odin fails at sboot.bin - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i am trying to install optimalrom. my device is on 5.0.2, rooted with twrp installed. when trying to flash the firmware package that comes with the rom, odin always fails at flashing sboot. any ideas what is happening? I have to reflash twrp to boot the device again

Need more info, what region is your device, model etc.
You probably need a different firmware.

Its an australian 710. Root and recovery install worked fine, but before flashing the rom in recovery there is a firmware package for odin with i think a 5.1.1 bootloader which wont flash. I tried a stock 5.1.1 odin package as well and got the same thing, you just get stuck at a blue screen saying there was an error updating firmware. I can reboot into download mode and if i reflash twrp with odin, it boots straight to the 5.0.2 stock rom again. There is a message on BigBot96's profile saying he will be away for a few weeks so i thought i would drop a line in the q&a and see if anyone had any ideas

Are you trying to install OH7 or OJ1 firmware?
Also can you post a screen shot of the failure in Odin when flashing the stock firmware?

the firmware that came installed on my tab is t710XXU2AOJ4, and i tried to flash t710XXU1BOH7. By the looks of things my 5.0.2 is a version 2 firmware, and the 5.1.1 is only a version 1, so it fails due to trying to downgrade the bootloader version? Would this explain why when i flashed the optimalrom based on the OH7 firmware it just bootlooped?

So why don't you just try and flash the OJ1 5.1.1 firmware?

Cannot flash Stock firmware after installing newest OTA

Hi! Some time ago I installed an official OTA, then I flashed some custom ROM for testing. Now I want to back to the Stock, but while I try to install the firmware with RSD Lite I get an error that some files cannot be downgraded or something. What I am doing wrong? How can I back to stock?
depends on what ROM you are trying to install. from what I have read, downgrading is a no-no (meaning that the bootloader changed).
that being said, have you tried to flash the FW via mfastboot?
did you make a nandroid of stock?
also, if you had Xposed on this custom ROM, sometimes flashing a different ROM without uninstalling Xposed can lead to problems.
Flash the stock rom with fastboot.
Or Try to flash Version 4.4.4 by from this thread.

I have written all the steps with stock firmware also.
The same happened to me when I tried to install the OTA for my XT1058. I had to flash gpt.bin and fsg.mbn from the OTA zip and all the other components from the stock firmware zip file one by one. The only way it worked for me was using the option 5 in this guide by @KidJoe: http://mark.cdmaforums.com/MotoX-ReturnToStock.html
So, try to get the OTA zip for your phone, put gpt.bin and fsg.mbn with the files from the stock firmware and flash them one by one, following the steps from the guide to the letter.
After that phone booted normally and I had to download the OTA again because some parts of the update were missing since I had just flashed gpt.bin and fsg.mbn from it.

Softbricked sm-t713

I can get to download to use Odin but no bootloader.
It is an SM-T713NZKEXAR US version.
I previously put lineage 14.# and TWRP on it then decided to go to linage 15.#.
Well things went south pretty fast to decided to revert back to stock. The only stock ROM I found was 6.0 so when I run Odin I get SW REV CHECK FAIL: [aboot]Fused 2 > Binary 1. Which, as I understand it, simply says I am trying to revert to 6.0 from 7.0. So now I am stuck I cannot find stock 7.0 ROM for my device. I need help.
Try to flash this 6.0.1 version: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B05ln7wOX_RxbnpYd05xanRHSjg/view
Thanks, I may give that a shot I just think I will still get a check fail???
I put the latest TWRP on my device using Odin so my goal now is to try and flash lineage 15 if I can boot into recovery. Tomorrow, it's late.

Note 5 N920G Stuck at Samsung logo

I'm in a weird situation, I flashed the latest stock firmware for my phone (N920GDDS4CRD2_N920GODD3CQJ2_N920GUBU4CRA1_HOME.tar) through odin and now it is stuck. Then I went to download mode again to flash twrp just to try to wipe cache and stuff to get it working, no luck as it wouldn't boot into recovery. Then I tried flashing the same firmware through odin again but I get an error (sw rev. check failed), I know why I am getting this. its because the phone doesn't allow downgrading and the firmware that I am trying to flash is the latest one. Any help would be appreciated.
Check last twrp installed. Next try flash any custom rom.zip

Lost xz3 firmware and cannot flash a new one / Help noob in trouble

So I used fastboot to flash twrp on my xz3. I succesfully rebooted into that but realised my OS was gone. I downloaded flashtool and firmware from xperifirm but when i try to flash it says cannot open bundle. I tried flashing custom rom but it still says "no os, are you sure you want to boot". I have a lot of problems but the main goal is to get STOCK rom/firmware back
If someone manages to guide me to get stock back, i will provide a cookie
