Dose anyone have the APK file of official youtube from amazon app store? the one from youtube.com, with the blue symbol.
My kindle fire can not be recognized as kindle anymore and can't download this app from amazon app store. I just want to side load it. So, if anyone has it, please, upload the APK.
Thanks a lot.

So, those of you in the NYC area who use Optimum/Cablevision as their ISP may have received an email to download the Optimum App for Kindle Fire which allows you to stream live TV onto your Kindle if you're connected to your home WiFi. They've had apps like this on iOS for a while and they FINALLY released an app for the Kindle Fire.
I managed to download the apk off my sister's Kindle Fire, and it installs fine on the Xoom (ICS stock, rooted). Of course, it asks for root access which you MUST deny, otherwise it won't let you stream. But then as soon as you authenticate into the app, you get a notice that says "Device not supported."
I imagine there must be a way to spoof the app into thinking it's on a kindle fire. Any ideas? I'm happy to share the apk: http://goo.gl/SfLKz
Thanks!

I hope so. I have a nexus 7 and it will be awesome to have this app.
I wouldn't mind trying but wouldn't even know what the correct settings would be nor where to implement them. If you have any suggestions or insights, I'm happy to give it a shot...

So guys,
I have had nearly no time lately, so trying to find a fix for this has been hard to find. So I'm asking you all, how is your play store working? My play store is showing me badly any apps I can install and I can't figure a way to fix it. Do you guys modify your build.prop extensively? All help is appreciated.

Did you change the resolution? When I changed the dpi resolution on my nexus to enable UI I had this problem so I put it back to where it was and then all the apps were available again.
Interesting, I'll try that.... goodbye magic 210...

Ok, I've been frustrated by this one. I've got the gallery install in the system\app folder. It pulls my Google photos beautifully. The problem that I run into is that once I install google+ the photos vanish. Additionally, if I install the play store version, 1. something, the gallery says that I need to upgrade the plus version. Should I assume I'm lacking a gallery file or that I have an old version of the gallery?
Rather enjoying this new challenge.

Any ideas on this folks? To be a little more clear, if I install the play store version available to the Kindle the gallery says I need to update plus. If I install the current plus version the gallery only shows empty frames in my albums. I'd love it if anyone had a suggestion.
Peace

Any chance someone could pull the APK of the Amazon App store version of Wired Magazine from a Kindle Fire HD 7"? Regular Android tablets don't get the nice, tablet-optimized version of the magazine. Instead, we basically get a PDF. The only other copies of the APK floating out there are from the original Kindle Fire, where the magazine content is stuck in a 1024x600 box in the middle of the screen.
Not looking for any magazine content, as I'm a subscriber Just looking for the APK itself. Thanks!

Asking one more time. Any chance someone could pull the APK?

If you're rooted, you could try Market Helper from codekiem, to spoof the kindle device id?

Yeah, I have that one and I believe it's from the original Kindle Fire. The date on that post is in 2011 and the HD was released in 2012.
I'm not 100% sure the APK from the KF HD would even work, but I know the one from the original KF doesn't work correctly. I appreciate the reply.

Really good idea, but people on this thread indicate that it doesn't fool the Amazon App Store.

Thanks for the help, though.
Has anyone received the update yet for the new Prime Music? I've been waiting to try it out but it is not getting pushed to either of my Kindle fire HD.

In the exact same position as you. Thought I'd be clever and just pull it from Amazon's update, but they didn't include the updated APK for whatever reason.
I have 2 kindles that are on wifi all day long and neither one has received it.

It's basically the same as Play Store. You don't want that one?

Problem is solved! I downloaded the firmware from the amazon page, added the extension ".zip", opened it and took the amazonmp3_unsigned.apk from system/app folder and copied it to my kindle fire HD and replaced the apk on it.
Now all works like expected
Thank you but that doesn't help those of us who are trying to get the Prime streaming app which is different from the Mp3 app.

Did you even go to the link I posted? No you didn't or you would not still be looking. MP3 has been completely replaced by Prime Music. Amazon MP3 as a stand alone app has ceased to exist. It may say MP3 in the link but the apk is Amazon Prime streaming app.
Edit: The apk from 1mobile and the Play Store are both 4.0.3. Both are as current as it gets.

Did you even try the advice you gave? No you didn't or you would know the play store version force closes after the first time. The Amazon version is different from the play store version. We need the Amazon version to get it to work on a stock Kindle.

Yes I have. The Amazon apk is not Kindle exclusive. It's the same as the Play Store only the Play Store apk is one update up on Amazon app store. The app has had some issues for some with most recent update for some.

You also could have just hit the uninstall updates option on the app page in the Play Store.

Omg, the APK for the Kindle Fire IS different from the generic Android APK. The have the same identifier name but they are different. Different file sizes, different UI. Different. The Amazon Kindle reader app used to have the same problem, if you are running the Kindle's own OS (or Kinology) and you updated the app through the play store it would break functionality, because they're different APKs. This is well documented.
