Nice Video Camera test.

Made some daytime videos (T-Mobile ver.)
Here is the auto mode https://youtu.be/t5J4_0Bdps8 , https://youtu.be/vYoLp__C4t4 , https://youtu.be/B4t2B--90pE .
This is HD manual https://youtu.be/2HQA3DSL5Rk , https://youtu.be/5GiwX9qkSSI .
Nightime video is much worse.
Totally disappointed. Frequent focusing in both modes - better than it was on my LG G2. But still shaky

The low light video capture quality is really bad in comparsition with my old S6 Edge. There is so much noise? I think it's a software based issue. Hope that LG or our developers will solve this problem. I like my device (H960) but the quality should much better

I really like this aspect of the phone. Lots of options and the ability to take a still while shooting video is a wonderful thing! Good job LG.

I'm going to a festival, what would be recommended to do to get the best video recording?

Video Camera quality?

New to this site so Hello
Seems to be several topics on Photo quality but very little on the video camera.
Personally i have no complaints about photo quality, seems a decent upgrade from my iPhone 4s but the video camera does seem kinda poor to me.
also going from iPhone to Android, ive noticed the lack of video camera apps the is within the Playstore
curious to know what others think
Not sure why you are having problems with your video camera but, Z1 is rated on of the best video camera on a smart phone...

thats 1 review. the reviews seem all over the place with this phone. mostly on photo tho. some say the camera is the best available (excluding the Nokia 1020) some say it isnt as good as a Galaxy s4.
Ive found the videos look grainy or faded in well lit areas. sometimes looks like the video is upscaled rather than true 1080p

im really impressed with the video quality and its really good meanwhile i tried most of the smartphones and believe me z1 is damn good in video recording...................
i think the video quality is pretty good on the z1, obviously the king of video recording is the galaxy note 3 with its 4k video capability(Sony take a note here and enable this on our phones damn you). Its not just 1 site which has given the z1 a pretty good video recording score (gsmarena, tech radar, engadget and more). In optimum lighting conditions the quality of the videos are pretty good better than the iphone 5s never mind a 4s, one thing that the z1 does suffer from is when you record in low light, the quality of videos and photos begin to degrade, would have been nice to see some sort of OIS to combat this, but overall i find the z1 a very capable shooter.
shut the steady shot ... and try again thx

Crisp video quality, but I wish it had OIS because if you don't have a steady hand, video gets choppy even with EIS
Atrocious sound quality whilst videoing, considering sending back because of it...

Th sad part about that is that I'm almost sure that every Nexus have that issue, i mean, the Nexus 4 and 5 have that issue too, so it should be a Google's fault.
This video i made shows that, even with no so high sound it gets distorted.

Wow, talk about impressive.
Well, the shadow definitely confirms there's a phone on his head. That's seriously amazing to even consider doing that and it does look really good.
I see the wide lens and what he's doing (aside from the views) being amazing, but that quality is horrible. ?

It's shooting at 120 fps! So the shutter speed is incredibly fast and you will need A LOT of light. This is standard with any slow-mo recording. You can try bumping up the ISO but the reality is, you will most likely be doing slow-mo only when you have sufficient light with a sensor this small.

Now that you are saying that. i remember that with my S5, it was happening the same, so you are 100% right! :good:
Ladies and Gents, please look into youtube for V20 videos. SOME SCENES clearly show a fine line in the middle of the video in most of what I saw.
This is NOT the only example out there, you gotta youtube for more.

Trust me, I tried not to see it, but it is there.

None on my phone. Can you provide a time stamp which u see the artifact?
I took the V20 out to my son's baseball game today. Wasn't all that impressed. Maybe because I'm a noob, and have to learn about using the camera and video functions and capabilities of the device. My V20 was set at FHD 60, or aka, 1080/60fps. I was posted near 1st base. When you launch the camera, it goes to auto mode. When action would occur, I would hit the video button, and it would start recording. The footage came out very bright. It was a sunny day today with occasional cloud cover.
I won't compare this too my Note 4, or my Hero4 Black that I have been always using at the baseball games. I may have left the "AE-L" feature enabled, or I should have just been in manual video mode to begin with. I will pay attention to the settings next outing, and hopefully it's just user error the first time around!
Will post here too.

Question - in auto mode it has the possibility of doing 60 frames per second on video. If I go to manual video mode and make it do it's auto thing it dumps down the frames mostly to 50 fps and to make it go up you need more light and then it goes up, first it begins to push down iso until 50 then it will start effecting the FPS number. Why is that - why would it go down to 50 fps and not just down to 60 fps?
-
Apparently it now goes to 60 frames by standard - no idea what why it changed and how - it correctly do 1/60 now and not 1/50 - maybe it was the update.

Video quality is excellent, in my opinion. Coming from a ZTE axon 7 pro, and a very worn out, dying galaxy S4 before that. Hardware in the new Razer is excellent, in comparison to my experience. Stock app does ok, and they now have 4k 60fps. Does very well in low light. but if you want slow motion or time lapse, you HAVE to get the gcam app. Razer STILL has not included those options in their firmware updates. As of 10/16/2019
Link below for a verified working gcam with slow motion and time lapse included.

Just a quick sample clip for the 8k shooting in case anyone is interested in its quality, no post editing: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_YcA-BrMVA
8K is marketing gimmickry, pure and simple.
HOWEVER, for someone needing an action shot, it may be feasible to shoot in 8K as after all, you will never find a mobile device (yet) that can capture stills at 24 fps. Surely in one of those frames you'll have your action shot. AE/AF lock is needed to prevent focus hunting from messing you up, however.
Laser autofocus does nothing to stop annoying AF hunting during video. Fortunately, in pro mode this can be set manually to stop this nonsense. It's always been the case with video. Nothing is more annoying than watching a video while the AF hunts in and and out continuously. Very distracting.
The "metallic rain" sound capture deficiency seems to have (finally!) been fixed with the Note 20 Ultra! Even the S20 Ultra has it. If you take video outside around ambients with wind noise or noise from traffic you will notice it. Also if you plan to zoom during video it's imperative to disable the audio zoom feature. That will drive you nuts.
