Why temp root instead of permanent root? You have a Verizon HTC One?
i suppose u have a verizon version right? So KingRoot is what you need, but it's kinda unstable, i have random reboot a lot
I don't think to have a Verizon version, how do I check?
I need to be root to use sunshine, temp or permanent is the same.

So unlock your bootloader at htcdev.com/bootloader then flash latest TWRP recovery and finally flash supersu2.46 using twrp. Why do you want s-off?

Normally you don't need soff to flash custom roms, only an unlocked bootloader + a custom recovery.

I prefer soff to have no problem if I want to change firmware. All my HTC phones are s-off.
So, with the bootloader unlocked I can flash TWRP and su?

exactly. Unlock your bootloader using instruction from htcdev.com/bootloader then flash twrp for your device from here (Assuming your phone is a gsm M7_U or M7_UL) and then flash supersu2.46. Reboot in the OS and then launch Sunshine s-off.

do i s-off the phone first ?
or do i root it using the htcdev and then s-off it ?
can anyone help me
from stock: unlock bootloader - custom recovery - root - soff
You don't need to s-off at all if all you want is root/custom rom. Do you want to have s-off for a particular reason?

I did S-off and unlocked bootloader first, that way HTC don't I have a unlocked bootloader.

I disagree.
S-off from stock then the bootloader can be unlocked also using revone I believe.

S-Off -> Unlock Bootloader through revone -> Custom Recovery -> Whatever you want to do
hello! I have to send my HTC One in for warrenty:
I am now s-off, bootloader locked, super-CID, custom Rom, HBoot 1.44.0000, custom recovery.
What do i have to do bevore sending it in? My One is from T-Mobile germany. Firmware version 1.29.111.11
If i runn an RUU does it flash stock recovery? or do have have to do this manually?
Instead of running a RUU (i cant find an t-mobile germany ruu) is it possible to flash a stock nanadroid backup (http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/444-m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-t-mob101-1281116/ ?)?
how do i get S-on again?
OK, now i am back to T-MOB101 cid! Am i now able to flash this nandroid backup (http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/444-m7-cwm-nandroid-backup-cid-t-mob101-1281116/ ) ? Or is there anything to do before?
does anyone know where to find stock T-Mobile germy revovery? or can i simply use the 401 one?

yes since you have s-off you can use revone again to "lock" your bootloader and remove "tampered" flag after this, don't forget to go back to s-on again. then you should be completely stock.

of course, you only need s-off. here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2314582
and to go back to s-on use hasoon2000's toolkit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2183942

no, use "revone" to "lock" (first link), after this use the toolkit to s-on (second link). root is not needed for these steps.

i can't say for sure. i'd recommend you to use revone, it's safer in my opinion. you've used revone to get s-off, didn't you? so just do the same again and use the instructions in the revone thread (i already postet the link for you)
the s-on function should work fine, but WAIT, first "lock" the bootloader..

Hi i have just unlocked the bootloader for the One. I know it deleted a partition which stops updates from happening. I cannot find a Nandroid for my software number which is 3.62.401.1. Is there an easy way to restore this without relocking the bootloader or losing root? Or are we stuck with this?
I have just come from a One X and nothing like this has happened so there are a few different parts to the One than the One x.
Thanks

You could try this one http://www.htc1guru.com/2013/10/guru-reset-3-62-401-1-stock-rom/
Or S-Off first, then flash the RUU to get back to stock.

Oooh yess because S-OFF means you don't need an unlocked bootloader to flash rom's and recoveries right?

Nope, if you have the 1.54/1.55 hboot you need an unlocked bootloader for achieve the s-off.
However, your problem is simple to resolve.
You've to flash the stock recovery, the same of your version-main (for check this: fastboot getvar version-main), do a factory reset from bootloader, re-flash a twrp/cwm and you can see and use your data partition.

I have done this with an unlocked bootloader, is this fine? There is no flashlight app in the app draw so i guess it won't receive OTA's?

You lost the app so.
You need to found a backup of your rom or that apps.

Looked around cannot find the latest APK's to allow OTA, Nandroids don't seem to have that partition, plus no RUU for this model yet. Why would htc do this? They allow us to unlock it but basically try and block OTA's.
I got frustrated and decided to RUU my phone. I still have s-off, but it won't let me flash recovery.img in fastboot. It says remote: not allowed. My question is, what can I do to get TWRP flashed on this thing. My hboot was updated to 1.55 in the RUU.

Hi,
I've sent my HTC one to repair. It wasn't rooted or S-off or even unlocked. It was mint. Now it came back and I want to root it...tried every possible way...and it fails.
HTCDEV does not work, and I've found in many places telling the same thing that once your motherboard is changed...imei is also changed and therefor it's not unlockable using HTCDEV.
I really need it rooted for an academic project...anybody has any ideas?
BTW it has the 1.54 bootloader.
Thanks in advance to all!
