Hello,
I'm buying much devices, test it and sell it.
But I like the zuk z1 very much (SOT is awesome)
So I search for a possibility to root the device,
Without going to the pc (adb method or smth) or just lazy like me.
Setup:
New z1 / 3AJ Firmware
Download kingroot Click me
Guide:
Download kingroot and open it,
Follow the instructions. U should be rooted.
Proof in the attachment, I hope it works for u all.
Bugs:
Some apps doesn't work. Better battery stats is one who don't work.
Edit:
BBS worked! , need two reboots to get it to work.
Maybe more, report if u try this method.
Just wait for CyanogenMod, no MS-Apps, no Bing, no 1 million Google Apps, Root just one click...
Hm.
U can freeze or de-install all that ****ty apps. ^^
Won't rooting stop the software updates which it clearly needs? That's what's stopping me atm
You can also get Supersume at the plays store to get rid of KingRoot, and put in CF Supersu.

Hope I could help

I recall seeing that link a while back, but I could not find it, but I heard about Supersume, so I went that route instead.
I have ordered my Zuk Z1 on Thursday. I hope it will arrive until Tuesday. So I'm orientating already about how to root and so on. I don't see why you should root with Kingroot as you don't get updates from Cyanogen anymore when you have rooted the phone. It's a lot easier to unlock bootloader, flash TWRP and than flash SuperSu in my opinion, isn't it? Or do I miss something?
As far as I know, the problem is not Kingroot, but rather that in process of rooting the system partition is changed to read and write (r/w). Now every time the ota update script is running, they check if the that is the case and if so won't install the ota.
Just btw. I read in an other post here, that SuperSU replaces some files and that even if you should unroot, they still change them back, which also prohibits the OTA update script from running.
Which ever way you root and whatever recovery you have installed, you can still sideload the the updates, without loosing any of your data.
Download the "...ham-signed.zip" from this link
Here is the link to the post about the OTA files:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/zuk-z1/development/official-ota-update-links-ota-updating-t3226990
And give Breadcrust and Radii a thanks next time you see one of their posts
P.S.: I have no clue of any of these things/ I am in no way a developer, it's just what I have found out so far, what it comes down to...

I'd like to know this myself.
I have a feeling a flash to an earlier version is needed. I've tried several outdated roots with no joy.
OP you will probably get ignored or told to read a 100 page thread.
Use Easy root for xperia
google it
I know, right! Well, don't download the EasyRoot because afterwards it asks for a key and the website to get it from doesn't even function (unstableapps.com).
i think we may just have to go back to iPhone, or wait for a truly customizable new platform, where you can change battery icons and fully control your device. there doesn't seem a way to utilize our phones any longer.

New Root. I didn't have any issues. Installed a recovery too
Newroot newroot newroot!
Guys just go to this thread and download this tool by munjeni. Easiest root unroot you can find. No need to go back to an older firmware n all. Just hit root/unroot and you are all set. Make sure you install proper phone drivers though. PC companion should show that c6902 connected. I had a slight issue while rooting since the phone was not getting detected. Simply reinstall PC companion and you are good to go.

I tried to make a research manually but found no useful tool to TEMPORARILY root my Xperia Z1. The only thing I came across with is TABZ dual recovery something but to be honest I have no idea what it is or what it does, so please can anyone give me some useful link of TEMPORARY root tool for my Xerpia? as far as I'm concerned after reboot the root will be gone and it will be just as normal as it was before rooting, is that right? I don't want to make the root permanent, just have this urge to try few root features I'm limited right now.

If u dont want root at any time, u can just flash an ftf over it and the root and root features will gone.
Hi ! I was searching on Z2 forums and seems like they have managed to Root Z2 with kingroot method on locked bootloader. Its not working on Z1 currently but with some modifications it just might. Its almost the same rom still. I have no experience but someone might just get this working on Z1 too ! Just wanted to let you guys know ! Good luck o/
Here is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z2/general/root-t3108230
Yes, I asked the question and it seems to be feasible. I'd like to test it but I don't want to mess anything yet because I don't have any backup at the time...
used Kingroot procedure on my Z1 around 5 days ago.......worked fine, came from stock LB 5.01 and now rooted, Superuser, Titanium, and xposed modules all working fine. No bootloops, no strange restarts. Couldn't be happier.
Could you describe precisely what you did? I'm really interested in that! (if that works with Locked Bootloader, everything stock and Lollipop that's a wonderful thing!)
Info: Kingroot will read your IMEI and for unknown reason IMEI will be sent to China server.

I would be interested too
Maybe someone to reverse engineer the kingroot method and make it to some easy one click root, without sending any IMEIs ? that would be awesome !

Bit of research here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3106459
Over a week now, no problems. No mystery reboots or freezing. Was able to install superuser, uninstall kingroot, even trying the experimental xposed, titanium and the dual recovery all working as expected.
Sent from my C6903 using XDA Free mobile app
We've had root on LB since the 4.2 days. I rooted my phone back then, and kept it ever since. Unlocked the BL for some time, locked again, no loss.
If you're not comfortable with some Chinese closed source app running on your phone and applying some undisclosed root method that they claim is used by "other Chinese apps that need to get root", just downgrade , root, and flash back LP. It's much safer IMHO.
Safer yeah but the amount of work on that method that needs to be done is huge. Atleast compared to kingroot method that takes a minute, another for installing superSU...
hey guys
im very noob for mobile programming, so can u guys just give me a blunt yet gentle response, how to root an untouched Xperia Z C6603 5.1.1? (in very detail, pretty please?)
i just upgraded to 10.7.a.0.222 yesterday, my mind had been juggling off since i bought this phone 2 years ago, whether to root or not this....
with all the kinds of unfamiliar term used for rooting process (ROM, bootloader, flash, etc), i've come to realization, ROOTING is not for beginners, especially if they first time want to root their devices...
so could u all masters help to enlighten my poor, poor knowledge in rooting process?
pretty please?:fingers-crossed:
It's simple but time consuming
Hello!
If you have a LOCKED Bootloader.
First of all, you need to go back to Android v. 5.0.2
1. So, make the downgrade using Sony FlashTool, for example. Don't forget to backup all your data.
2. Root v. 5.0.2 with KingRoot (just install the attached apk)
3. Install and execute com.supersume.apk (attached) to replace the KingRoot with SuperSU
4. Install a recovery using EasyRootTool v12.4 (attached)
5. Copy any PRE-ROOTED v. 5.1.1 ROM to your SD Card and flash the ZIP from the recovery.
Alternatively - keep everything as it is and wait till they implement a new version of the KingRoot. The one from 5 Sep. 2015 doesn't support v. 5.1.1 yet.
Hope it helps. All detailed instructions how to flash ROMs (using the FlashTool and the recovery) can be found on the XDA Developers Website.

This is how you create and flash a rom(flash a 10.5.1.A.0.283 or 10.5.1.A.0.292).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/guide-how-to-package-flash-stock-roms-t2914567
This is how you root!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/guide-how-to-root-10-5-1-0-283-t2872873
Then flash this rom in recovery!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/rom-pre-rooted-supersu-xposed-framework-t3195782
Pay attention to every step and any doubt just ask!
I got this phone today and it did an OTA update. I'm now on 5.1.1. Is it possible to root this phone? I'm don't think Kingroot will work and not sure I want to use it anyway.

If you root you won't be able to install updates anymore
You can root with Droid tool or King root 4.0
If you know how to, do a 100% backup with SP Flash tool
Before you try anything.
Thanks. I read on the Kingroot thread that its not working on 5.1.1. I'm a superuser kinda guy anyway, and not sure I want to use Kingroot. I'll google Droid tool to see how it works.

I can confirm kingroot works.
infinix hot 2 5.1.1
I have the same problem with the same device and king root keeps failing any idea what I'm doing wrong? I've tried the OTA and pc versions.
The update with the November security patch can't be rooted for now. I have tried all rooting softwares I know of (apks & PC) and none worked. perhaps a little more patience?
if you wish to root,
flash twrp
flash superuser zip
I'm presently rooted on 11-03 build
