Am I the only one waking up to a system update for the LG Optimus L90? I've just downloaded and started the installation process so I'm not sure what version it is but my current version is 5.0.2.
Keeping my hopes up that it's Android 6.0! I'll updated this post when I know more. :good:
Update-
Don't know why but it updated to 5.0.2 again. I was prompted to update my system this morning with a 70mb system updated and I'm not sure why it turned out to be 5.0.2 again. Anyone know the reason for this?
Its probably the stagefright patch if it is anything. I don't LG could be this fast in bringing 6.0 to us. It has only been about a month since the source was released
If I had root, and etc, Would this wipe that off? I only ask because I'm thinking about flashing to stock with a KDZ and re-updating to Lolipop and getting this update. I've got bad relations with my carrier.
:/
Yeah it would get rid of root. You should install brossovitch's modified stock ROM if you want to keep root.
Lock the doors, disable ota, immediately!

i want to update to lollipop but say my phone its already updated.... i saw in android development that uploaded the update already... but is a backup and i dont want to lose my information.
If you flash only the system and boot images it won't affect userdata. Unless you erase it yourself.
Oh, and do backup your existing image first before you do anything.
I just got my phone from USCellular on 2/16, and today (2/18) did the Lollipop OTA update. Still not sure if I like it or how everything is working.
i didnt not received it u.u had to manually update... could it be because i had custom recovery or root?
I have MOTO G2 (XT1068). I have rooted it and even flashed many ROMs on it. Now if official 5.1 update comes from Motorola and if I revert back to pure stock(one without any customisations) then will I be able to get that update or I have to wait for someone to release it on XDA . I don't know about this things that's why I am asking.
Thanks in advanced.
You can grab the update image and fla**** with fastboot this wipes everything.
Unroot remove all customizations an see if you get the ota, you won't lose any data.
or wait for someone to upload an update zip for recovery
Thanks:thumbup:
I am not sure why it is happening with but i am not able to install 5.0.1 (12 MB) update on my Moto X 2014. I have unlocked bootloader and phone is rooted running on 5.0 Lollipop firmware.
Baseband Version:
MSM8974BP_4125.184.08.27.01R
VICTARA_EMEA_CUST
System Version
22.21.19.victara_reteu.retailuall.en.EU retin
It downloads the update file.
Reboot the device.
Goes into recovery and show me that it's installing the update. Half way on the progress bar the phone reboots.
After booting I see message which tells me that System update installation is failed. It does not give an error message or reason.
I tried installing it multiple times but same results. Any help will be appreciated.
To add Motorola Device Software updater shows me that my firmware doesn't have any available updates. Whereas i am getting regular notifications to run system update.
I attached screenshot of Motorola Device Software updater.
You should be happy, i had exact same config, and had soft brick when trying to upgrade. I believe you can't do the update if you are rooted. So you must flash stock back and then update.

My phone keeps displaying that i have pending system update. What is the right way to get the update without bricking your phone?
After your update i am not going to try any workaround methods to force upgrade. But this is something that should be well explained by Motorola or Android community somewhere on internet. I think need to wait till the time more helpful resources are available.

i think just flashing back the stock system partition using fastbot should do it. I haven't done this myself though, i needed to completely reflash stock

I am facing the exact same problem.
I am currently on 22.21.19.victara_reteu.retailuall.en.EU and the update notification I am getting is for 22.121.1
I have an unlocked bootloader but the phone is not rooted.
I do not agree that OTA update doesn't work when phone has an unlocked bootloader and is rooted. The Android 5.0 update got installed on my phone when it was already rooted (I lost root access after the update).
Still looking for solution for "OTA installation failed" problem though...

So far My 5.0.1 update never got downloaded and i was not able to update the phone using Motorola update. Therefore i flashed Cyanogenmod 12.1 which has latest Android build. This way i stopped annoying alerts of system update on my phone.
I'll create a thread for the OTA update.
What we know
h345 gets it
60.4 mb
I know you get it if you are on h34510e, don't know about 10d
NOT marshmallow, probably stagefright or some other security patch.
May not work with custom recovery
When I tried to install it, it rebooted to TWRP, and I had to manually boot to to system. When I got back in, nothing changed, but the notification is gone...so I don't know if it actually updated or not...
Did a clean flash of 20r about an hour ago, was in the middle of setting things up when I get the popup about a new update, roughly 164MB in size so I figured what the hell why not (I've got the bootloader unlocked on my H811). Went through the download/reboot/install (took about 3 minutes) and upon getting back into the normal state of the device I took a peek at the software info (pic attached) and note the radio version has changed somewhat and the security patch is now for April 1 2017. No idea what else has been added or changed but the size of the update at about 164MB stood out a bit, will try and find out more info as I'm able.
Of course T-Mobile's support site still only has info for 20r as the last available update but that's not really a big surprise I suppose.
EDIT:
Looked at the VersionInfo data just to see if the anti-rollback had changed but my H811 always shows "Non-fusing device" and I still can't get any accurate info about what that means precisely but anyway, added two pics for the info I'm seeing.
I did
Same here. Waiting for the debloated rom version of this update.....
yup, just saw after a cache and dalvik wipe on reboot.

If you take the OTA update on a rooted device with TWRP (running stock 20r), does it succeed and merely un-root the device, which can then be re-rooted by flashing SuperSu?
pretty sure you'd have to go back to OEM 1st and then root again. But I'd think the root may not keep the 20v.
Better to wait, as above, for a debloated rom version.
Rooted 20v kdz now available
User kevp75 has kindly created a kdz of 20v. There is a download link in this post.
[ROM][KDZ] LG G4 H811 20R Stock Rooted ROM and KDZ - Post #87 - https://is.gd/PD6DIf
Use LGUP in *upgrade* mode to keep apps and data. You will need to use ADB to re-install TWRP and flash SuperSu. xPosed also need to be reinstalled after an upgrade.
But all in all, pretty painless.
As of 5-17 there is a rooted zip of 20v:
