Can not switch off auto-rotate screen! - HTC Desire 510

I run into a very annoying issue with my HTC Desire 510(Android version: 4.4.3). It kept auto-rotating the screen even when I switched it off in the settings(in both Display and Accessibility, it seemed to be not respecting the these settings). So I decided to reset the phone. It was fine(no screen rotating, and it applied the rules in settings), until I installed a navigation software(Here Maps). It messed up everything again, so I got rid of the app, and magic happens... it is okay again. After a couple of hours, it is playing up again, basically with no installed applications, at all. I used Google Maps, to look up addresses, but not to navigate.
Has anyone had this kind of problem before? Any way to get it sorted or get over it? Would be another ROM a solution?
Many thanks in advance

Having the same problem with my desire 816. Anyway have you sort it out?

Battery Display in Top Right Displaying Incorrectly

**(SOLVED)**I have a slight problem that started recently with my phone, and was hoping someone would know a possible solution or have heard of something similar.(before i go on, i have searched around the forum for a while, and saw no issue that is very similar)
Firstly, i have the stock htc/at&t rom, stock radio, basically everything out of the box aside from a bunch .cabs and games.
Basically, on my today screen, in the top right corner it displays the network coverage (i.e. 3G, HSPDA, EDGE, etc...), the volume setting of my phone(ring, vibe, silent), the battery icon, and the task manager.
Currently, the battery status indicator says full, however when i touch it and the battery power remaining screen comes up it shows 55%.
What i have figured out has happened is that the battery icon in the top right will display whatever charge the battery is at when i turn on my phone, for example if my phone is plugged into a charger and i turn on the phone, until i reset my phone it will display it as being plugged in. So while once i click on it - it will show me the correct battery power remaining, the actual icon itself is not working properly.
[its not so much the that it not working affects me very much, its the fact that it should be working and isnt is quite irritating]
currently the .cabs i have installed are:
HTC home customizer
Pandora Touch 3G dialer
A_C S2U2 (slide to unlock)
pocketmax quote today
jizy HTC action screen
HTC HTC Plus
Spb Time
HTC HTC Home
Of those, i have narrowed it down to probably being cause by the Slide to Unlock program, 3G dialer, or the HTC home customizer, but these are just guesses based on the time i installed the .cabs(usually do a few at a time), and when i noticed the problem started occuring.
As well i might mention that the .cabs i installed might not be the most up-to-date, so if anyone knows that an older version of a cab i have produced a similar problem, than it might be because i have that older version. like i said i have searched for a solution to this problem, but haven't had any successful results.
thanks.

bumpity bump bump.
did you ever install the battery icon installs from the thread below?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289003
also you can check this registry key...
HKLM/securoty/resover/bitmaps
If you have 2 keys in there titled "BatteryIconIdStart" and "BatteryIconLevels", that could also be the issue.
Let me know if you have either of these keys in your registry.
Solved
tnx for the suggestions guys, but i found the problem to be in the Touch 3g dialer(not sure exactly where).
Uninstalled and problem is fixed.
So a word of warning, Don't Install The Touch Dialer. lol.

Click to collapse
I am having the same problem... just uninstaller the touch dialer, but unfortunatley, did not seem to fix the problem. I'll try reinstalling the battery status icon's mentioned above as well (I had previously installed them) in the morning... but for now need to get to sleep. I would like to know if anyone else using the touch dialer is having this issue though.

[Q] Serious buggs after autoupdate of Google Voice Search

Hi there.
I am pretty new here & didn't read up on billboards yet, but I had something very strange happening to me yesterday. The phone automatically downloaded a 'Google Voice Search'-update and since it's installed, I keep encountering problems.
The most annoying one - the camera doesn't work anymore. If I click on the icon, the screen just turns black and remains like that until I either hit the HOME button - or if I wait long enough - I get an Force close-popup.
Furthermore, after calls, the screen also turn dark sometimes, but turn back on after a while. Other that that, everything works fine as before.
Am I the only one?
Does anyone know whether it's update-related or whether it's just a coincidence. Everything else works fine, so I doubt it's something else.
Is there a way to reinstall the camera app without having to flash the phone. As I said, I am a newy & don't want to end up with a brick.
The malfunction started only yesterday after the auto-update. I am on a Spanish GSM network, but I guess that's not of much relevance. The phone is running Gingerbread 2.3.4.
Tks for any suggestions.

[Q] Camera Lock screen icon not working anymore

Usually, if you launch the camera from the lock screen you're able to take photos etc.. without unlocking the phone (I have pattern lock). However recently I am not able to do that. Instead, it just asks for my lock pattern straight away.
The only thing I can think is that I installed Facebook Home which might have changed the launcher behaviour, but I uninstalled that after about 10 seconds, and restored the defaults. But could something still be messing it up?
My last resort will be to clear HTC Sense's local data (and my last LAST resort will be a factory reset), but I'm loathe to do that unless I really need to.
Has this happened to anyone else? Any idea how to fix it please?
first remove the lock screen pattern.
if the problem persists backup your data and do a factory reset
Thanks for the reply...
I've actually managed to track down the issue - looks like a bug in HTC Sense to me (I am using 1.28 so hopefully its fixed in 1.29?). Basically if I enable any Accessibility Service then the lock screen icons dont work. In my case I have the Pebble and Pebble Notifier services enabled, however if you use the built-in TalkBack service then it has the same effect.
Not sure how to proceed with this one so I think I'll fire HTC a support email to see if they've addressed it.

screen turns off after 1 sec when it's being turned on

Hi, I have this problem when i turn on the screen it turns off, tho only the "screen" the buttons still light up and i can feel the vibration when i use the screen. I have tried different roms and still this problem. Sometimes i manage to get it to work and don't have these probs, But i really don't know what it is Thanks in advance!
P.S some roms have this problem for me and some don't so i don't think it's a hardware problem.

Hi there,
funnily I just had this issue yesterday, but I also know it from the past. After some time I found the cause (at least in my case):
the Lightflow-App
You don't happen to have it installed as well? As soon as I uninstalled LightFlow, things went back to normal for me. It started for me after I did some customizing in LightFlow, so it was logic to start with uninstalling that.
I suspect it has something to do with how it is setup or notifications in general. Maybe you have another Notification-App installed?
Let me know if this helped...

Hi, thanks uninstalled lightflow and it stoped, have been force to change roms i just installed becuase i thought this was some problem from the rom.
thanks again

[Q] Google Now Launcher text is blurred

I'm not sure if this is happening on other devices. My Moto X (2013) running 4.4.2 (I am on Republic Wireless) started doing something funny about a week ago. Randomly, I'll unlock my screen to see that any and all text within Google Now Launcher is blurred out. The only way I've been able to fix it is by resetting the device. Clearing cache doesn't work for me. I suppose I could try uninstalling and reinstalling, but I'm not sure if that would really fix an underlying problem if there is one. Does anyone have any ideas?
I had this happen to me one day in an app.. I think it was Reddit Is Fun or Fenix (Twitter). I don't think it happened when I was unlocking the screen, I was already in the app and using it. The screen may have timed out and I unlocked back to it with that app already open, but I distinctly remember the blocky letters on the entire screen, and I could still scroll and stuff. I think I might have pressed Home and my home screen icons had the labels like that too, so I just rebooted and it went away.
I do not use GEL, so I don't think it's related to that. It happened once, I rebooted my phone and it never came back.
I am on stock 4.4.4 XT1060.
