Hi all,
I need to call the Youtube app through my app by clicking in a button!
PS : I need to pass a search too, for example: "Trailler Jurassik World"
How can I do?
Thank you so much!
You can use the YouTube API to perform the search from within your app, displaying the results to the user yourself. Once the user selects a search result, you can send an intent with the video's YouTube URL which will automatically open the YouTube app and playback the video.

ok, this is likely the result of replacing the auto-nooter Youtube app with the "HQ YouTube" app discussed here; but, no matter what I do, I cannot launch YouTube videos from any other application besides the Youtube app itself.
If I click on a Yotube video link in Dolphin HD or gReader, it brings me to a "link not found" page each and every time, for each and every video!
Any ideas?
Hello everybody,
I have an issue with a friend's Z1.
When someone sends him a YouTube link in Facebook, it does't open with YouTube.
It used to open with a Z1 embedded video player but it couldn't open the video link.
After he reset the app open assignments, the window to choose which program to use to open the link pops up, but there NO YouTube in the list!
YouTube is in the device of course as a ROM internal application (so I cannot remove it to re-add it).
Any ideas?

I don't know if it's possible, but maybe try uninstalling any updates to the Youtube app? Or clear cache/data if you haven't tried yet.
I take it your friend's Z1 is not rooted?
Yes it is not rooted.
I think there is option to uninstall updates. Then reinstall them?
I don't see how cache/data clearing will help though.
When I click a YouTube link in the fb app it asks to open in a browser window. I use chrome. It then pops up asking to use chrome or YouTube app to play the video.
Try clearing the defaults in the browser that's used
Hello xda,
Now what I am posting today is NOT THE EFFICIENT way of playing YouTube songs or videos in the background but it is effective. This will shouw that youtube background playback is poasible. I hope someone can understand thh logic and convert this into an application or an xposed module at some point.
Step 1 - ask a friend to call you in a while, say 30 seconds
Step 2 - meanwhile open a YouTube video so that when your friend calls you YouTube automatically pauses it for you
Step 3- take the call and press home button in between the call and then just disconnect it
Your videos should continue playing in the background
Again, I am not saying this is a trick or sth. I am just sharing so that someone can use this and actually make it a trick to play YouTube videos in the background.
PS-the currentxposed module doesn't work for me
PS2- I am facing a problem with my phone, for which I posted in the nexus 5 troubleshooting group but no reply as of yet. Could you please give it a look and help me out there. Here's the link

Current YouTube Background Playback doesn't work because it hasn't been updated to work with the current YouTube, yet... You can simply downgrade your YouTube using XInstaller or Uninstall then Install an older version.
Hi Friends,
I am a Nokia 8 user. Is there any app available which can download YouTube videos in Nokia 8 mobile?
Thanks
I use Arktube. It's effectively an extension to the stock YouTube app, in that whatever video you want to download you just hit the 'share' button and 'download video' through the share screen (the one with things like Twitter and WhatsApp options). The video then downloads discretely in the background.
The app is not free if you want to unlock more advanced features, such as storage location.
I am sure there are hell lots of tool that you can use them.
Just type YouTube Image Downloader in google you will find it.
Thanks
So yeah title pretty much says it all.
I have installed Youtube Vanced, though. Not sure if that might have anything to do with it.
So basically if i launch youtube app and play a video, i can pinch to zoom and have it take up the whole s10 screen (with the camera cutout blocking a bit of the video).
However, if i am watching an embedded youtube video in say relay(reddit), or in chrome, it will not allow me to pinch-to-fullscreen.
Is this something everyone else is experiencing?
That's always how it's been. It's a gesture that works with the YouTube app; not the web-based player
Yeah. Use samsung internet because that knows how to open embedded etc. videos in youtube app for where you can pinch zoom any video

Or course it works. If an embedded video starts to play, just click on the title and it opens it on youtube app
I misread the post above I thought they were saying that you can fullscreen from embedded videos in the Samsung app.
I don't know why I would revert back to the Samsung browser when I can already just click the title in chrome if I want to launch the video in YouTube app.
Anyways, I now understand that if I want to use the whole screen to watch YouTube it needs to be done in the native app.
Thanks guys
