MAN !!! this is unbelievable , 239 mb AVI file can be compressed to 9 mb RAR file or 80 mb ZIP file... !!! actually i am quiet shocked...
the RAR file was too big to be uploaded , so i have to cut it in 3 pieces
put video.part01.rar, video.part02.rar and video.part03.rar in same folder and then uncompress it.
.... why someone only download separated parts ? you can't uncompress it unless you have all 3 of them
i also uploaded tools and icons you've seen in video, check out attachments.
if you find out my video tutorial useful/helpful , i will appreciate it if you click thanks button
for de/recompile apk , you should read stars2's thread first , specially that part about set archive format to zip and compression format to store
otherwise it won't work !!!
=====================================================================
well , i figured out that not everyone has patient or time too watch 18 minutes of video , so , here is shortcut.
download tools and battery icons in attachments.
uncompress them to somewhere , anywhere you like , for example C:\mobile which is where i put them...
extract Systemui.apk from /system/app and framework-res.apk from /system/framework to C:\mobile.
open up CMD , and change direction to C:\mobile
Code:
cd\
back to root , in this case to C:\
Code:
cd mobile
change direction to mobile folder , in this case to C:\mobile
Code:
apktool if framework-res.apk
load framework
Code:
apktool d systemui.apk
, d means decompile ...
after decompilation there will be a folder named systemui.
and then go to C:\mobile\systemui\res\drawable , replace stat_sys_battery.xml and stat_sys_battery_charge.xml which is in attachments.
and then C:\mobile\systemui\res\drawable-hdpi put 200+ icons of battery in here.
go back to CMD ,
Code:
apktool b systemui 123.apk
b means build , 123.apk is new APK name , you can name it whatever you want.
after recompilation completed, go to C:\mobile\systemui\build, there is folder named apk , copy it to C:\mobile\APK-sign
drag apk folder to sign_pack.bat , and then there should be a new folder named apk_done and apk_done.apk inside of it .
rename this apk_done.apk to SystemUI.apk (i don't if it works only at SystemUI.apk or also works on systemui.apk , but just in case , use big s and big U and big I)and drag it to empty flashable zip in attachments then you can flash it via recovery.
=======================================================
yeah...i did it for myself but i also post it here because i guess some of you might like it...
first of all , thanks to HAKA for this great ROM.
second, thanks to fergie716, stars2 for their guide and etoy for help me out of it

i replaced toggle icons where some people says they don't like white icons .. unfortunately i didn't find suitable replacement for airplane mode and WIFI AP...
i also add the percentage both charging animation and 0 - 100 icons for battery , as screenshot
replaced some icons like silent / vibrate mode
i deleted that in-out small arrow inside signal and wifi , it's kinda bother to me ...
i alse killed all grey signal, wifi and G,E,H,3G icons replaced with blue one ,
just like this , originally there one set for grey and one set for blue , now it's all blue...
upside icons are original
downside is what i have now ...
watch out , this is zip file contains my change and original file you have to unzip it first.
always remember backup before you flash/do anything !!!

Thanks for putting this together.
I don't think you have to sign the Systemui.apk or framework-res.apk , btw.
I pretty much only sign /data/app s -- but let someone else confirm that.

well , both guides i read said it needs to be signed .. so , just in case , anyway , it doesn't delay much longer
Yes it´s right, DON`T sign System-Apks like SystemUI.apk or Framework-res.apk otherwise there are problems with the signature of the ROM !

How-To change Apps in the S-PEN Shortcuts toolbar
I found, after a long time, a solution for change the Apps in the S-Pen Shortcuts toolbar. The toolbar pops up if you pushed out the S-Pen.
I don´t like and use some Apps like this stupid Game "crayon_physics" or Polaris Office...... first i have delete the Game but how i can get a new App in this Toolbar?!?
Now i have found a solution!!! And i want to teach you how you can do this!!!
First a few Screenshoots before and ofter the modding:
before (without the game):
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
after modding:
So .... how can you change the toolbar? I have tested it only on a deodexed ROM!!
What do you need?
any APK Tool Manager for decombile and recombile, like this LINK
a Text Editor like Notepad++ (free)
your SystemUI.apk from your ROM
a cup cake and a coffee :laugh:
First you decombile the SystemUI.apk
Go to the folder systemui\res\values
open the arrays.xml with the Text Editor
Here you find this lines
Code:
com.diotek.mini_penmemo,com.diotek.mini_penmemo.Mini_PenMemo_Service
com.sec.android.app.snotebook,com.infraware.filemanager.FmFileTreeListActivity
com.android.calendar,com.android.calendar.AllInOneActivity
com.acrodea.crayonphysics,com.acrodea.crayonphysics.crayonphysics
air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1,air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1.AppEntry
com.infraware.PolarisOfficeStdForTablet,com.infraware.splash.SplashActivity
Now you need the packageName and the className of the App that you want to make in the Toolbar.
An example:
com.acrodea.crayonphysics,com.acrodea.crayonphysics.crayonphysics
packageName = com.acrodea.crayonphysics
className = com.acrodea.crayonphysics.crayonphysics
or
air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1,air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1.AppEntry
packageName = air.com.adobe.pstouch.oem1
className =com.adobe.pstouch.oem1.AppEntry
Now you can change the packageName & className with your wanted Apps and recombile the SystemUI.apk
Pushed the SystemUI.apk in a flash able ZIP or changed it in your ROM.
Here are a List of Apps that i have allready tested! If you have an other App please post the packageName and the className and i added it on this List!!!
Or install the ClassFinder App
Code:

That is the best entry I have seen on this forum, today!
Thank you
I have been looking for something like this.
Now, if we can just get it to be modified, on the fly (as an app and not required to be flashed in recovery), by specifying the apps you want to put in there....THAT will be cool and very, VERY useful.
Thanks for you hard work - appreciated.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work properly for me. I do get it to work, but then the systeui.apk crashes every few seconds. Do you have an indication of what could go wrong, or at least where do you think a mistake is made?

That was my bad coz thats in framework-res.apk , but instead of talking like that you couldve simply answered my question. I know a lot about theming and have made themes for myself and since ive been out ofall of this work so i forgot. Using the vrtheme template is making a mod is easy but you can change the bg by editing the tw_status_bar_expanded.xml in the layout folder. Its good that you are making such mods available to everyone. But anyways , i still didnt get the answer i was looking for.

Well, sorry coz i was bad in explaining. I just replied in hurry and if you know all theming and all for our s duos then this question for "simply changing the statusbar_bg.png or stat_bar_bg.png in systemui.apk or framework-res.apk" whatever has no mean at all from you.
Well my friend, i was meant that there is no such file in any of apk file having such image file for background of notification panel.
And mate only systemui can have such files for status bar and its panels. Neither in framework-res.apk or not any other.
Explanation in short
What i did is:
As you have seen my this thread
Enabling/modding Transparency
Then in this part 'Now for making StatusBar Expanded/Notification Background transparent.'
I just changed the value "#xxxxxxxx" to "@drawable/statusbar_bg".
In files 'tw_status_bar_tracking.xml' and 'tw_status_bar_tracking_dual.xml
but not 'tw_status_bar_expanded.xml'
So you changed it from id/#### to @drawable right ? Wow ill check those xmls out. Thanks

Not id
I changed '#xxxxxxxx' (color value) to @drawable/statusbar_bg" (source of image)
where @drawable/statusbar_bg" means @drawable-hdpi/statusbar_bg.png
Ok so instead of using the color value u redirected it to the png ? Great, ill have a try with that transparency mod of yours as this mod is based on that i guess. Thanks

For transparency with background mod needs this:
Use any image editing software like Gimp (I always use this only )
Open that image in it and change the opacity as per your need, save it as 'statusbar_bg.png' only and then continue with step 9.
Here are some screenshots for gimp:
Yes i figured dat out , used an image with some transparency already in it. Thanks for the mod
Just a suggestion- this mod replaces the existing systemui.apk so it actually removes the theme which is already present. So it would be great if you can make a mod which actually just changes the current systemui.apk instead of replacing it. You can easily do this by using the vrtheme template u used in this thread. :thumbup:

My friend, if you are using any one of my themes or stock theme, see all the first post again clearly. You will get all your answers for that.
But if you are talking about this:
If you or anyone did something himself/herself for theming without my themes by replacing pngs or by using any other app . Then there is no solution just now because values has to be changed in values folder only so it cant be done by vrtheme patcher and if vrtheme patcher will not do this then obviously previous theming will be lost.
So for them and for you too, its better to make backup of systemui before flashing this mod.
cheers
Yes i was using my own theme so i themed your apk given in the mod. So do you have to change a value in one of the files in the values folder? Cant you replace the whole file in the folder with a modified one ? Vr theme template can be used to replace a particular file just like u replaced the statusbar_bg.png in drawable-hdpi.

This is the guide to replace JB stock platlogo with lollipop platlogo . It works on Jellybean. I doubt it will not work on Kitkat and lower ICS versions . For that you can try this guide which uses eggster app ( Credits for that guide goes to @Chetan Lodha ) . In this guide I'll show you how to replace JB platlogo with Lollipop Platlogo without eggster app . I wanted this because eggster app runs in background and consumes a bit of RAM from my low RAM device.
Tools required:
1) ApkTool (with JAVA JDK installed in your system)
2) Notepad++
Files Required:
1) framework.jar
2) framework-res.apk
3) build.prop
4) Lollipop-Platlogo.zip (Download directly here or from attachments)
Guide:
1) Decompile framework.jar
2) goto framework.jar.out\smali\com\android\internal\app
3) Open PlatLogoActivity.xml
4) Then find "JELLY BEAN" and delete the contents inside, within double quotes.
Before:
{

"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
After:
5) Now recompile framework.jar
6) Now Decompile Framework-res.apk
7) Goto framework-res\res\drawable-nodpi\ and replace "platlogo.PNG" and "platlogo_alt.PNG" with the ones you will find in downloaded zip attachment.
8) Now recompile framework-res.apk
9)Now edit your build.prop and replace
From:
Code:
ro.build.version.release=4.x.x
To:
Code:
ro.build.version.release=5.x.x
10) Lastly push all three files framework.jar , framework-res.apk and build.prop to your system and ENJOY!!

I'm not able to understand what you are saying . Please say clearly . After deodexing the rom framework.odex is merged with framework.jar then you have to decompile this framework.jar which gives you smali files in a folder normally called framework.jar.out . There you will get PlatLogoActivity.smali
