Possible to reverse swich and back hardware buttons no root? - Galaxy Tab S2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

know I can do this with root? there is the all in one gestures app but it uses to much battery it seems... I'm coming to the Samsung world from using nexus so the reversed buttons are confusing...

You mean swap the capacitive buttons?
It should be possible by modifying the key file, but come on really?
It's the same with my htc and my tab, buts it's no big deal.
In any case you need root.

ya too bad Google couldn't standardize these... I know it's fairly minor but sucks to have 2 devices with different buttons...

Nothing to do with Google, it's Samsung being backward as usual.

I meant that Google should enforce the buttons to keep the ui consistent across all the manufacturers...
found a OK solution just hold tab upside down then buttons are at least on right side.. also easier to hear speakers when they fire up...

Simple,

And this one is cool,

Single button issue?

I am not trying to troll, but I am genuinely curious.
I've played with a NC at B&N and it seems like a pretty sweet little tablet for the money, but how is this thing gonna run a custom build of android if it only has one button on the front?
Has anybody been able to make a version of android that works with a single button?
Check the forums here.....now that this is rooted, a bunch of us are already running a wide array of apps with no issues.

The other soft buttons are screen the bottom of the screen in all non full screen apps. Works quite well actually.
Nice!
I've already got an ipad, but I'd buy one of these just to fool with if it gets enough support on here.
Now you can remap the vol + and vol - to back and menu.

I'll be quite honest, IMO this is one of the best Android Tablets out right now. It by far has the best screen in class. There will be support

Then what about adjusting the volume? Can't software buttons be implemented like on the Archos 70?

That's a pretty good, in depth review. The best part is he covers a lot of areas that the others do not.
Thanks for this!
I thought mimes didn't talk
That's a well covered reviewing!
Great review, thanks!

BTW I love the holographic back cover!!!
Definitely seems like the software was rough, look at how the widgets keep disappearing.
Screen tear, nowt to worry about. Can't wait to feel that hardware in my hands.

I find the review pretty bad to be honest. He didn't double finger scroll down the notification bar, and he said you needed 1 more step vs the other LG model.
Since JB/ICS I never been able to long press homescreen to add widgets...
The display size on the Nexus 4 is 4.7 inches INCLUDING the menu buttons or EXCLUDING menu buttons?
Won't stop me from getting the phone despite the fact that i'm not too into the 3 menu screen button.
The buttons are on screen, so part of the 4.7.

Doesn't that in theory put it at around 4.6. Haha
edit: Feels like a waste of screen to me.. that's all.

It seems like his review unit is running the oldest software we have seen so far, even photosphere is missing.
Phone seems very smooth and fast looking at this ... but was I the only one who got bored of the guy talking lol

[Q] Sounds for the Nook HD+

Is it possible to add sounds for the keyboard, notifications and using the touch screen? Since the Nook doesn't make noise, when something doesn't work right, like an app doesn't come up when you tap the icon, it'd be nice to eliminate right off the bat that the screen is not registering your touch. I guess using lots of other gadgets and gizmos that use sound as an attention getter when you've done something wrong I've come to depend on it.
If it is possible would you need root or is there an app for that which I haven't found?

To have sounds while using the touchscreen, it's already available in the latest KitKat ROM that CWM11 offers. There's probably add-ons you can get by rooting, I wouldn't doubt that.

Fingerprint touch instead of swipe?

Anybody think it will be possible to make the note 4 read fingerprints by simply touching the button like the S6? I hate the swipe down action required to read fingerprints now.
I'm hopeful someone might be able to do it via software, since I'm assuming the S6 has a different hardware home button and different fingerprint Reader.
Not possible buddy.
Bummer. Thanks for the reply

What about double touch to launch the camera?
That's software so it's possible just needs to be coded in.

This isn't a software issue, this is a hardware issue. I use the word "issue" lightly of course because that's simply how the previous hardware (N4) was designed...to be swiped. Now we can simply press...thanks to new hardware (S6)

personal preference.
The back is more frequently used and easier to access in one handed mode if you swap it to rhs (for right handed people). samsung did it this way so it's more familiar if you're switching from Samsung phone.
One of the great things about android...we don't have to agree which is better, we can customize how we want.

True. I guess I am always holding it in a way that allows me to access the buttons easier. Either that or I have huge hands!
I kind of prefer it this way though!
This is also an upside to software keys!
