Half price chargers being sold from China. Go figure. Maybe it's because I grew up jaded in NYC, but if I see something like this, it SCREAMS counterfeit.

Thanks for the head up

I have no idea why someone would risk spending $30 on this product.
Amazon sells the Samsung Fast Wireless Charger for $49.99 which includes the fast charge power adapter (the Ebay version does not).

Of course its fake lol, mostly anything off ebay that comes from China is a knockoff.

The Q? - does it charge faster than normal wireless charger?

I don't know why but my streak won't take charge from either my solar usb charger or my car usb charger. Both have a usb outlet to charge pda's but even though I'm plugging Dell's own cable into them. I'm gutted, especially as I'm getting nowhere near a full day on a full charge. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the streak.

I bought an iphmoan charger kit from ebay. I think it was linked from modaco, at 1.99 gbp. Was even a local seller...
Bit cheap and cheerful, but it charges fine using the Dell cable, just as fast as the stock wall plug. Haven't tested the car lighter charger yet. But for the price can't argue...

yeah it definitely works, both wallwart and cigarette lighter, very cheap feeling but hey it works
can't believe how some of these ebay sellers work, 1.99 delivered yet the included postage cost 1.79..

thats the one I got, auction ended, but he's relisted them now at the same price, obviously we still need a decent cable,
but it's cheaper to buy a spare usb cable from dell (with 10% discount found on mydellmini ) and one of these than a spare charger set from dell.

External Battery Charger?

Planning to buy a second battery for the HD2.
Certainly would be convenient to be able to charge the spare battery externally, and have it ready for use.
Anyone know of an external battery charger that is available? Anyone here actually tried one, and could tell us if it works well or not?
I see one on Ebay-
http://cgi.ebay.com/Battery-AC-WALL...CH-HD2-T8585-/290466531133?pt=PDA_Accessories
Don't know if it is any good though.
Also, not sure if it is really for the HD2 battery. The ad says it is for the "HTC TOUCH HD2 T8585".
Is the HD2 ever called "Touch HD2"? Or do they have it confused with the Touch Pro? What is that number T8585?
Farther down I thought I recall it said something like "for Sprint HD2", although I don't see that now. Sprint doesn't have the HD2, does it?
Even at a cheap price like that, it would be kind of a drag to buy that, and it doesn't fit the HD2 battery at all, then you have to pay for return shipping. (At least it is shipped from the USA, unusual for that kind of thing.)
Anyone here tried one of these, or another one? It would certainly add to the convenience, if one has an extra battery, to be able to charge one externally? (This one says it can charge two, but I don't see how from the pic.)
I just bought a spare battery from this place.
http://www.obostore.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21_45&products_id=189
I bought one and it cooks my batteries. We should start a thread dedicated to finding after market and OEM batteries online. I purchased several batteries from ebay vendors and IMMEDIATELY tested them using a Triton (RC Hobby Computer chargers) it is sophisticated and charges to max recommended voltage then MEASURES the wattage during a fixed drain cycle. I sent up the drain cycle assuming a 5 hour talk time. (MAH of batteries / 5). EBAY batteries consistently only gave 750-850 mah although they claimed over 1000. One seller (I tested 2 batteries) only had 450 and 465 mah.
I purchased cradle chargers, "OEM" Car chargers, as well as wall chargers. The bottom line is that Chinese produced items are prey to the lowest price regime that is the nature of the Chinese market. Quality is non existent, just the lowest price for an item that resembles a quality product.
Stick with verizon, sprint etc chargers that are proven and tested. That was the best solution for me. I tried to purchase an "OEM" HTC [email protected] charger ebay. It had a poor replica of an HTC logo and it also seems to overcharge and cook my batteries.
Anyone else have any experience or opinions?
Now you got me scared about buying one of the battery chargers.
By the way though, just about everything we buy here (certainly electronics) is made in China. But yes, if it is non brand name, or fake brand name, it might not (or might) have the same quality. (And if shipped from China, not worth returning if it is a dud.)
You say "stick with Verizon and Sprint chargers". Well, the HD2 is not sold by Sprint and Verizon. Are you saying they put out a charger for one of their phones, that uses the exact same batteries? Link to those chargers? Thanks.

Thank you, but just telling us where you bought your battery and charger don't tell us much, without a review of them.
I also posted a link to a charger in the OP, and asked if anyone has tried it, and knows if it is any good.
The previous poster wrote that the no-name chargers can damage the batteries. I don't know if he or she is correct or not, but it scared me about buying one. The battery and charger you linked to are no-name. Have you tested them, the way the previous poster did?
Also, the products you linked to seem very expensive, but I don't know the relationship of Hong Kong dollars to US dollars. Anyone know?
Well, I just bought the one I mentioned in the second post, from Ebay.
At $5.99, free shipping, ships from the USA, I figure not much to lose.
I guess I'll be nervous whether the poster is correct about generic chargers "cooking" batteries. I don't know how I would know, if the charger is damaging to batteries or not. Would they be too hot after charging?
By the way, for those interested in a "cradle" for the HD2, which also has a space for charging an extra battery, I saw one on Amazon, about $20. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0..._m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1FZ013TFV210J7ZAEDS6
(I have no need for a cradle though, and prefer the small charger only design.

lol.. i am using the charger and battery as we speak... and its not some no-name charger and battery.. the brand is MOMAX.. they have a website momax.net which shows their items.. the battery is fit for use for HD2 original battery and the momax battery, which is why i bought it.. the charger has got 2 charging points, direct to hd2 like the normal charger, and external battery charging function, which is what i liked about it.. no need to switch between 2 chargers, 1 stop solution for the battery in my phone and the other spare battery, whether is it the original battery or their momax battery.
Well, having a name one never heard of like "Momax", doesn't mean the product is not "no name". By the latter I did not mean no name at all, but not a recognized brand name.
Not saying that all products without a recognized brand name are no good (I ended up ordering one, in fact), just that one is taking a chance. (And I think I would have taken just as much of a chance with "Momax" as with the one I ordered.) Besides, the one I ordered was shipped from the USA, much better for returns, quick shipping, etc., than something ordered from Hong Kong.
By the way, do you work for that company "Momax"?

lol.. of course not rofl..
im from Singapore, not Hong Kong.. and besides, shipping from Hong Kong to where i live is cheaper than from europe and the states, not to mention currency conversion..
I really wish there was a cradle charger that worked with the Otterbox cases!

nope, not me..
I have the charger pictured in the 2nd post here, ive had it for over 2 months charging batteries in it daily and have had no problems with the charger or batteries.
The seller i bought it from was US based and they also shipped 2 additional batteries with it, so i now rotate my batteries. I have one in the phone, a spare that i carry in my wallet, and one in the charger at all times. When the phone battery dies it goes into the charger, the charged one goes to my wallet ,and the one in my wallet goes to the phone.
I started doing this ever since I had to return by HD2 due to a damaged USB port causing it to go into car kit mode. I think i have only used this new HD2's USB port twice for charging since i got it. I prefer to just swap the batteries.
This works out great because i never have to worry about carrying around a charger and finding a place to stop for awhile to charge up a bit
It does however seem the charger is incapable of charging a battery and phone via the usb port simultaneously. If i put a dead battery in it the charge light will light up red to indicate it is charging, as soon as i plug something into the usb port the light will go blue to indicate charging is done. Im guessing the internal power supply isnt beefy enough to simultaneously charge both
Just bought the same charger listed in the 2nd post. Seller informed me of delayed USPS pickup due to the snow storm in NY area
Oh well for $5 if it doesn't work as expected it won't hurt my wallet.
charger arrived last night, tested with the stock battery. Charged to full in 3 hours, so far so good.
Only complaint: the charger is slight narrower compared to the battery, so about 1/8 inch of the battery is sticking out during the charging process. It does look cheap but gets the job done. Besides, it's only $5.
Now I just swap batteries (I bought an extra battery elsewhere) and don't have to use the USB port to charge anymore, woohoo!
going to buy this charger from ebay..will review it later when it comes

Busted USB port here, about 6 months ago, bought the same charger and a spare battery, and it hasn't failed me yet. The battery does stick out the one side a bit, but it works. Only problem I ever had was the one time I let my gf switch my batteries in it and she bent one of the charger's contact pins. I bent it back, and it's worked well since.
I actually prefer battery swapping now over charging.

Official car charger

Having looked at a number of UK websites, only one said a USB cable came with the charger. I had been planning on buying an OEM 2 amp charger. Then I saw Clove were saying it came with a spare USB cable so the price of £24.99 didn't seem so bad any more. Got it on Friday and, yes, it did have a USB cable in the pack.
Tried it in my car runing Co-Pilot sat nav and my battery indicator showed that the charge was still going up so I am very pleasedwith it.
Only slightly disappointing thing is that the charger has only one output whereas some of the OEM ones have two, one 2 amp and one 1 amp. However, I tried it with my charger splitter and it still showed the charge was going up.
most cheap usb car charges have a screwable top; just take out the glass fuse and replace it with a 2amp/2000mA fuse which you can get at autozone, radio shack, home depot....pretty much anywhere
Really? if i just change the glass fuse i can use any usb car charge?
Is not dangerous for the electric impiant of the car?
No You can't. It is not the fuse that decides how much current the charger can give.
The fuse just protects the charger from blowing if something fails.
The regulator used in the charger sets the charging current.
true you can buy a regulator at radio shack. i've seen the 7805 for about a buck 50.
Ok, tnx guy!

There are generic 2A USB cigarette lighter / car chargers on eBay for a third of the price. Worth trying too
Would you mind posting a pic of the charger?
I just bought Samsungs Car Adapter kit (ECA-P10CBECSTD) from local store, 27.90€.
It comes with cigarette lighter 12/24V usb adapter, 2 Amps 5V output, and a proprietary Samsung Tab usb cable.
A little pricey, ok, but now I have a second usb cable and a car adapter with enough output amps without fuss.

Amazon UK are selling the Samsung car charger for £20.83. Pretty good deal with free delivery.
[edit]
Or there's this one also on Amazon for 99p (+£4.50 delivery!) which apparently can charge the Tab. You still need to add in the cost of the proprietary Samsung USB cable though to match the official car charger features, so not much of a bargain really...

That's all fine and dandy Paul but will an individual be bothered contacting officials just for the sake of a few pounds.
No, what I'm saying is why is it not listed..... and if anyone is considering purchasing one I would recommend they save themselves any issues by first contacting the seller to ascertain if the cable is indeed part of the deal.
If you check the item model number it's listed as a charger, nothing further.

OK well I've just ordered one so we'll soon see . The picture on Amazon looks almost identical to the one on Clove. Here's hoping they're the same otherwise I've bought the world's most expensive charger .
Guys, just so you know, you can get very cheap 2A chargers on ebay. The cable problem is still impossible to solve, but I'm sure Hong Kong people are working on it, so it might be best to wait a month and order a cheap replacement cable, rather then paying ridiculous amount of money for Samsung's original cable.
I ordered one of these a couple weeks ago:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...b43hTuXib7JjWUKJhg%3D&viewitem=#ht_1776wt_959
Came in today, and I swear the sync cable it came with is identical to the one my Tab came with, right down to the Samsung logo.
Car charger itself is a 5.0v/2000mA, looks well built, fused, and comes in a very nice retail package.
Considering the cable alone is $29 from my carrier, it's a hell of a deal. I basically bought a cable for $23 and got a car charger for free.
Hey croak that cellet charger doesnt work. it has the charging symbol crossed out... I guess you need to do usb2usb soldering mod to use any 5v2A charger. I saw the thread on here...

BOGO wireless charger

Samsung is running a promo on the older wireless chargers right now. They are buy one get one free.

OH well, i plan on using it to charge overnight on my night stand anyway so it doesn't need to be fast. If i need fast charge i'll just plug it in.
I have the fast charge pad and it's awesome (not the stand one).
Anyone else notice the different animations you get when you plug in at the bottom or place on the round wireless charger? Plug in at bottom you get a little animation of electricity flowing up briefly. Place on the wireless you get a similar thing but it's a circular animation from center outwards.

They both were showing they were valid until 3/19. I have a feeling the fast charge probably ran out of stock since they still have them, but link you to buy them elsewhere online or in store.
The wireless chargers are back ordered, I originally pre ordered one before I got the phone. And they sent me a email saying it was back ordered then I went ahead and did this deal also since my wife needed one. And the same a day later got a back ordered email.

I missed out on the deal too thinking a had a couple days left to order it. In my ignorance, I didn't think they would sell out so quickly. I spoke to Samsung via live chat and they tried to tell me the promo ended on 3/17. However, I explained that I saw it said 3/19 and she asked me to call customer service to see if they could help me out. I sat on hold for 58 minutes before finally hanging up to go to a meeting at work. Now I'm wondering if it's worth grabbing two of the non-fast chargers for $35 after 30% coupon before the sale ends today. However, the reviews of this non-fast pad make it seem unreliable. I currently use my old Samsung S4 wireless pad now when I sleep with no issues.

Where can I buy the official charger in the UK?

Hi, I am looking for a spare charger to take on holiday.
Ideally I don't want to buy from amazon marketplace or ebay as I am worried about buying fake items.
Does anyone know where I can buy the official UK charger from?
Cheers
Stores currently don't stock the official charger, and after a quick search on Amazon I can only find official chargers for the last generation of Huawei phones.
I'd recommend (if possible) contacting Huawei and ask for a replacement from them.
Good luck with asking Huawei. I spent a week discussing this exact problem with Huawei Australia Support - basically their (pat) response is that they do not sell them as an spare part but welcomed feedback. Well I gave them some of that.
Being able to buy a replacement charger because we lost it or some other mishap is a completely normal consumer expectation. What other manufacturer refuses to sell their AC adaptors as a spare part?
Before Fast/Quick/Supercharge you could use any AC adaptor if it had enough current, but the Supercharger + Cable are the only things that will enable Supercharging on these things, so lose it and you're stuck with normal charging speeds.
Pretty bad form on Huawei's part. We bought the P20 Pro for the Mrs and she does love the phone. I'm very impressed too and before this AC Adaptor debacle I was going to plonk down for one later in the year as a BD present. Now I am having second thoughts after they pulled the unlock code site and won't sell AC adaptors.
I also refuse to buy ones advertised on-line - there seem to be plenty of "original" chargers but several bad experiences buying "genuine Samsung" batteries and chargers for our S4s & S5s taught me to buy only real ones from the local Samsung service centre.
A few years back I had an interesting conversation with a fireman. When they examine the premises to report on how the fire started a large proportion of domestic fires are started by faulty/fake phone chargers.
We should all get up Huawei for not supplying aftermarket demand with the correct charger. If our house burn down maybe they'll pay for the rebuild when the insurance refuses to pay because we were forced to use a non-genuine charger?
And reinstate the unlock code site ...
