hi, thanks for help
how can i do that?
my bootloader is locked an no ways to unlock that

I was having the exact same problem with stock 5.1, battery rarely survived a full day, during sleep used to lost around 15~20% battery.
I recently installed Cyanogenmod and now I lose around 1~3% of battery overnight.
If you cannot downgrade to stock Kit Kat or install a custom ROM then I don't think there is much to be done, I tried several ways to stop the cell standby drain and none ever worked.

Really need help with my fast draining phone!

A month ago I posted this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650113
And I still cannot fix the problem. I sent the phone back to repair but it didn't help at all! The repair description said that they did a 'software update'. It took about 3 weeks for my phone to return so I don't really want to do it again. Unless I really have to.
I have tried many stuff to fix this problem:
Bought 2 new batteries
Clean ROM install with NVFlash
Installed different basebands and rils
Formatted the batterystats
Tried different kernels and ROMs (custom and official)
Pulled out SIM/SD Card
Please does anybody know a solution for this problem? I really want my phone back!

Wow your battery drain (Screenshots from your first thread) is really huge. Let's try to solve that mystery together
But there is a chance that your phone really is faulty after all you tried already.
Please insert the original battery and fully charge it.
I don't use stock roms but think you should flash an official kdz first without any custom kernels. V20q or V20s (maybe with flix tweakpack). DONT use titanium backup etc, leave it stock.
You should install battery monitor widget by 3c to get information on your mV consumption.
In your Screenshot your reception wasn't good, please set it to "2g only" for now (or even consider to disable data totally and check how it behaves with wifi only).
Use your phone normally. How is your battery?

Thanks for responding.
I have tried to install the latest firmware with the LG update tool and the drainage was about the same. I did not install anything else on the device then.
Currently I am on the latest CM7 kang by temasek and baseband version v20s with 420 ril (also v20s daemon, I don't even know what this is).
I'll try battery monitor widget.
The reception at where I live is not so good even with 2g only. But I don't think that's the case becuase I tested with airplane mode activated and have also removed the SIM card.
Thanks again.
Just wanted to report that battery monitor widget is showing a power consumption of about -130 mA while on standby.
I think this is a very big number. And I think I had about -10 mA before this problem.

I had the v20s deamon installed too and I also had a pretty huge battery drain.
So my suggestion : remove it (by installing clean rom again).
As Tonyp already mentioned : try to install an original LG rom with it's default BB en RIL (use NVFlash to flash it). Don't use any other kernels or tweaks. Just the default.
Also don't restore anything (for instance with Titanium Backup or other program).
And set your phone to use 2G only, because a bad reception can indeed drain your battery (and fast too !), because it constantly seeks the network. Setting it to 2G only (it's mostly the strongest signal) can avoid battery drains.
And finally try to recalibrate your battery, there are tools available for that in the Google Play store.
Recalibrating the battery is a hoax. At least if you mean to wipe the battery stats (what most tools do). Real recalibrating would be to completely drain the battery (till the 2x turns of - not more! A completely empty li-ion battery would damage it!) and fully charge it again. But that doesn't improve the battery life, it will only improve the battery reading precisness.

Same results with stock based roms too?
CM roms are battery hungry
Yes, I got the same results on stock ROMs. I tried to 'cleanly' install the v10b firmware via NVFlash without installing else on my phone many times. And the problem still persist.

Galaxy S Advance[I9070] Kernel Wakelock !

Got my S Advance two weeks ago and i am having a wakelock issue since then. So here it comes
1st, It used to randomly shutdown after locking it. Factory reset solved that.
2nd factory reset was because of the phone not going into deep sleep cause of some kernel wakelocks.
3rd hard factory reset wiping the cache still didn't solve the wakelock issue.
I have Cpuspy and BetterBatteryStats installed too which show that it doesn't go into deep sleep and the Kernel wakelocks mainly are "radio-interface" "svnet" "unknown_wakeups".
Can any apps cause this ? I installed all of them from the play store other than BBS.
Android noob here, any help would be really appreciated.
Thanks

I think you sould look at Partial Wakelocks with BetterBatteryStats.
If the problem is kernel-side then maybe you should reflash the ROM
Partial Wakelocks are pretty low in usage, kernel wakelocks are spiked at like 60% and stuff.
How do you flash ROM ? Does it void warranty ?
Do the mentioned above kernel wakelocks provide any idea about the problem ?

I have the "original" Galaxy S but I think that nothing changes.
Kernel-related wakelocks means probably a firmware issue.
First check updates via Kies.
If your firmware is up-to-date then try to flash another firmware made by Samsung with Odin v3 (there are a lot of how to on the internet). You won't lose the warranty
You can pick firmwares here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9070&r=-1#modelsa select your region and country
Kies shows that i am using the latest firmware, while on sammobile there is only one firmware for India which i am currently using.
So what other options do i have ?
Can you post your PDA and CSC (like I9070DXLD1)? You can find it in Settings/Info

Yes, you have the latest firmware for your country. Maybe.. you can try to flash again the same DDLD4 anyway...
Otherwise have a look at Settings/Battery for app consumption. Sorry, I can't help you much more.
If you don't solve the problem..... you have Samsung warranty, right? =)
I currently just keep rebooting the phone until the problem is gone but it comes back after a while
I do have warranty but i doubt Samsung will understand the problem..
Expected more people to respond, anyways thanks for your time
try latest taiwan one.. it may have solved the problem thats only you can do
I noticed that whenever i had no network the kernel wakelock's would spike and my battery life would drain very fast. So i removed my SIM and battery for a while, past two days i am getting good network coverage and not having excessive battery drain and it enters deep sleep.
Perhaps there was a contact issue with the SIM..
The above didn't work its back...

[Q] [T] Which files to pull from ICS to transfer its baseband to JB?

Hello. As some of you may remember - I have serious problems with wakelocks and it's related to a "SMSDispatcher" service (for those who are interested - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2138980).
I had no issues at all on ICS before I upgraded to official JB. Great battery life, huge screen-on time, ~3 days on battery with small usage was something normal for me.
But after upgrading to JB I started to get wakelocks. Loads of wakelocks. I checked battery stats - the Dialer apk showed up. I installed Better Battery Stats and it showed me that "SMSDispatcher" prevents my phone from goind into deep sleep. I thought it was a bug so I flashed back my .195 4.0.4 FW. And guess what. The problem was still there. It... transfered from JB to ICS?! I have this problem for 3 weeks now and even today I still don't know how can I get rid of this.
I tried wiping every partition on the phone including both SD's. Tried deleting contacts on SIM card. Tried deleting all contacts from GMAIL and manually adding them again. Tried flashing stock JB and use my T without restoring ANYTHING. But I haven't tried one thing:
Yesterday I installed unofficial CM10 (from original android development subforum). Almost clear android could have bringed a peace to me finally. It runs great but not perfect. Why? I still have SMSDispatcher issue. LOADS of wake-ups from the Dialer apk (sometimes it shows as com.android.phone, sometimes as RILD).
What I discovered is that on ICS these wakelocks are shorter than on JB. About 1/1,5h of wakelocks for ~22h on battery. On Jelly Bean it was 3h for 8h on battery.
As far as I remember on 4.0.4 .195 FW there was -19 baseband. Both official JB and CM10 use -33 baseband which may be a problem, I don't know.
So my next step in my long path to get rid of this annoying bug is changing to ICS baseband.
And my question is - which files shoud I pull from .195 stock SONY 4.0.4 FW?
I tried to flash baseband using flashtool but the baseband didn't change. It's still -33. So I probably need binaries/files pulled from ICS and I don't know which ones.
Can you help me? Maybe with your help I could finally get rid of this or at least make the problem less annoying...
Can you just flash an ICS firmware and exclude everything except baseband?
Not sure if it wise but it may help you.

I already did that. No result.
Another idea - is it possible to repair software on the phone with unlocked BL?
EDIT:
Ok, found Jozinek's thread with .ftf to relock my bootloader. I will try to repair my software and see if this fix my problem.
Problem solved. It was my old SIM card's fault. It was more than 6 years old and I had to manually cut it from mini-SIM to micro-SIM shape. I probably damaged its inside structure or something. I went to my carrier and requested a new SIM card factory cut to a micro-SIM shape and now everything is ok! No strange wakelocks at all!
Hi mate!
I just was wondering after all that u've experienced what do you thing about JB , which is better for performance and battery life management ICS or JB? I'm just thinking is it worth it to upgrade to JB or stay on ICS
Stay on ICS if you don't like charging your phone once a day (in good scenario). Or twice.
ICS has definitely much better working Extended Standby Mode. It gives you amazing battery life sometimes. I'm on JB because of better multitasking and higher RAM available but speaking about the battery - ICS wins. JB just has to be fixed and tweaked by SONY. It's just a first public release. So bugs are something common. We have to wait.

Flashing stock firmware using Odin/Smar Switch - does not work

Hi all,
I'm having an odd issue. No matter whether I used Odin or Smart Switch I can simply not flash a stock firmware. Regardless of the method, the following always happens.
Downloads firmware to device
Reboots
Shows Android dude with "Installing update"
Stops half way through
Shows Android dude with "Erasing"
Disappears after few seconds
Reboots
Nothing is changed. Same as before the whole process...
EDIT: I actually got somewhere. I flashed an older firmware than the one on my device and it did change the firmware and baseband, but it didn't erase all the data... Is this the normal procedure when you flash a firmware using Odin?
Is it possible Android stops the software update if it sees the battery life is not high enough?
EDIT: nope. Charged to 100%, tried again in Odin. Same story...
Try changing usb cables or ports on your computer..make sure you are using a usb 2.0 port on your computer.

Stock firmware not correct work...
Good morning guys,
I have a problem installing a new firmware with Odin often you accept it as an update of the same non-erasing the data partition and then of course creates problems of battery drain absurd.
Other times aa deletion is successful but the phone has an abnormal battery consumption by approximately 6% per hour, in first place in consumption are the Android operating system entries and operating system that have a 40% higher consumption .. .
I also tried setting then further OTA but the situation does not change.
Can someone help me?
Have you rooted the phone previously? Rooting causes battery drain issues on the Note 5 which are fixed by installing the latest version of SuperSU.

Hi krazykirk thank you for your interest, I no longer want to root the device as I'd like to sell it. Anyway by the time here I install supersu with twrp o auto-root the battery drain disappears.

WiFi Won't turn on after Rooting

Hello, I recently bought a Moto X (XT1097) on Android 6.0 version and as soon as it arrived at my house, I unlocked the bootloader, installed a custom kernel, rooted the device and then I installed the Xposed Framework, following the steps of this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x-2014/general/ota-android-marshmallow-6-0-final-t3248315
Everything went well, but in the end of the next day of usage I noticed that my battery drained really fast ending up at 0%. When I charged and turned on my device , I simply couldn't turn on my WiFi.
Curiously it also happened with my old phone, a Nexus 5. And to solve the problem with both of them I flashed a Stock version of the Android ROM.
I really want to know what I had done wrong. Currently I am using my Moto X with just the bootloader unlocked, nothing more but I really miss using root. Do you guys have any idea what to do? I don't want to root my phone and that problem happen again... It's a pain in the ass to start all over from a data wipe lol
