[NEED HELP] Root CM12.1 - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi y'all ,
I wanna know a couple things :
- If i flash CM 12.1 , will i lose root access (coming from 4.1.2 stock rooted) since i have to wipe everything ?
- If yes , how do i get root access back ?
Thanks in advance dudes !

You'll still be root, and to get full capabilities you'll need to install superuser from the play store

What apk is it? From where are you trying to install it? If it is not from the play store check that unknown sources is enabled.

Strange one.
Sounds like a permissions problem.
Did you flash BusyBox when you rooted??? Search XDA for BusyBox for info on that.
Assuming you have a functioning CWM you can boot into recovery and Fix Permissions. Search XDA for CWM Menu Options for info on that.
A good place to start in diagnosing your problem is with Dr Ketan's Root Guide.
This is the bible for rooting N7000 Notes.

[Q] Updating from .242 to .270 will i keep root ?

Hi ! I have rooted .242 with superSU, Recovery and some Xposed modules, can i update to it without losing root or should i delete all that stuff and update and then root again ? what is the best solution ? i do not wanna flash ! just basic update via PCC.
C6903 stock .242 unlocked nordic and LB
same question !!

Hi,
As far as I know, root enabler apps are located in the system partition, and as you know, updating to .270 will wipe your system partition and install a new one. That means, you'll lose your root access, your Xposed System modules (if they are on data everything will be alright) and your recovery.
So, if you want to update with PC Companion you'll have to root again.
All the best,

Just use Kingroot method, and then switch to SuperSU ! there is loads of tutorials here ! then if you want to, install recovery. I used Nut's Dual Recovery and it works perfectly ! Then i just flashed 4k, timeshift video and Xposed again and downloaded my modules. it was really easy. just stupid to lose Root on a 20Mb update that was relased straight after Kingroot method was relased... Feels like Apple all over again

[Q] Rooted stock ROM without bloat

I had already rooted my phone and have TRWP (Maclaw's) installed. Actually, I am running CM 12.1. But I wanna go back to stock!
But I have some questions:
Where can I download a stock (preferably updated to 4.1.2) ROM?
My device is already rooted, but will I need to flash with SuperSU to give the stock ROM root functionality?
How can I delete Samsung (e.g. ChatON) and Google bloat (e.g. Google+, Hangouts) that comes with the stock ROM?

g800F unable to access internal memory

hello guys, I was hoping to get some help here for my g800f, I will try to run down the problem as accurately as I can...
- I decided to put a custom rom on it, previously I was on stock 6.0.1
- I checked whether I'm rooted, the Root Checker app said I was
- I installed TWRP recovery via ODIN
- then I tried a total of 11 roms, none of them succesful, all stuck in bootloop....
- after 11 tries, i successfully installed AIM rom from this forum, but with no Google apps and no camera app (???)
- after a few more tries, I decided to install the stock 6.0.1 again, again no success
- then I decided to start from scratch, and I installed the CF Auto Root for this model
- voila!, the phone booted properly to stock 6.0.1 OR so i thought...................
- now the camera has only access to 8.0 Mpix resolution
- whatever I put on internal memory, cannot be found by the phone
- whatever I delete from the gallery appears again straight away (?!) ( I can delete photos only from the file manager app)
- video cannot be played, either by the VideoPlayer or by any 3rd party app
Please help me, I want my phone back ....

Download stock rom from sammobile, use Odin to flash stock rom, check to see if problem persists.
I did that, and the results were: camera 8 Mpix, weird internal memory, no video play.....
Please, anyone....
