my pure vanilla android cravings satisfied!
There is always the 'next' device just around the corner, have seen articles with S5 rumours knocking about already! At least you can be certain it will receive the next key lime pie update which should also be incoming very soon, which always gives that type of new phone excitement!
nexus 4 16gb for £200?!?!?!
daaaaaaaaime bars!

Will the nexus be called Nexus 7 ... Again?

does anyone know?
Well the n4 was 4.7"
The n5 was 4.95"
And then n6 is 5.96"
At that rate were gonna be holding 9" phablets up to our faces lol. I really feel like 5.2-5.5 is the absolute max for any phone.
Wouldn't that be confusing.
I guess Google never really thought probably with their name of their devices.
It could be called the Nexus 7UP!
Uuhm.... i'm pretty sure if they release another similarly sized phone/tablet... it'll have the same naming convention based on screen size. You know... since there was the Nexus 7 (2012) and the Nexus 7 (2013).
This isn't Apple we're talking about with the iPad, iPad 2, iPad 3, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, etc...

Goodbye Nexus 5!! Google takes Nexus 5 off the new "Google Store"

Google announced the new Google store but the listing of Nexus 5 is gone .
http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2015/03/meet-updated-chromebook-pixel-and-new.html
Clicking phones on https://store.google.com/ take you to the Nexus 6 listing https://store.google.com/product/nexus_6
The Nexus 5 has no place on the new site. This was speculated a while ago but just the feeling of it being off the store is awful.
I love the Nexus 5 with its quirks, endless issues and powerful specs at the price we never imagined.
Yep, not available for sale anymore https://store.google.com/product/nexus_5
I really do hope they replace it with another 5" device.
I'd love for there to always be both a "normal" phone and a phablet in the Nexus line.
Especially since I have no desire for a phablet, and I've only ever purchased nexus devices. I managed to skip the Nexus 6, but my N5 definitely won't last another year after.
I think it was taken off sale on purpose to push nexus 6 sales, me personally id rather have the 5. The 6 is nice but i know from nexus devices they are usually cheap and good for performance with a few corners cut, I couldn't buy the 6 for its price knowing there is better phones out there at a cheaper price

Loved my Nexus 5. Loved it. Slightly bigger screen (5'2"), bigger battery, it would have been perfect.
I sold it for the Moto Maxx (same specs as Nexus 6, also made by Motorola but 5.2" and 3900 mAh battery) but I still have fond memories. And my wife loves her Nexus 5.
For the specs it had and the price, it was fantastic.
yup , its gone from indian play store too ..
We will see it return.. Stronger and faster than it was before..
Cue Six Million Dollar Man theme music.
who knows? maybe there will be Nexus 5 2015 edition hihihi :fingers-crossed:
The Nexus 5 will still be for sale new on Ebay and Amazon among others. It's not going anywhere for a while. You can even still buy a new Nexus One if you wanted. Just because the play store has stopped selling it means nothing.
There will be.

I hope so. 5.5" screen, 4gb ram, and whatever fast 64bit cpu would work for me.
Farewell to NEXUS 5

Everyone has their own opinions....its mine...."discontinued" feels bit low..
I seriously hope they continue with the 5 inch Nexus series. Nexus has the best development community by far. We get all the new roms and features way before other phones.
I fear developers will jump ship to another brand if the only available Nexus is a 6 inch...

Technically discontinued is right. But I'd assume since the Nexus 5 is better or probably on par with most flagships nearly this long after it's 2013 release, people consider it as like a limited edition phone.. I'm on the fence. While I also feel that technically it is discontinued, I also feel like the value of the Nexus 5 may slightly increase because it's still a great phone for development and it's going to be harder to find, and the Nexus 5 IMHO was probably the best Nexus phone released to date, the Nexus 6 is a phablet and honestly don't know much about it's successor based on it's size I immediately figured it would be the wrong phone for me, plus I've heard the Nexus 6 had it's share of problems like any phone. Nexus 5 had their initial batches which were flawed in design somewhat and they updated the form factor for it.
(very proud to say I have a 32GB launch edition white Nexus 5 btw)

May as well call every discontinued device "limited edition".
You forgot the word special
